RuneScape Information

  1. Indeed. "Passion governs, and she never governs wisely." (Benjamin Franklin, 02/05/1775)
  2. I think it can be condensed a lot. It was a pretentious read.
  3. No, Earth spins around a 23.439 degree axis perpendicular to the Earth-Sun plane, making a full rotation every 23 hours and 56 minutes. As a planet, Earth rotates around the Sun. And I'm pretty certain that from the start, everyone has to make a little money from skills, and then buy supplies outside of the wilderness for PKing... but PM me if your selling full rune inside the Bounty Hunter volcano. :P
  4. Foodfight13's was one of the best letters to the editor I've ever read. All of the others were quite good too.
  5. Who would want fame in any MMORPG? A llittle bit of time spent for RS to relax is universal... but taking mroe time to be famous is more a waste of time, unless if one can't do anything better. If you have the time to write an RS guide, instead write a letter to your public representative or do hospital volunteering to better your community. But if you seriously don't have anything better to do, there's no problem with expanding Tip.it.
  6. Armadyllo and the Times team, you guys are the best. Its a shame that those upstarts like Sal and Zybez are above tip.it on Google. Yeah, like above me said, great article on such a short a notice. You guys must be great writers in real life :D . True, real-world trading has become a problem (Chinese companies; shame on us Asians :( ) Well, on the bright side, I just got my Xbox 360 and Halo 3 as a birthday present... I hope I'll just forget about Jagex and Runescape so I won't be tempted to come back. But, I like this forum.
  7. Training range now. I was wondering if the distance from the target affects damage (if both are set just to "accurate") Thanks
  8. I've been playing RS for a long time, and if I could only give one word of advice, it would be: teacher. Ask your school's best English teacher to proofread your appeal letter. There's nothing more important than the language in a letter except for the content itself. Best of luck.
  9. Ahhhhhhhhh, attack of the roses......gaaaaaaaaaaahhh, I'm bleeding. A very vicious attack by a rose indeed. I like your post. Excellent argument. In fact, it was much more convincing that the editorial. Double post. Sorry.
  10. I don't think many people know the main cause of mass-autoing; the bots are mainly the result of poverty in Asia, where businesses recruit people to maintain bots or play RS intensively for money. I think there is a news article on this on the main site, but I haven't checked in a while. Then again, its quite inevitable, with poor people in Asia looking everywhere for jobs, however undignified the jobs might be. This is public ignorance. But with so many little kids playing on RS these days, that too is quite inevitable. My take on this article: This article implies the assumption that autoers just exist for gain, but unfortunately does not say why there are so many autoers. This is a nice and flowing article with great transitions between points. The author's tone is light and casual, fitting for one defending Jagex with a somewhat I-am-here-to-enlighten-you sort of air. On the other hand, it's really obvious that people don't really "hate" Jagex, you know. I'm pretty sure most kids would be more concerned with daily problems in school with their teachers and with their parents as to divert hate to a game. Surely a kid won't hate the maker of a game is they love the game so much to play it?
  11. Like Ginger_Warrior said before... this article is "pretty flawed"... yes, the argument has as many holes as swiss cheese has (metaphor). 1. Typing has largely replaced handwriting in the commercial and industrial world the last few decades. Enough said... 2. Skills with basic operations (adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing, exponetiating), even when done mentally, will not get you very far beyond high school algebra. Ivy League doesn't really accept many students who graduate below algebra and geometry... 3. All I have to say about the history section of the article is "LOL." I hope College Board doesn't replace World History AP with courses about scimitars and battle axes. 4. Yes, I suppose the people at Jagex have a lot of imagination... but the real world is a better source for imagination, as long as you have good eyesight. RS's graphics are... .... .... Edit: oops.. .
  12. Yes... Random events help a lot to track down bots.... I never heard of this news article. That's just CREEPY... little Asian kids (I'm of a Chinese descent) sitting at computers clicking on virtual trees and rocks just to get another cup of rice on the table... or another bottle of clean water... I feel so sorry for those little kids... and I really detest these "sweatshop" owners who make these kids do this - they're all going to be nearsighted by 10!!! Cataracts in their 15's! Maybe eye cancer by 20! Or some other horrible eye disorder, those kids deserve better... the chinese/korean or whatever government should prosecute the "sweatshops" for child labor....
