*You didn't use the gradient tool. The shading on the hiltguard-thing was a gradient. A gradient done by hand, but a gradient nontheless. :wink: As for the straightness problem, just follow my example. Add dents, chips, scratches, etc in. EDIT: nvm, you saw it :P

It's too straight, too unnatural. You've used gradients on the hilt, which is a lazy way of shading, and it doesn't even flow. :? What shading you have used on it that isn't a gradient of some form, is very vague and unneccessary. also, the shadow that leads off the hilt and onto the blade makes the root of the blade look flat. Lastly, the straps of cloth or whatever around the hilt should be raised off the base slightly, like this: *Image edited with what I suggested used, any credits for the original image go to jumister* However, I like the palette you've chosen. Edit̮̩̉̉: While you're at it, AA the triangular part of the sword near the tip. It's hella jaggy.

I might do it, if you get me 30k air for it instead. In fact, scratch that. I WILL do it for 30k air. Make sure you get the air after I post the sig if you're interested, 'cause I'm unreliable like that.

This pixel belongs to helm, of pixelation. All credits for the graphic go to him, etc. That's hand pixelled, btw. Also, my sig doesn't use black outlines, and black outlines are for NEWWWWBSOMGROTFL. Messy black outlines, anyways.

Black outlines blow in pixel art. Eh, lose the lens flare on the second one. 'Sposed to be pixel. Jum, Col's right. Your sig isn't great. I could tear that sig apart if you posted a crit topic. :?

Keep the girl 100% opacity, and anti-aliase her... borders. O.o Also, scan lines are overused in abstract, diagonal or not. LEWSE THE SCANE LYNES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1one!1

Whee, it's the thing the cait rides around on on FF7. I have a full pixel of it that I did first, and decided to make a sig out of it , but The shading kinda... doesn't look right towards the bottom, so I'm not gonna post it. Anyways, comments and constructive critisism, please. Not just a rate. Numbers don't mean anything if there isn't anything to improve on. OMGLOLROFFLE COMENTZ PLEES!!!!!!!!!111!1

Lose the bevel. Pixel is hand drawn. Also, lose the gradient sky-thing. In fact, lose the whole background, start fro scratch. The people are fine, however.

Eh, it's a pretty old piece, at least a year and a half old, so I can see the blandness. I suppose I'll be improving it then. xzim, I've been pixelling for years, and I don't want my sigs to look even vaguely like anyone elses. thanks for the comment anyways.

If the sigs were actually conveying some sort of style, like showing off a certain aspect of shading, not being based on rs, etc, then I doubt complaints would be raised. All I see is hastily coloured in lineart with gradient shading, over a stupidly oversaturated wilderness background. Oh, and whilst we're at it, lets use comic sans as a font instead of a proper pixel one. I highly doubt most of these people know how to antialiase by hand, or dither shade. Instead, it's all 'OMG I MAK NEW LAYUR @ 50% OPACITEH THEN I SCRIBL BALCK OVA HIS FACE AND OMG OMG ROFFLE IT LOOK LIKE SHADOW LOL OMG I AM GUD PIXLUR NOW LMAOLOL' At least clean up your line art, I mean, which is more visually appealing? This: or this? It takes about 10 mins to clean up a piece, and looks a lot better.

av: Eh, just a little iso wildy-ish scene done in the style of Final Fantasy Tactics, if I remember, as a competetion waaaay back on pixelation. (Not the sig, a full piece was used, which I will not post) Eh, anyways, the winner of the bid will recieve the sig with text of their choice, in any font and any colour, anywhere on the sig.
