  1. 1. Totally. I see that looking at the before/after pictures. 2. I didn't know that. I myself could stand to lose 10 pounds or something like that. I weigh like 145 and I'm like 5'11". Although ideally, I would want to gain weight with muscle mass..... Wut? I'm basically 6"00 and when I was 140 I was just skin and bones.
  2. whats mumble im pretty sure my cousins friends uncles bosss nephew got a virus from it and his computer literaly exploded
  3. The real question is why do you care? If it makes them happy and doesn't hurt anyone, let them do it. Because the harm caused by an action is a terrible way of determining whether or not it is acceptable. For example, trying to shoot someone and missing isn't acceptable. How not stupid it is is a much better metric. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Your analogy is stupid. A person could have very well died. Furthermore, if a person shooting and missing is considered acceptable, the amount of people shot would likely go up because people who missed can try again. The harm, including potential, intended, unintended and actual harm are, combined, a very good way to judge whether or not something is acceptable. I am not stupid enough to think only the direct harm caused by something is a good metric for measuring whether or not it is good or bad. Furthermore.... fashion is stupid. You want to go after ripped jeans because they're stupid? How about high heels while you're at it. Designer clothes. The diamond and jewel market.

  5. I'm usually pretty good at letting that kind of stuff go. Sure, I don't get it, but if it makes someone happy and doesn't hurt someone else, go for it. And by "hurt someone else" I'm not including "someone chose to be butthurt by this" in the category of "hurts someone else."
  6. Hah! I know right? I thought about asking for advice on that thread but I have a pretty good idea what sort of advice I'd get. I have talked to irl friends about it. j/k the real world doesn't exist
  7. Muggi's strategy for avoiding unwanted kids. His username: iwanna[bleep]gilfs
  8. [spoiler=What passes in my life for drama that I don't wanna be a llama about] Hey Mr Thinker, updates on this? Weeeeeelllll. She's... been through a lot in her past. I've had moments where I'm thinking "my life sucks because X reasons" and these days when that happen I'm like "hey remember her life story nope my life is unicorn and rainbows." Reason I bring this up is she... isn't particularly huggy. Or kissy. Or hands-holdy. Yeaaaahhh. Funnn. (Sarcasm in case it doesn't read through text.) For some unknown reason I still want to be with her and move glacier slow at her pace. Oh and between baby sitting and a new job she's been almost impossible to spend time with the past few weeks. ..... So. I'm not a fan of sharing bad news. Plus, I just don't want to hear people say I should end things with her regardless of how valid their advice may or may not be. Hence the lack of updates. EDIT: Balls, why is this on a new page.
  9. I'm in. I wonder if this would be the sort of thing done over forums so all of us with our different lives and time zones have time to respond or just a bunch of us set aside a particular time and do it?
  10. Ah. I think I see where you're coming from. Do you think you've completely bailed from that ship?
  11. It's the tone. "Women are biologically geared to want children. Childless women in their late 30's or early 40's (what few there are) have a biological clock screaming at them to get pregnant. Their main goal out of a sexual encounter or partner is to get pregnant. If you want to avoid becoming a father, avoid these women at all costs." Anyone objecting to Blackdragon's statement probably wouldn't object to mine. But does the advice of my statement actually differ in any way from his? There is a scientific principle about humans. I don't remember the name, but basically we view things in black and white. Studies have shown that, all other things being equal, we are more inclined to trust a highly attractive person over a mediocre looking person. Similarly, we are inclined to not trust the advice of blackdragon because he comes across as misogynistic. His tone is one that, quite frankly, I find disgusting and misogynistic. And quite frankly the average human brain is not designed to separate the validity of a statement from the tone of it. Quite frankly, an effective communicator of information will write the information in a way that leaves out his own personal biases. EDIT: rocc0 what do you think of my rephrasing? I'm legitimately curious.
  12. Personally, I think it's more the tone of the advice that's irking. The tone of it paints women as manipulative, lying creatures who are controlled by their hormones and probably don't know what they actually want. Trust goes both ways tho. Imho, someone who get's offended and angry that you won't trust them at their word is, more likely then not, a liar. The part that bugs me is the abortion talk. He thinks it's evil for a woman to have a child against a man's will. Well, it's also pretty evil for a man to coerce a woman into an abortion that she doesn't really want. I do agree that talking about what you'll do if she gets pregnant BEFORE she gets pregnant is a good idea. An angry breakup because they have different views/values on what will happen in the case of a hypothetical child is much, much better then a single mom and an absentee father who may or may not be paying child support he was forced to pay.
