  1. What if only 95% of them wanted you dead? I would still have a good reason to avoid them. Hell, I would avoid a race if 1% wanted me dead. It's still logical to avoid someone when the chance that they will kill you is 1/100. So.. by that logic, it's also alright to kick blacks, gypsies, teens, and other groups, out of your store because a minority steal? Or don't send your kids to church people! A minority of priests had sex with boys. The priests can't be trusted! No, this is the stupidest conversation I have ever had. If there where 100 people in a race, and I knew one of them wanted to murder me. I'd stay away from them. Discrimination is acting on prejudice, prejudice is acting on a a beleif that you are superior to someone without a logical reason. The fact talking to this person could mean a 1/100 chance they'd kill me counts as a logical reason. It would be different in real life since a 1/3 Billion chance would change things.
  2. Where did you get too see that, like a documentary on DVD or an extra with a film?

No, i am saying you don't need to maniplute anything. If you take the opinion that "If God did it, so can I" which isn't a very unatural opinion to take if you follow such a God.

We are also told to be loving to one another like God is, so i don't see why a slightly mad person couldn't draw that comparison to be justification for murder. And you told me to PM you if i wanted more infomation on Paradigm Shifts which I do, but i don't have the time to go into all that at the moment. You told me you wouln't answer my question until i stopped contradicting myself. And i have another question, the people back then interpreted Gods word wrong. Who is too say you have not interpreted Jesus' words wrong?
  6. Satenza replied to Notorious_Ice's topic in Off-Topic
No, I am saying that the majority take it in a mostly good way. However it's not hard too get out of the Bible that someone can follow God and beleive murdering people who do not beleive in their God is Gods word, because God did it himself.
  7. Just because I beleive in subjective morailty does not say that I myself can't form an opinion of what is bad. Discrimination (acting on prejudice and having no logical reason) will for me, always be bad. Whether discrimination is not bad for the guy standing next to me doesn't mean i can't hold such opinion. Whether it be wrong or not.

This question: I would have thought a christian man could understand this system of rule over following a Bible, as it was the church that made an error in the first place because of this very reason. The church executed the son of God because they beleived their morals where absolute and what he was preaching was wrong. Think if Jesus had lived in this society he would have been free from such absolute morality and could have lived longer and told the world a lot more. If a state which took the morals from the Bible to be absolute was to exist, who's to say another coming of Gods son wouldn't change the New Testements morality? Like Jesus did to the Old Testement? You beleive the Bibles morals to be absolute yet who are you to excercise this judgement that the Bible will not once again change? Truth through persecution always prevails however it has to wait for a society to accept such truth.
  9. Whats is your point? I beleive discrimination to be bad. How dare I? I don't care whether it's subjective. I beleive it is bad in my opinion. This is all about ONE state. I don't care about another states principles, that state has nothing to do with anything.

The point he was making was to refute the claim the other person wrote which was all christians wrote the Bible. What he said was wrong in that no christian wrote the Bible. But he was correct in saying that not everything written in the Bible was by a christian. And you have corrected his statement of everything to the majority. Now thats done, it doesn't matter anymore. The only thing you do is attempt too disprove people, why can't you ever show any understanding for anyones beleifs? And when will you answer my question!
  11. I'll tell you why: So I'm confused by your stance after reading your conversation with Ambassador. Please clarify this for me: Is discrimination always bad? This is assuming all Christians where trying to murder me. Not just like a crazy little sect, every last one of them. In the states eyes, yes. In my eyes, I would have to agree and say yes, because discrimination is having no logical reason. So, it's really just acting on a stupid prejudice.
  12. It's the same, if all black people wanted me dead then I would avoid all black people. Thats not discrimination thats having a logical reason to avoid them.
  13. Satenza replied to Notorious_Ice's topic in Off-Topic
I'm not defending the statement as correct, you have already corrected that. I'm saying the way in which you go about trying to get people to correct their own statements is humilliating. Also, when will you answer my question on the other thread?
  14. If all Christians where trying to murder me, why would assuming that they where going to murder me be discrimination? I beleive thats something you call common sense.

