Why mono-dragon run?

Seriously tho I just really like dragons. And this game just offers enough dragons in the early game - I wonder traded for Axew right before I explored the cave you can catch him in. Then, in the open area past the caves that leads up to Abrette town I caught a bagon. Then when I had the fossil choice I googled it and found out I could use dragons. I loved the idea of using powerful dragons throughout the game rather then save them mostly for end game. I caught a garchomp and goomy when I had the chance. (Actually, I had no intention whatsoever of catching Goomy. Then I saw a shiny one while grinding on route 14 and started hucking ultra balls at it.)
Oh and I chose Charmander as my secondary starter mon. Who mega evolves into a blue/black Dragon/Flying Charizard, which was basically why I bought the game.

No idea what those are or what they do. Also I don't use berries normally.

See, here's the problem. Go Dragonair! Switch Dragonair with another dragon. That dragon likely gets hit with an ice attack. Repeat this for every single mon I fight. Doesn't work well.
If I just went with my regular team of lvl 65 pokemon I should be able to murder almost everyone with one hit.

I found rain in Laverre. Ironic it evolves in the city housing the Fairy-type Gym.
Strangely enough, my most badass member isn't the Lucario that can Mega Evolve but the Azumarill I got on Route 3. She hasn't once fallen in the Red, pretty much has either 1-shotted or 2-shotted everything that didn't resist her since Level 30ish, and can basically walk in nearly anything and not give two damns before returning the favor.
The funny thing is that I have probably have a double-digit count on the things that died to me via Flame Body or Rocky Helmet recoil.
Eh Laverre is on the other side of route 14, which is supposed to have tons of rain. That's where you catch Goomy after all.

Hey, Squab. So Morpha the Sliggoo defeated Olympia's Meowstic and reached level 49. Now Lysandre calls and says "Hi. Sorry about this, but going to wipe you all out. Bye." What should have been the most climatic way to invoke Eleventh Hour Superpower in the last mon on my team evolving to its last stage is being negated by one fact.
WHY NO RAIN, KALOS?
I know. At least for me it wasn't an 11th hour thing.
Most guides I've seen say Monday before 12:00 or 1:00 or something is good. Basically Monday morning. From personal experience, THAT DIDN'T [bleep]ING WORK FOR ME.
I finally went back to the date I caught goomy, and the approximate time. I know it was raining when I caught goomy. But it didn't rain on route 14 when I went back to then. Thankfully, it rained in Cyllage.

I saved that as a text file once I got it to effing rain so I could evolve my mon into Goodra. Hopefully that helps.

Salamence beats up Mawile for a while. Takes her to red, hyper potion. Salamence beats her up a bit more. Mawile has raised her defense and lowered Salamence's. Time for Garchomp Dig! Defeated.
Mr Mime. Get Crunched by Tyrantrum! Next. Sylveon. Face Charizard since he hasn't faced battle yet.
Mega evolve! Fire Pledge! Does damage. Sylveon hits back. Fire Pledge again!
Sylveon fainted!

Being 10 levels higher then all the mons helps. Time for the gym leader. Opening with Salamence.

Goodra took another few hits. Using a weak special attack move that's weak against dragons against a dragon with obscenely high special defense. Not working out well. Still, for second mon switching him out. Water/fairy face Garchomp, Dragon/Ground! Dig. You die.

Goodra won, but took another hit. Now in the red. Goodra has great special def, but won't last much longer.

First battle: Haxorus is down. The rest of my mons are undamaged. Off to a bad start.

Yeah. I found it but it took forever. The worst part was every time I googled it, it came up with "Monday after 12:00 it will rain on route 14" AND IT DIDN'T.

I have a text file that I saved when and where I found rain.
So. Time for the fairy gym.

Haxorus lvl 50 Dragon Type
Goodra lvl 50 Dragon Type
Garchomp lvl 50 Dragon/Ground Type
Salamence lvl 51 Dragon/Flying Type
Tyrantrum lvl 51 Rock/Dragon Type
Charizard lvl 50 Fire/Flying Type - mega evolves to Dragon/Flying Type
Like most gyms, I refuse to use potions, healing items, or to run back to the Pokecentre half way through. And I have to defeat all the trainers.
(Only time I recall doing it was the gym where I used it to train a pokemon instead of just using my high leveled ones.)
Let's see how this goes.

I'm gonna level up Fraxure, Gabite and Shelgon at the same time. Each of them will evolve because of this. Booya =D

Well it's a Goodra now.
Once I get the berry I'll figure out how to take a picture.
