Well, the way I powermine is probably the quickest way on f2p, but you need to be on the ball. I will go to the Scorpion Pit mine in Al Karid, and find the 3 iron rocks in the northern part of the mine, on the west side. If you stand in the middle of the 3 rocks, you have access to all 3 without moving, all you have to do is turn. Anyway, First I mine the south rock, then quickly the west rock, then finally the north rock. Right away I turn back to the south rock and I have just enough time to drop the 3 ores before the south rock respawns again. Waste no time in dropping the ores, you only have about half a second to a second to do it. By this method I can get ~35k xp per hour. This method also allows you to keep all the gems you mine or get from random events, which is a big plus in my opinion. Have fun powermining (dripping with sarcasm) but remember to listen to music, or even late-night AM Radio, you will be less insane when you are done that way :thumbsup:

As you can see from my sig, I am currently sitting on top of level 70 mining, and will soon start up the ol' grind to go for some more levels as I am looking for level 85 too. It seems to me, that the biggest stumbling block in getting level 85 mining is not that it takes a long time, but that it can easily burn you out. If you try to fight the iron rocks for level 85 mining all in one go, the rocks WILL win. Here is my handy dandy advice for you: 1) Mine the ores and bank them until you are close to level 55, then powermine (casue you will be excited at this point) until you are able to get mith. 2) Bank when you can, powermine when you can't until you get level 60 mining to enter the guild. This is a big step becasue when you are in the mining guild you know you are among accomplished miners like yourself. Mine there for a few days just to get the iron-sickness out of your head and build up some stamina again. 3) Now is the long haul to level 70 mining. If you wish to bank, go right ahead, but remember, banking, even on a good night is probably about 1/2 the exp rate of powermining. By the end (level 69-70) I could get one level powermining in one night of 2 or 2&1/2 hours. I myself banked until level 66, then powered the rest of the way to 70. Once you can get addy--get some! I got 4 ores, then went to Karamja to get drunk on rum, seriously, it was dumb, but silly and fun compared to powermining. That's where i am now, my future plan is: 4) Powermine all the way to 85, banking zero iron ores, only banking coal, gold, mith, addy, etc. I will try to get each level to 85 all in one go, in this context, one go does not mean all in one night, it means that while working on a mining level, I will do nothing else, when on runesacpe. So, that's my advice, and plan. Note: Powermining is tough, but can be very rewarding, I listen to mah tunes to help me through. Also, these steps should certainly not be followed consequtively, they should be interspersed with other fun things in runescape, like quests, or anything-but-powermining-iron type things. Ok, it's time to let the cat out of the bag: I'm f2p, I have only played rs for ~3 months, and most of my skills are not-so-hot. But, here are my goals before switching to p2p: 1) I want every f2p skill up to 50 2) I want every f2p skill on the high score table 3) I want to have finished every f2p quest [done already] 4) I want to get my mining up to level 85 (see my sig) I'm starting to think that since money is not directly involved in any of my goals, that I will just powermine to get levl 85 mining--I can get 35k exp per hour powermining. So I was wondering if I could get an estimate of how long these goals will take, mostly the first two as I have the last two under control Here are my stats, some i'm not sure on i gave an accurate guess on: Att:44 Def:44 Str:46 Hits:44 Range:10 Pray:25 Mage:33 Cook:44-45 WC:41 Fish:45 Fire:15ish Craft:33 Smith:50 Mine:70 RC:26 These are my stat's, take 'em or leave 'em. Hey, what's wrong with looking like an elf? Elves are cool :thumbsup: If it's a cool Tolkein/Eragon style elf that is. If it's more of a "Santa's Workshop" elf, I can see how that wouldn't be so cool... On-Topic: Why are the other colors of Mystic robes more expensive? I'm assuming all the colors of mystic robes have the same stats. Are the red/black and white/gold robes drops from rarer monsters compared to the normal blue robes?

Fly fish in the barb village, that's what I do, as I am f2p too. I am going to start paying soon though, and was wondering why gotsol said that shilo village was so much faster than the barb village?

Well, if your runescape name is applenator (cause someone has that runescape name, and has level 56 crafting) the best f2p place to mine gold is definately the crafting guild. On the off-chance that Applenator is your name on these forums but not in runescape, and you do not have access to the crafting guild, the best f2p place to mine gold is...wait, i'm f2p and don't have access to the crafting guild! I can't tell you my good spot for mining gold! But it is definately not in the dungeon under Karamja volcano. Nope, I sure dont mine gold by going down the rocks into Karamja volcano. And i certainly dont fight level 22 skeletons for quickie bones while i wait for the rocks to respawn. :-$

How do you play runescape using the keys? I have always wondered if this is possible, and it looks like you do it all the time, azielgoh.

Can someone please explain to me in detail curse training? I just don't get it, maybe I'm missing something, but why do you wear the metal armor?

Well, I don't know a whole lot about combat, but my understanding is that the scimitar gives you much more speed than the battle ax for a comparitively small decrease in strength. In this way it is kind of an optimization of speed of attack and strength. The combat guide on the main tip.it website might expain it better than me.

I see what you mean, the vibrance of the colors are dimished in the lower quality pic. Maybe increase the contrast/saturation to more than you want it, then save it as a lower quality?

I was just wondering if people think there is potential for a sig here if i re-work the size and aspect of this image. I realize this isn't pixel art, which is the norm, but please tell me what you think anyway:

I would try to re-save it as a .jpg, and there should be an option for image quality when saving as a jpeg, just put that a few notches lower, and see if it helps.