This seems like yet another "every Christian is a fundamentalist" statement :-s . At the risk of some Christians coming forawrd and saying "I don't beleive the Bible is word of God". The majority of christians beleive it to be the word of God. You see the thing is, I have already said that most people use the Bible for what they beleive to be good (Some of which is good, some of which doesn't fall under my opinion of good). However, a man reads the book. He see's that his God commits genocide and murders those who do not respect his word or his people. As a person of God this man thinks that it's alright to do as God has done and murder those who don't follow God. Just as God did. Thats my point, the main character that is supposed to be all loving and 'good' and something everyone must follow commits such atrocities. I can't see how it would be so hard for someone to try and justify murder with the Bible as a tool for it. It mixes in morals will stories of murder, wouldn't it be better If God through is all loving nature showed the 'bad people' the true way of life and not just execute them? Then maybe i would think "Hey that is a good moral handbook".
  16. ...That they will murder me.
  17. So far for this thread the two potential "bad" people you described were white people and Christians... Why is it ok to say bad stuff about those two classes of people but to do so against other classes is considered bad form? Political correctness is loaded with tons of discriminating... not necessarily all being good forms of it. Please, please do not start about poltical correctness. The mere fact you bring this into it you assume i am prejudice against white people and christians. When I myself am white. It's an example, if you wish. Muslims where chasing me! You see, the thing is that if you have a logical reason for prejudging a race like "They wish me dead, and if they see me will sacrifice me to their God" avoiding them is not discrimination because discrimination is having no logical reason. I have a logical reason for avoiding that race and so will.

None, but you have already needlessly tried to humilliate someone in the process. I also remember a lengthy discussion about intolerance, and didn't I admit that my statement was wrong in that? Does it even matter about him correcting the statement when we already have his point and you already corrected what he had said. Theres no need to make him go back and correct that. It's humilliating and you know it.
  19. This discussion is outside the realm of just the United States. Only focusing on one country like that is taking a narrow minded approach. It doesn't matter what country it is. The points remain the same. Thats beyond the point though because within this state genocide would never occur because the principle is that harm is bad. Genocide is harm and so the state wouldn't allow it. Well, if all christians where chasing after me. My personal opinion of them would change because they where attempting to kill me. I wouldn't assosiate with anyone who would be trying to kill me, but i guess thats just common sense.
  20. This is the worst quiz i have ever taken, and the most pointless thing i have ever done. I was however the P90!
  21. You're asking me on my personal beleif now not the states, since genocide would never happen unless the state had failed. I personally would run away from someone who's intention was to kill me.

They knew the earth was round before 300 BC. Get your facts straight. And has been said time and time again, the Bible is valued for it's moral guidelines, not for the literal truth of the stories it tells. Not it's not. It's valued by people within it's religion. Most other people can clearly see the Bible as nothing other than a book which attempts to put across such morals and does so very badly. If it had done it in a decent way people wouldn't mistake these morals and be able to justify killing people. Sat, stop defining and belittling (sp?) the Bible as nothing more than a tool for genocide. It's getting annoying. And stop declaring the Bible as worthless because of the (few) mistakes of people interpreting it. If someone read the Lord of the Rings, and decided to go on a killing rampage partly because of a small passage he read in it, would you instantly think that we should consider the books worthless and go burn all our copies? People don't base their religion around Lord Of The Rings, and it doesn't declare itself a work of fact or by the hand of God either. Your drawing comparision between the supposed word of God and the word of Man. Even though the Bible is written by men, people still take it as the word of God. The Bible is dangerous, and can be used as a tool to justify atrocities. Yes it can also be used as a nice little way of loving one another which most people take it for, but to have a God which everyone worships advocating and commiting genocide and murder does not make me beleive the Bible to be a great work of moral guidelines. Unless Jesus advocated genocide, rape, murder ect I don't have a problem with him. I value the christian morals, well some of them. Like love thy neighbour however, that doesn't make me drop my opinion of the Bible's obvious glorification of murder and genocide and some people taking christian morals too far and discriminating members of society with them. I'm sorry but i don't find the Bible to be a great set of moral guidelines when it's main, almighty God commits such things.
  23. This state would not operate like the states you described. Genocide is harm and therefore why would the state go against it's own beleif that harm is bad? Anyway, if a genocide was too happen within the state, then the only situation it would occur would be if the state had failed. So I would run and hide in a corner until they had gone. The states purpose is to protect the individual so with the state intact, it wouldn't occur.
  24. What if the reason you are discriminating in the first place is because they are trying to harm you? For example... Suppose you are part of a group of people being exterminated in a genocide... Would it be wrong to view the people(whether it is race/political party/religion/whatever) killing everyone you know differently? Would it be wrong not to want to be around them? Would it be wrong to view them differently? Would it be wrong to go out of your way to avoid them? Well genocide wouldn't happen within the state. But I would say that if a group of white people where murdering black people, and a black person refused a white person a job on the grounds that they don't like white people. It would still be against the rules as it's discrimination. And Duke, i know discrimination is hard to prove yet that would not be the point.
  25. As i said, it's symbolic I don't want to go into law but you would have to prove intention ect. However discrimination is a defined concept and so making a law preventing it would be neccessary. Discrimination in essance is bad as it harms someone else.
