  1. Hmm... there is some merit in this idea for increasing the power of regular arrows. Just at the basic level of using better wood for better arrows, considering how woefully underpowered short/longbows tend to be.
  2. I'm not an expert in building computers, but given how much computers improve over the course of a year, I don't think you should look into it now. Your title says in the near future of a year or more, so that's when you should start looking tbh.
  3. The mother [bleep]ing spade that you can't use at barrows or at clue scrolls? The fact that there are two things you can do with logs? If you only have a knife or tinderbox, the default option for the logs is the knife or tinderbox. You could store the sextant in there. It could allow the storage of higher level pickaxes/woodcutting axes on the condition that you lose them if you die. (It's worth noting that hatches/pickaxes should be the only potential items to lose upon death with the toolbox. Also, in all honesty, it wouldn't be broken if you could use the toolbox to spawn unlimited tools of the kind you can currently put in the toolbelt.) Potential glitches. Oh look, another reason why we should be able to remove tools. This one probably qualifies under "potential glitches."
  4. If you want to complain about the tools, complain about how they were poorly implemented. People like convenience. Although dying is a joke, I much prefer it to the "only keep 3 items system" which can really, really hurt people. PVP is different because don't depend on an RNG for drops and the thrill of potentially taking another player's items, not to mention the fact that facing an actual human being is quite different from facing a CPU, because honestly all CPUs get fairly predictable and grindy after a while. PVP is not considered griny and definitely not predictable. I wouldn't mind a bigger punishment for dying; I've always thought that having to replace your gravestone EVERY time you die could work. Really inconvenient and you have to pay a fair amount. Of course, that's only if you go with 500k gravestones, and given current timers and such players would just start using the 50k ones....
  5. Well, for one thing, even back when trade was restricted, botting was fairly rampant, it's just people did it on their mains. For another thing, there might be two penguins a week tops that are in the wilderness, and Bork isn't the only source of charms in the game. It's just a more "abundant resource" in terms of charm collecting. Plus you can go through the chaos tunnels. As for Revs, they were put in the wilderness to try to replace the danger of the removed PK'ers (back when wilde/FT was removed) and their drops were primarily intended for PVP use. In any rate, pengs give exp or GP, and there are other ways to earn both of those without penguins.
  6. Laws don't stop things from happening. Drugs are illegal, but you can usually easily find anything up to coke on most urban middle schools. You can ban guns, but that won't stop people from using them. Also we have no idea who the shooter was at the moment. Don't assume it was some maniac shooting up people. The article states the cop was shot at a traffic stop, I would suspect they had something in their car they didn't want the cops to know about. It sounds like a coincidence it was at V tech. And I wouldn't say something like this wouldn't happens somewhere else... http://newsfeed.time.com/2010/06/02/body-found-as-12-dead-in-u-k-shooting-massacre/ Frankly I find that "shootings at Virginia Tech" part of the title to be a little misleading at the moment, considering we don't really know the shooter or their motivation. Shooting and V Tech imply another massacre like before. When, as far as we know right now, it's not the same type of situation. In my eyes: Anyone shooting people in cold blood = maniac Plus I never said it did not happen at all elsewhere just that it happens much more frequently in the US, primarily because of their gun laws. Granted they do lower some other crime rates, like burglary but they send gun crime rates through the roof which imo is far far worse thing to have higher rate of as it means things like this happen more frequently. I agree with your sentiment, but you need to consider how many guns already ARE in America and how entrenched they are in American culture. Trying to restrict guns and make stricter gun laws in the US is extremely difficult at best, and suicidal at worst. Sad to hear about this btw =/
  7. This part made me laugh out loud: "Not today, gay marriage!" Two. BOYS. Under the blanket. ... Am I a horrible person?
  8. You're already the Therapist and TheRapist. That's why you need to stop Ambling.
  9. And you can get in with a full tool belt. Seems like this invalidated a big part of Lost City  Bwahahahahahaha! They still need to fix the toolbelt tho. Meow.
  10. You're implying that it WILL turn you soulless tho.
  11. John Cheese's articles will do that tbh. On a completely unrelated note:
  12. Pretty sure Q was here for some of it.
  13. They wouldn't care. As long as it doesn't have a dick, they would be fine with it. So, they'd be fine with you dating a eunuch? Also, this thread appears to have returned to it's regular debauchery, as opposed to the deep conversation we were having about the failings of the public school system and how it should be improved.
  14. The goal of the American education system is an equal education for each child? I know very little about the American education system, but from what I've heard of school districts, this sounds like bullshit. Could someone please enlighten me? I'm sure I'm missing something. Also agree with the whole writing thing. Basically, beginner writing courses you're taught to follow a formula, advanced writing courses teach you to forget the [bleep]ing formula. I actually think it's a good idea for the option to opt into trade schools at 16. I knew several high school kids who knew that they had to complete high school because they'd be pretty [bleep]ed in life if they didn't, yet didn't not see any conceivable way their diploma would help them in life. (Beyond being able to say, hey, look at me, I have a HS diploma.) Not to mention a lot of crap we learn in high school is useless. Social studies (a combination of geography, history and politics) is a fascinating subject, yet not practical. A good deal of English is useless, particularly those essay formulas. When I was taking my Grade 12 math diploma review, the instructor (very good teacher who was paid very good money to help us get a very good mark on the exam) straight up told us that most of us would not need to remember most of the stuff we studied after we completed the exam... Yeah, come to think of it, the Canadian school system could use some work as well. Honestly, after like 16 school should be optional. I knew many high school kids who were only in high school because they system demanded it, and they weren't going to drop out. They still put in minimal effort. I think it's common for someone to goof off in high school, because they don't see the point of it and slack off and party or something, then once they're like 20 they realize that, [bleep], they need to go back to school. Also, this is a good read: http://www.cracked.com/blog/5-ways-we-ruined-occupy-wall-street-generation/ Cracked really has some good stuff every now and then. About half of it is written by John Cheese.