  13. I work in IT and we do. I am completely unsurprised by this. Altho, question, what do you need to get hired? I feel like you need more then to just go to an interview and say "I don't know much but I'm willing to google people's tech problems."
  14. I'm of the opinion that a lot of people would rather just ask for help rather then google it. My theory is asking for help means "some other person fixes my problem" vs "I try and fix my own problem." Like seriously tho, I think someone could make a living by googling the solution to people's problems for them. Also... it seems kinda clear what you don't know exactly what you're typing, 'cause I basically read "I'd rather someone tell me an obvious lie then an obvious lie"? I don't see why you're so worked up over some girl you don't seem to actually like.
  15. I was at a comedy club and I responded. If anyone in here has verizon has a carrier you'll know my pain, hopefully. Constantly, I'll send messages and they just won't go through; even with plenty of cell service. There's no reason for it to happen. I have no idea why it happens. It isn't my phone as far as I can tell. I don't have any weird glitches or problems. After the show I checked my phone and saw it didn't go through. Regardless, I was still an hour late but she already knew of my phone problems. Her knowing that your phone has problems doesn't change the fact that, from her perspective, your reply came an hour late. What, is she supposed to call you after 5 minutes if you don't respond in case your phone doesn't send a message? -> text asking for help -> no answer -> 15 minutes later no answer -> it's been 15 minutes so I'ma start googling this now -> actually internet has FB and things -> half an hour later -> okay I'll actually google this now -> 20 minutes later (50 minutes from when text was sent) -> here's my answer! -> hour after text is sent -> hey I can come over and help if you want Even if my message did go through on time, what would the difference be? Every time something is supposed to happen I feel like I need to grab a pickaxe and a spelunker helmet so I can get information. > when is the prom >> idk > where is prom >> idk etc etc So ultimately, what difference does it make? :( I'm just talking about this one particular incident. She asks for help, you answer an hour later and by then she's got the problem solved. I don't understand what the issue is. I feel like I'm missing or forgetting some vital information here.

  17. Honestly, I wish we lived in a world where we could just say "I don't want to hang out with you tonight" and call it a [bleep]ing day. In the long run, I'd rather deal with someone who's upfront about it. Also I don't see why you're so upset when, from what I recall, your response was an hour late. Imho, you're the cause of your anger, not her.
  18. For separate endeavors yeah In other news, a girl on POF has her occupation set as "future nurse." Well shit, I should just change my occupation to "future retired trillionaire" since we're allowed to do that ftfy
  19. Feet are usually my weakness, but I have to agree with you that I seriously [bleep]ed the legs up. On a fun note, I am surprised airbrush is better at lineart than pencil or brush. Note sure if the piece would be worth sharing since it's in a boring (although much more familiar) pose. @Mere: Unfortunately, I know way too many people here who fit that category. They even use the word towards other white people. Probably listen to too much gangsta rap. They don't truly know what it means if they use it towards other white guys. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if some people use it as a synonym for bro.
  20. I'm straight and white and don't use the n word gratuitously.
  21. It goes both ways I think, there are honestly those who suffer from real issues which are not well understood or appreciated, but likewise there are those out there who are merely in it to seek attention and by doing so only make a mockery of the real issue. Honestly I think of them as "rebels without a cause." You get people who want to rebel, want to "stick it to the man," who want to stand up for oppressed minorities. The problem is they don't actually have a cause to start with, they just want a cause. Alternately they are dumb teenagers who view the world as black and white instead of the many shades of grey it is, and then based on biased information (because, let's be honest, getting non-biased information is virtually impossible) they decide what's good and what's bad and start attacking what they think of as bad. There's actually something immensely satisfying about self-righteous indignation. There's something immensely satisfying about ruthlessly attacking something when you believe you have the morale high ground. When you believe something is evil, you can be as evil as you want to it and you're "right" because you're attacking evil. You aren't being evil at this point, you're just giving it (the evil) what it deserves. I believe some of the greatest evil in the world comes out of this mindset. The best example I can think of is crusades and inquisitions - talking about more recent example just feels dark.
  22. I don't understand how tumblr works. Like, people talk about how tumblr is full of porn and these social justice warriors. And I'm like, tumblr is just where you host a blog. I don't understand how you like, "travel" it or explore it or anything.
  23. Yeah but at the same time your stock cubes would be pretty shitty without chicken noodle soup.
