"Murder" connotes images of someone going around stabbing people who all have hopes, dreams, opinions, personalities, hobbies, jobs, families, pets, homes, etc. because they felt like it. Then substitute "murder" for "kill for profit", "kill an innocent", "scrape then suck out with a vacuum", "dismember then remove piece by piece". Take your pick, because while unsavory none of these phrases are entirely inaccurate. Actually -- all of those phrases are entirely inaccurate, inasmuch as 90% of all abortions performed in the United States occur prior to the 8th week, when the fetus is merely a cluster of cells, less than a half-inch long, having no identifiable shape or form, no brain, no heartbeat or any other identifier to make it appear "human" to anyone except those with hysterical imaginations ... Ahh yes, if it doesn't "look" human it definitely isn't. We should stick this guy into a vacuum. It'll be ok, he doesn't have limbs. Over-simplification troll is over-simplification. Does he have a heartbeat? Does he have a brain? Is he self-aware? Are you REALLY trying to equate a clump of cells with that guy? Seriously?
  2. Judging by the past few pages, the only requirement is that it has nothing to do with homosexuality. Indeed -- hence my confusion ...
  3. If you're so selfless, why do you have a problem with giving up a spot to a crasher? Practice what you preach and whatnot? I always offer to share the spot. ALWAYS. :shame: then you're just a tool who society takes advantage of  LOL -- no, I am mother of three children who likewise play Runescape. I lead by example.

  5. I will concede that point in theory as it applies generally -- but I won't concede it in this case. The game environment has become a lot less friendly. We notice it more because it happens far too frequently -- much more frequently than it used to happen. The attitude in the game has changed. People are a lot less friendly than they used to be. In game, amongst most common question I am always asked is "Why are you so friendly when most high levels are [wagon]?" -- and I get asked that question *every* day. Frankly -- IMO -- the game environment began declining when you could no longer "challenge" other players. After that, it became very easy for players to hide behind their view screens and act like malicious idiots. Personally -- if people want to be "hot studs" and go about crashing others, then perhaps they should try crashing on PvP worlds ...
  6. Ok -- I LOL'd at "universally accepted morals". Morality has nothing to do with this. It's about consideration of your social environment. It's about learning how and why you need to interact with other people. What you're purporting is akin to saying that it is far better to look out only for yourself than to consider the quality of life of everyone involved. It is precisely THAT kind of thinking that creates the societal woes we have today. No one bothers looking out for anyone else. No one gives a damn about improving OTHER people's quality of life. All that matters is that they get that item they want, and then piss on the rest of world in the process. Honestly -- when is society going to learn that we cannot crap all over each other all the time and expect our civilization to move forward?
  7. It is interesting to note the number of players who have all pretty much reached the same conclusions I have with respect to the adverse effect that rudeness is having on the game. Is it not? argument: if a reasonable number of outspoken individuals reach a particular conclusion, their conclusion must be founded. example: a majority of united states officials, whose opinions are well heard above those of a regular jackoff, concluded that invading iraq would be a good idea. therefore, their conclusion was founded. Tell me Blade, are you trying to argue that the game environment has NOT declined in recent years? That players are NOT more rude now than they used to be? Because, if you are, then you're talking out of your ass. <_<
  8. Okay - I have scrolled back a half-dozen or so pages and I am lost. Is this the right place for an argument?

  10. If you're at an auction, do you refrain from bidding because someone else already put in a bid? No? Why not? If you're auditioning for a part in a play, do you back out because someone else is trying out for that part already? No? Why not? Or, alternately: Exactly, it's rude to push people out of a spot, so if someone crashes you, the polite thing to do is to step aside and give them their turn. After all, if there's a long line behind you at the drinking fountain, it would be rude to stand there sipping for ten minutes while everyone else is waiting. Ah yes -- how silly of me. It's ALL about YOU, isn't it? It's about what YOU want, right? YOU must come FIRST before EVERYONE ELSE, because goodness knows that YOU are more important than the world at large, right? Is this what civilization is reduced to? The point where self-indulgence takes precedence over decent human behaviour, and then gloats over it? If so, then we're in one sad situation ...