  15. What some people need to realize is that the efficient way of playing RS, figuring out best exp/h, etc, is actually a huge turn-off to some peoplke. For some people, it takes all the joy out of the game. Really, with a lot of games, video (game) or not, some people are the type of person who metagames and figures out the best way to do something, whereas some people find that putting that much effort into the game makes it more like work then play. (And depending on the game, might find it unfair - RS example would ancients and claw specs in PVP or something.) Plus, insulting people just makes mods ban you/ That being said... tipit is not able to regognize H&A trolling. There are probably quite a few people who are successful trolls there, because if they act stupid and ignorat, efficianados start getting angry and offensive and tipit starts banning them. I actually remember in one thread, I posted a image that said "not sure if trolling or just stupid" because, honestly... The guy was either a moron or a troll. (Imo, he was probably a good troll. Well, that might just be me trying to be optimistic.) I haven't gotten banned, yet, but I've recieved my share of warnings recently :P
  16. Well all I have to say is that "taunting" doesn't work on me because if they complain about me "safing", I'll really safe, and if they complain about my P neck, I'll wear it the whole fight, etc. And for making me angry to stay longer, I always fight until death, unless if they're complete punks like that 1 guy, because losing 200k isn't that big of a deal but most of the time I don't have to worry about running because they always tele/run before me. You can only control your own actions. The only real PK'ing rules are the in-game rules and, well, how the game works. No rule or game mechanic says you can't safe in a fight or wear a P neck. Smilarly, no rule in the game says they can't run if they think they will die. You can't do anything about someone running just like they can't do anything about you safing or the P neck. PK'ers are actually a lot like little kids: they make up arbitrary rules they expect you to follow just because it helps them win. If the game mechanics allow it and it doesn't break a rule (i.e. a glitch) then it's 100% acceptable to due it while PK'ing. Elitist's view of the world: If someone is lower level than them, they're noob / kid. If they're a higher level, they need to get a life and/or are bots. That attitude is not just in PKing. Though PKing is the place where it's the most rampant. Did you steal that from my sig or something? To be fair, it's just a quote from someone else. Also, I'm curious about what you define elitist as. Either way, it probably applies to more then just elitists. Hardly true. While PvP is better in WoW, trust me when I say they have their fair share of 'moronic childish taunting'. As for everything else, well, I honestly don't know how to take it. It makes very little sense. Rather than actually criticizing PvP in runescape I think you just don't like danger when you go out into the wilderness... I don't like the danger. It's really unfair that a player can use a mage spell to freeze and teleblock you, swipe you once with a ddp++, dragon claws twice, and your dead. It's no wonder RS membership has plummeted. RS membership plummeted because of bot nuking? To some people, the risky wilderness is the appeal of RS and what sets it apart from other games. Just stay out of the wilderness.
  17. What is that from... I feel like I can't comment on the school thing, since American schools sound fairly different from Canadian ones. I didn't really put much thought into the public school system either... well, there's the fact that in junior high and maybe high school, mostly chicks get on the honour role... Kinda coasted through High School. I don't study enough, and some courses I really get bit in the ass. Other courses I can just breeze through. I'm sposed to be fairly intelligent... but I don't put enough effort into school tbh. Need to study moar.... Idk =/
  18. I hate it when people ask a question on forums, then post saying they found the answer without mentioning what the answer is because they think that they're the only one who wants to know. Lol. Jagex needs to add a way to take items out of the toolbox and it will be perfect. Well, except for ruining some novelty skilling items. If it wasn't for firemaking, I'd almost think it would be better off if the toolbox added item storage and we had to take the items out to use them. Tbh, add the long awaited Burn-X then do that :P They relented ;) Is nice. What's the recharge time? How long do they last for? There's no info on that on the loyalty shop screen, are they permanent while equipped?Lasts for 1 hour and takes 3 hours to recharge, and no the wings don't last after the aura depletes. Well that'd be pretty hard to implement, I mean you'd have to have the option of digging everywhere, whereas its use in farming doesn't use the dig function.Simple solution: be able to take items OUT of the toolbox. Another thing, if you put in tinderbox and no knife, you get left-click firemaking. If you put in the knife you have to right click. Know what would solve this? Taking the knife out of the toolbox. Ohwaityoucan't. What about making barrows like farming patches? A "patch" you have to dig at the top of each barrow? Or would that break something I'm not thinking of. Barrows could work... stuff like clues, not so much.

  20. WHAT IS THE POINT OF ALWAYS HAVING A SPADE ON YOU WHEN YOU CAN'T [bLEEP]ING USE IT AT BARROWS @@@@ //rage Yes, caps lock was necessary. No, you can't take the spade OUT.
