  1. That I have no desire in women whatsoever anymore? I've been in one relationship for 1.5 years and it ended in a very ugly way. I'm 23 and I now find myself totally impartial to the opposite sex. As I grow up I'm realizing that females never really change as much as I would have hoped for. As a teenager I shared a similar mindset with most of the guys on here did/do. We all hoped that girls would truly appreciate the attributes of a "nice guy" that they claim to crave; yet they were always with the guys that were tools. It is the biggest paradox of our time. Well here I am ten years later and I can tell you that nothing has changed, at least not in today's society in the United States. I've spent the last year going out several times a week trying to become more socially apt. The more I learn the less I want to be a part of it. I see the [bleep] shield that most attractive girls put up and to me, they don't even exist anymore. It just isn't worth it to me anymore, I can't believe it but I'm become asexual in a sense. I still find the female body attractive and desirable, but in today's materialistic and vain society I can't help but feel that I'm the only one that is seeing this from my point of view. I go on dating websites from time to time and can see right through the fact that females still say they want one thing and want another. I'm not whining or complaining because I'm single. I've been single for nearly two years now, and it has been a great learning experience. I've had opportunities that just fell flat because I no longer feel the need to have a significant other only to likely be hurt in the end. My relationships with my friends are the most valuable to me and I feel incredibly uncomfortable opening up to somebody like I did in the past. This is the opposite of the "Looking for a girlfriend" thread. This is for those of us who are frustrated with the corrupt mechanics of what you can barely call today's "chivalry". My friends berate me and call me the obvious, but I can't go against my feelings. I hope there are others on here who can relate.
  2. This is a great idea! My ten year anniversary will be approaching next Winter and when I tell people how long I've been playing they just call me a liar. That really hurts, new-age players have ZERO respect for those of us who have seen it all. I hate to sound like an old geezer reminiscing about better days but we deserve respect for our loyalty to the game!
  3. Nobody, under any circumstances, should be called a noob if they have any 99s. This is the twisted world of Runescape, in which the word "noob" has lost all of its original meaning. Just consider it a general derogatory comment, as it doesn't really refer to your stats anymore. As the game gets easier and the difficulty curve levels out, more and more immature new-age kids are getting high stats and over-inflated egos as a result. Anybody lower than them is a noob, anybody higher than them is a nerd.
  4. I'm just angry I'm going to drop on the high score tables now until I start doing it. I usually play at work too, so a skill that requires collaboration with others (I've always been self-sufficient for the most part) as well as a consistent amount of attention isn't my cup of tea.
  5. dawn of the dead, the '70s version

Agreed, these people don't understand what us old schoolers really are; and how long your tenure must be to earn such a term.
  7. It's the skillcapes. The entire game is a race to 99 and that is all anybody cares about anymore.

Define high level. Its different for everyone. Your theory is far too vague for me too consider. Just re-read it out loud to yourself. Anyway, we've focused more on the bashing due to "untrimmed" capes as compared to the presence of the cape at all. Read the thread before you post, it was just too blatantly obvious you didn't here for me to ignore. high level - 2376 total or close to it - they all have skillcapes yo mhm
  9. A basic Dell laptop. Up until this January I've played RS on the same HP desktop since I started in 2001. I've watched my computer's ability to keep up with the evolving graphics wane and wane.
  10. Started back in early 2001 in my 8th grade computer class. The kid next to me showed me the game and we both started, with most of the class following suit shortly afterward. My first memories consisted of fighting goblins down the path in Lumbridge, collecting mind runes at the spawn in Lumbridge castle, and doing Restless Ghost.

Good I'm not alone on this one
  13. Full drag. Don't own one piece of Barrows because I'm too cheap to want to repair constantly.
  14. Back in around 2001 or so I found it. Used it for a while but I was a bit of a troublemaker back then and got banned :P Joined again in '05 and the rest is history.
  15. Warped Tortoise drops lately....otherwise sharks
  16. everyones always raving about that dude from twilight, but I find the girl from it pretty darn hot. I know nothing about the book or movie/show/whatever but she is hot also, and I may get crap for this, I find lady gaga incredibly hot. Maybe it is how she is so confident with her ridiculous style choices....but its probably just her incredible rear

    I love pad thai
  18. I'm not too big on the scary stuff. But some documented supernatural sightings have intrigued me, especially this one:
  19. No such thing as bad music to me. There is music that from a musicianship standpoint may be lacking....but that is as close as it can be to bad in my eyes.
  20. Wtf? I click on an old-school thread and I see mostly RS2 pictures. Either I'm getting really old or....I'm getting really old. I lost most of my old pictures during a hard drive crash years ago. This account is 9 years old and it is definitely a step back in time to see some of these RSC pictures. Feels weird having been present for everything in this game's history; too bad few people respect that nowadays.

I've been to tons of them. I've slowly realized you can't find a decent woman there and gave up on it.

Okay, I really don't get this whole skiller thing. I understand the novelty and "wow factor" that bred the initial concept; but it has become a bit overplayed in my eyes. So we get it, seeing a low level player with high non-combat skills is initially pretty shocking! I mean, look at the unnecessary handicaps they put on themselves to reach where they are! However through this process I can't help but attribute it to somebody who...lets say performs all of his daily routines with his arms tied behind his back; all for the sole reason to, at the end of the day brag to his friends about how he did it. Impressive, sure...but why? Why not put all of your eggs in one basket and have a balanced character that can be respected on all fronts. Why put yourself in the unenviable position of having to mention "My main..." every time you are called out on being a one-trick pony? In the past this wasn't as big of an issue as it has become. Skillers are becoming far more numerous, their smug attitudes bringing me to making this topic. Of course, play the game whatever way you which, just don't expect adoration for these decisions.

    Thanks, really appreciate that.
  24. You fail at ranting. I'm not even going to waste my time writing any more.
  25. I've heard good things.
