    Dope.

I've been addicted to oc and morphine. Cliffnotes: DON'T experiment with it. Not worth the backlash.
  2. Do your history lessons. 13m Xp in RSC was much, MUCH more significant than it is now. Not just because it was earlier in time; there just were not nearly as many ways to train skills.
  3. First: Communicate. Second, you haven't seen Runescape change much at all in the grand scope of the game's near-decade history. While this is one of the more groundbreaking updates of recent memory, it honestly has no negative impact. How many times must that be clarified? If anything, you actually hit more often, and get a more accurate depiction of how much damage you are actually doing.
  4. Then most modern players are noobs. The overwhelming majority pushes for 99s to fit in, be respected, etc.

    RIP HITPOINTS

Don't mind it. However we lost a part of the game's history with the lower damage/health digits which was a trait few RPG games shared with Runescape.
  6. This account is 9 years old this month; with a legacy you can never hope to match. Sorry You're either blind, or have poor comprehension. People do not see/care how many years you have been playing. What they do see is a immature name coupled with an untrimmed cape. You painted yourself as a target, whether you can see that or not. Turn off your public chat, or learn to cope with it. Now I would go on to sarcastically state how I could never live up to your godlike accomplishments, but sarcasm is wasted on the internet, and on trolls like you. You're right, they don't care about things that actually matter, such as experience or wisdom. The number of 99s I have really is more important, especially in an environment where anybody can get a 99 in just a few weeks. The only barometer of skill is how many capes you have; if you are at 98 in a skill; tough! You are nothing until you've earned the cape. You're the troll, not me. Get out of my thread or I will continue to lambaste you :)
  7. Make fun of me because of my stats? You just made yourself the poster child for the kind of player we are talking about. Well done! You are actually the poster child for being too lazy to get a skill cape. If others make fun of you, and you mind that much, you could always just get another one in a few weeks. And 63 prayer is really BS'y. I could get 1->70 in under 4 hours for [bleep]'s sake. I CHOOSE not to aim for 99s only because that would be to give in to immature cretins like yourself. This game has gotten way too easy, rotten kids are just taking over even the highest levels. That is a rant for another day, however.

  10. Define high level. Its different for everyone. Your theory is far too vague for me too consider. Just re-read it out loud to yourself. Anyway, we've focused more on the bashing due to "untrimmed" capes as compared to the presence of the cape at all. Read the thread before you post, it was just too blatantly obvious you didn't here for me to ignore.
  11. The game will never have the feeling of an unexplored wilderness such as the old days back in 2001 when I started.

    Skill Capes

Belittled yet again for being a "non-trimmed" n00b at level 127. Let me repeat that, level 127; I've decided to finally vent on the entire concept of skill capes. I feel that the entire concept has made us forget what really matters and is enjoyable in the game. Everything is a race to level 99 and anything less is inferior. This is hallmarked by a lack of motivating content with most skills past the 80s. After that all there is to really look forward to is the cape, a proverbial trophy of wasted time. It almost feels like everyone is doing it to validate themselves toward other players. And when said players consist of as immature a fanbase as ever, featuring a "look at me!" attitude that is perfectly satiated by the entire concept of skill capes, you will constantly be judged by what they see on your back, and little else. I'm fresh off of another belittling attack because my cape isn't trimmed. Since when is having a skill at 99 -something that was once a rarity in its own right- not enough? Since now. What a joke this has become.
  13. I dig some of the RS tracks but all in all they are very disappointing. First off the midi-quality is cheesy and is one reason why people don't take the game seriously. Secondly the same tracks repeat again and again in certain areas and it grows extremely old very fast. The absolute worst are the effects when you make a sale on the GE or level up. So horrible. On a final note I've noticed that the music actually slows the game down significantly. Constantly re-loading new tracks really bogs down the framerate, at least on my PC here at home.

    Doors

Thank you :) I don't post here much anymore because I got sick of arguing with internet savants and high-postcount trolls that this forum alone seems to have a tendency to attract constantly. They come and go and there is a new one every time I try to make a point, I've seen it all. Furthermore, I forgot to add fatigue! Another example of how there are plenty of attempts to implement realistic effects.

    Doors

Exactly, nothing is realistic. So why do doors need to realistically be opened and/or closed? Bank doors are eternally stuck open for conveinence reasons, why not all doors? So inconsistent!

Oops, forgot about the unofficial Tip.it post police. I'm not even going there.

    Doors

Let's take a moment to analyze how remarkably inconsistent Jagex has been in the realism department regarding Runescape. In a game world that is self-aware of all of the cliches (Look at any random quest, they are full of ridiculous one-liners and jokes about gaming culture) as well as a growing number of "quick-use" options to help speed up areas of the game that are well-traveled to help ease repeated dialog; isn't it a bit strange how we still end up getting stuck on doors that mysteriously close, constantly interrupting our walking path? Let us take a look at a basic path I take daily: I travel to Al-Kharid, walk south to Shantay Pass. I quick-buy a Pass from Shantay, I then quick-pass the Shantay Pass, all sacrificing realism for conveinance. Once out in the desert, I quick-travel the carpet to my destination. If you can't already see a trend here, Jagex is sacrificing the realism of our game world to help spare us repeated boring dialog and actions required to access certain areas. Bringing me to my main point, why do doors have to mysteriously close and more importantly, manually be opened? Why does it have to obstruct our marker on the mini-map, forcing us to open the door separately before continuing. The imagination employed is incredible with how inconsistent it is. I suggest that to maintain the realism level, have doors open and close; however have the character automatically open them as they walk through, instead of having to stop and click, then click again on the map to continue. Get with it, Jagex.
  18. This month I become a Runescape veteran of 9 years. NINE years. I can't believe it has almost been a decade.

  20. Well damn, those guys seem to have their [cabbage] figured out! AVGN is hilarious, how ingenious. Hopefully I will get that big some day. Thanks for the kind words, dude.

  22. I've spent the last week reviewing some of the less-than-stellar NES games from my youth. I made some videos out of it. Enjoy! Jordan vs. Bird (Links to others under the "More from Diamhea" tab). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LV1JI5SufX4 Love me / hate me, I really don't care.
