  1. I think time and matter are the only constant in the universe, there for time must exist because its a constant. I hate to be the one to kick the pot, but we already found out that matter alone is not constant; matter can be converted into energy, and, indeed, has been proven to be only energy packets being held together with particular forces. This is what a nuclear reaction is: matter being turned into energy. Also, time itself is not constant, only measurement of time with respect to the same point of reference at points traveling at the same velocity is constant. When you speed up in relation to a point of reference, time for you travels slower than for it does for that point of reference. However, I believe that in order to once again relate to that point of reference and compare time, you must first "complete the loop," and return to the same time reference. That means that, while time may go faster or slower for people going different speeds, in order for them to compare time flow, they must be in the same time flow, and time will then seem to be the same. For more information on this idea, look up the Texas laser experimental facility which shot laser through Cesium gas. Cesium has a lower index of refraction than pure vacuum, and actually caused the laser to come out the other side several nanoseconds before it was fired. That'll throw a cog into our current understanding of time :-) I do have a theory on that, which I might be tempted to share if anyone wants to know it. You never know
  2. Definitely the end of the world :wall: After all, how could you live without a computer?
  3. It took me two inventories of picks and 1 dose antipoisons. That's about 30 picks, I think :P

Cool! someone else actually played that game! I played it straight from Descent 1 to 3 and the Freespaces (although they really played nothing like Descent ) I even published a few levels for Descent 2 :-) Descent 1 used to run great on the old 386's :-) My brother was unbeatable multiplayer, though. I would just spawn, run around, drop a black shark missile, and get flashed and end up in my own gravity well. You remember the sound that used to come up when the missiles locked on? I hated that sound :wall: The final boss in Descent 3 was pure pwnage, too
  5. My Employer ID is: 2060 This is my second-favorite game! It doesn't take a whole lot of time, and yet is very fun! message me if you join, and I would love to train anyone who needs it. Also, if you want an explanation of the game, just pm me on Tippit forums, and I'll tell all.
  6. Preface I pick up this ancient quill, inkwell, and parchment for one reason, and one reason alone. I have been accused of horrible acts, and I wish to make my voice heard. By the time this parchment is found, I will be either victorious in my life-long quest or the eternal slave of those who would seek to capture my ageless wisdom inside their pointed cages of evil. If you were to ask my name at this point, I would only dare to give an abbreviated reply, for fear of reprisals upon those I hold dear. Thus it is that I identify myself by only one name: Chicken. Chapter 1 As I remember, my life began as most lives of my kind do. My sharp beak-tooth tore away the hard, protective shell of the egg around me, and I obtained my first glimpse of light. I wiggled out of the ivory, protected palace that was my home, and viewed the world as it now stood. It was there, at that point in time, that I first felt the deep thirst for knowledge that would be such an integral part of my life, and eventually, I fear, my demise. The world stretched out in all directions, infinitely larger than I could have ever imagined inside my little white capsule. I stepped into the sunlight and began to dry, while sizing up the situation. The grass, waving in the cool afternoon breeze, was wet to the touch with a liquid with which I was not familiar. I recognized the color as red, and the smell as chicken, but quickly came to the realization that this was not part of the world as it was supposed to be. My newly-developed hearing detected the sound of a chicken very close by calling out for assistance, while many other voices of my kind blended into a series of wails, shouts, and shrieks. ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¢â¬ÅThere̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s a goblin in the barn!̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬ÃâÃ
  7. http://www.xprizefoundation.com/index.asp This is the future of space flight. Governments will not be needed any more, and with private organizations running the space flight, it will solve many of the worst problems, like taking the government's focus away from battling poverty, red tape, monetary backing, etc. Just make something profitable, and it will grow. Look at Microsoft; they made computers profitable, and the computing industry grew like nobody could imagine. I got to see one of the winners of this prize launch for the first time from Mohave, CA, the first inland, privately run spaceport :-) It was unbelieveably cool.
  8. I might try using saridomin pots, then. Good idea. Thanks.
  9. I've finally completed all the sub-quests, but I just can't beat the bosses. I keep getting Agrith Na-Na to around 5 hp and having to tele. I've tried dds with full blue dhides, and zammy flames with mystic robes. Can someone please help me with what is the best way to beat him, as my poor monkfish are being eaten far too fast! stats in sig.

  16. If people could just act like relatively sane human beings, we could do it. The big problem is definitely terrorism, though. As long as everyone's running around our world trying to find people, they won't have time to be running around another world trying to find people
  17. I'm pretty sure he says "tey"
  18. Haven't you ever heard of any two-sword fighters? In Scotland, the used to duel with a dirk(small dagger) and a rapier. I believe England even used the style for a while. The idea is in defense, you will push your opponent's longer blade(rapier) away with your small blade (dirk)while stabbing the guy with your longer rapier. It works pretty well. These Jagex guys really do pretty well :-)
  19. You could do it except for 1 thing... You'd never make it through the tunnel, unless you had a full inventory of sharks. Actually, that might work; then just range the boss at the end.
  20. That's what I figured; I wonder what parameters he's using for his predictions. Maybe global peace and harmony, everyone working together for the common good... If it's left up to just one country or people group, I think it'll take much longer, and maybe never happen.
  21. A very wise man once said that foolishness is naturally in a child, but the "rod of correction" will drive it out.

I'll give you an extra bump. I enjoy this story so far; keep going, please! :D
  24. Bubsa, I have two names for you... Jacques Cousteau and Neil Armstrong. Both are pioneers for our times, and many people respect them. Some people, though, like the Atlantians of lore, are so sunk into the sea of self that they won't believe anything they can't do themselves... --I don't believe space is a vacuum until I try it for myself-- That thinking of yours will either make you a couch potato, or get you a Darwin Award. That Atlantis metaphor applies pretty well to some people, whether it was real or not.
  25. Zombie monkeys in the dungeon on ape atoll (before getting the monkey tally) would get my vote.
