I hope this eradicates whitescreening :P You guy do understand this means non-java client, ie the ability to easily port RS to consoles right? That alone is a massive deal. Pretty much confirms RS will go only consoles pretty soon. incorrect. the transition to consoles, if possible, is not just graphical - it means there needs to be plenty of cooperation between jagex and the companies involved - plenty of negotiations, deals etc to be done. that is if they even want to have runescape on the console (it could draw players away from other games). some of them will also want to squeeze as much money out of it as possible (microsoft). so no, runebox360 is not coming soon at all. mmg mentions it on the thread also. Aye, Mod Mark (Lead content developer) was in game the other day (not to be mistaken with Mod MMG) a player asked about consoles he said that you can only play it on Wii and Ps3 through browsing the internet on those consoles, otherwise you can't (360 is a closed network). Jagex did offer it to the companies as a free game for people but they were like "what's the catch" sort of thing.

yeah jas is like an elder god or something that created the stone, way before guthix. there's ties with the dragonkin and probably frensakae (or however it's spelled.) but i reckon jas is a dead god and that is why the dragonkin appear to be rogue. [runewiki] [/hide] I edited my post my theory is that it's the Oracle personally :P that'd be awesome though a return of Jas too. yeah he's obviously a powerful figure having created the stone and enslaved the dragonkin, but as i said if he's still around he's either in hiding (yeah maybe a character like the oracle) or departed from gielnor. would definately be nice to see him again, any quest related to him would probably involve rounding up the dragonkin and stuff so yeah. Maybe Jas can only unlock the true power of the Stone of Jas and currently it's only working at a very low percent :P this is hilarious because JAS is an acronym for java application server which is basically what the game runs on (probably not a naming coincidence there) and for players to use the upgraded stone (stats above 255) would require an upgrade to the JAS - because the maximum usable value is currently 255 (or was, but i think they've got past it now with rt5 - see the corp, nomad's hp) funny! Weapons could also do a percentage of the monsters hp (such as ruby bolts) so you can still hit harder.. say if they made a weapon like a Thors hammer which is the Staff of Armadyl in RuneScape that could weaken the monster futher or just increase damage by a range of 20-100 lets say.. also I kind of meant for Jas to use not our players, so Jagex could make a cutscene with it hitting a tonne not necessarily having 255 stats, I'm not sure if it can go past 255 though, I heard that whilst reading up on lores etc a while ago, but I'm not sure on full capabilities of java.

Off-topic here but I Wonder if the Stone of Jas ever belonged to anybody, was there a god or goddess called Jas? we know that the stone was around before Guthix set foot in Gielnor, before that is written lore in RuneScape pretty much none-existant? imagine if there's a big fight going on before the ritual between Zaros, Zamorak, Saradomin & the other Mahjarrat, Guthix has awoken and decides to fight, and then enters Jas who turns out to be more powerful than all of them... who turns out all this time has been lurking in the shadows watching them sacrifice one another fighting over his/her stone and destroying the land :P Here's another possible thing for you, what if the Oracle is Jas? she spoke of the Stone of Jas way before WGS etc, and the Oracle is a very old and wise figure :twisted:

November, Blood runs deep was december ;) Zaros just got introduced into the game, so I doubt it's zaros. As for a mahjarrat, why can't that and the soul alter be one in the same? If one of them has to be sacrificed to give life to the rest of them then the soul alter makes perfect sense. Not really he's been known about for a very long time, and yes it's a possibility for the soul altar, as Jhallan said on the quest "Tale of a Muspah" about a "rock of life" which could mean soul altar.

maybe, but i'd like to think the surge was part of what will be several months of teasing and strange events before it's related release. the twitter post makes me think it's something small, but that might just be because it's twitter :wall: Emilee is very vague with her hints for it to be widespread on RuneScape at a peak time on a saturday night Jagex knows they're playing with fire, or rants here so it's big big big if you ask me ;)

You might be onto something! Jagex twitter said something about variety is the essence of life. Stone of Jas (thing that made runestones)? Mahjarrat? Star Alignment? Ritual in The North? Zarosian Return? That would be one hell of a quest, but I'd have to see it to believe it there's not that much proof of it yet, people see essence and assume runecrafting but essence could be so much more

I Think it's safe to say no matter what it is for Jagex to plan this for all players its going to be a pretty magnificient update I hope it's tomorrow and I can't wait :P

Why would an upcoming skill make you do this though? it makes like little sense.. so red mist + levitating = illusion skill? I highly doubt it, the day my character starts sailing around in a boat for a few seconds I'll believe it, I doubt the skill is out of development yet personally it's a HUGE piece of content and was almost a game on its own. I think it's more of a quest because a rising power, and the reason it effects ALL players is because it's to get people talking through hype, to exclude players isn't really fair, jagex have done this a few times with future quests but it has only selected specific players, even before Kuradals release people were wondering "who is she?". The reason I believe every player even F2P was selected too is because it doesnt matter where you are in runescape is something is that powerful it'd hit all players, such as a shift with the gods, the knights or maybe even sea slugs, but we'll have to wait and see :(