  12. .. and the whole world revolves around just you, does it?
  13. Umm.. not really. You can beat people who are higher leveled and better geared than you. But that deals more with skill and timing and a lot less with internet connection. Unless you have like dial up or something. There are very FEW people better equipped or higher leveled than I am -- the difference is that, when most monsters spawn, other players always see it before I do. ... and it's got EVERYTHING to do with internet connection -- because I live in Canuckistan. Most people operating off cable or DSL, particularly in the U.S., have a faster d/l rate than the second rate cable/dsl we have in Canada. While my Cable provides a 6.4 mbps, most of those players in the U.S. are operating at 21+. It's even worse if you've got a piece of crap Bell DSL network. Any noob with a half-decent internet connection is going to see the monster spawn before I do and will get the first attack. So...since it happens to you, that means it happens to everyone? Most of the places where people crash are MULTICOMBAT, we are talking about crashing BOSSES, like TORMENTED DEMONS, and BANDOS. We ARE NOT talking about crashing hill giants. Crashing has everything to do with better stats and gear. Just because connection plays a role for a tiny portion of people, doesn't mean it's entirely based on connection. If I'm soloing bandos with a CR, Ovl, Turmoil and yak, and you come in with a whip, super sets, piety and a tortoise, your connection isn't going to do you any good other than maybe getting the first hit. Actually -- no, you're talking out of your backside and you know it. A similarly equipped player crashing me at a Boss Kill is going to get in his licks before I do. If two or more people show up, then I am lucky to make one hit before the boss is usually dead, or so far beaten down that I am not going to make enough damage to get the drop. Oh -- and nice work ignoring the latter part of the discussion there. Really classy. I guess you don't care if you're rude to other people -- particularly "on the Internet", because you're invisible and therefore invulnerable to that criteria which is required to function as a real human being. What you don't see is how this crap continues to pay forward. Your rude behaviour only encourages more people to behave in likewise fashion. Eventually -- and Runescape is coming to this point in a hurry -- you end up with a gaming environment where everyone is rude, crass, vulgar and annoying and the games ceases to be of any enjoyment for anyone. But hey -- what do YOU care -- you got those 30 extra gold pieces ahead of someone else, right? Right?
  14. This times a billion. *squared* Honestly -- this name change thing has gotten old. Real. Old.
  15. If anyone needs assistance finding a partner for Heroes Quest, feel free to use my clan chat: "Blyaunte". We will hook you up with a partner, regardless of which gang you're in. It's a "free" service -- we don't expect or want to get paid -- and there is usually some one in the cc at any given time. Good luck! Bly :^_^:

If you go to a movie and there is a line up -- do you walk to the front of the line? No? Why not? If you're waiting for a table at a restaurant, do you step in front of everyone else and take the next available table? No? Why not?
  17. I bought my Yellow at 75 (BGS + Mage Book + cash) when the prices crashed back in February 2009. I've no idea what it's actually worth today in terms of "street" price -- but I tend to think I got a pretty good deal on it.
  18. crashing should only be done if you are the strongest. To a lower level/undergeared player its a waste of time to crash someone stronger then you. That's pure and utter BS and you know it. Crashing seldom has anything to do with whether someone is higher level or better equipped. It entirely comes down to whether someone has a faster computer with a better connection. Either way - it's plain rude.
  19. I was toying with the idea of upgrading my Yellow for White the other day. I spent 15 minutes reading the RSOF -- trying to understand what it was worth in trade to obtain a White for Yellow. After that, I gave it up as incomprehensible ...
  20. While I am entirely in favour of dual handed weaponry -- this idea needs to be a lot better thought out: First of all, there's a limit as to what weapons, and in what combinations such weapons, can be dual wielded. A whip, for example, should be too difficult to "dual wield" – i.e. you cannot use two at a time, but it could work with a dagger. It'd likewise be too "unwiedly" to operate a whip with a longsword or scimitar. Any dual wielding will, of course, reduce your accuracy slightly – but it should not reduce your strength on your "primary hand" and have only a slight reduction on your "secondary" hand. There should be less of a reduction when dual wielding "like" weapons – as they would allow for better balance. Wielding double-daggers, for example, would offer a higher accuracy and less strength deduction than, say a longsword and a dagger. You would also lose certain defence bonuses that any dual wielded weapon is going to give. Also - dual wielding is going to need an attack/strength/defence level requirement – you cannot dual wield until you reach, say, level 50 in all three stats. Sorry "Pures", but some noob with level 10 defence should never be allowed to dual wield a weapon. The attack structure would follow more closely along these lines: 1. Prime hand attack, off-hand parry; 2. Prime hand attack, off-hand parry; 3. Attack with both hands. Of course, if you're going to allow "dual handed" weapons and "dual handed fighting" then you ALSO need to incorporate the good old fashioned "Shield bash" – which allows you to assert a certain amount of "pound" damage on your target, depending on the level of the shield.
  21. No no no no -- do not KILL the Defilers, or the Void Queen will simply respawn more of them. Your way will only prolong the battle. If you simply hit each of the Defilers, they will turn their attention on you, and then the Archers can get control over the healers. Once you have the healers in check you can take down the queen with no problem and in short order -- especially if you use a Spriti Kyatt and Ambush scrolls.
  22. Two words: Spirit Kyatt ...
  23. Finished the quest late last night -- this is nowhere NEAR as difficult a boss battle as Nomad. LOTS of "clicking" though and some pretty good "action" ...
  24. Has anyone tried maging the Queen and all her little helpers in the final fight?
  25. I caught this live on the news earlier -- so I sat and watched carefully, just to see if the steel and concrete building collapsed entirely within 20 minutes ... :^_^:
