What are you talking about? The Gameboy micro is made for people who don't own a Gameboy Advance yet, Nintendo isn't expecting people who already own a GBA to buy this as well, but they obviously wouldn't mind. Changeable faceplates (which protect the screen), made of metal, awesome looks and a great size make this a winner. I don't own a GBA yet, and this is going to be my first one. I'm definately glad Nintendo made this. I'm getting it for the size and looks. The faceplates are gonna be awesome. Here's a Japanese list. Number 54 is awesome! I'm getting the silver Gameboy micro right at launch in the Netherlands (November 4th). :)

Uuuh. No. The iPod Nano is ridiculously easy to scratch. An incredible amount of people are complaining about it. So I think Apple did something wrong here. People should have waited for the second generation nano. :P

Consoles > PC Simply because, when developers develop for, example, Playstation 2 or PC, it's better for Playstation 2. When developers go and create a game, they obviously need to know what the capabilities are of the system they are developing for (graphical prowess, sound, controls). With every Playstation 2, the system is precisely, exactly the same. This is far from the truth when it comes to PCs.

I think they also support microsoft and the xbox 360  You call that support!? That's just a PC port! X360 will have some nice games (PGR3 is frickin' awesome), but if you intend to buy an X360 just for Square-Enix, bad idea. Very bad idea. They're hardly supporting the X360.
-
The what now? :| Indeed.
-
I thought you were a Square-Enix fan? Square-Enix is supporting Playstation 3, Nintendo Revolution and Nintendo DS. They're hardly supporting Xbox or X360.

What you think of sales is irrevelant to me, I'm here to answer Trapical's qusetions.

I got a sales update for ya, for the people interested. These are the most recent numbers, as of September 2005 (including sold units in all of September). Sales of DS and PSP in the United States. DS - 2,240,895 PSP - 2,028,530 In the coming weeks and months will see some great releases for both DS and PSP, and a historic moment for Nintendo as they release the first online game ever on the Nintendo DS on the 14th of November. GTA:LCS for the PSP is also a big one.

Yeah, I guess the sales of the Nintendo handhelds shows that, huh?

What are you guys talking about? This deal is a good idea. I can go to McDonalds, have a coke and play some Mario Kart DS for free. :)
-
Knowing what I know now, I don't think that will happen anytime soon. Someone disastrous will have to happen to the DS if the PSP beats it world-wide.

Sales in the UK, last week: Nintendo DS - 24,492 PSP - 18,723 GBA SP - 8,799 Looks like the Nintendogs had a good effect, to say the least. :P

Oh no, make no mistake, it is doing horrible in the US, in my opinion. It was released back in 2004, November 21st, yeah? Yup. Took so many months just to get to 2 million. Nintendo of America needed Nintendogs very badly. In a few weeks (14 November), Mario Kart DS, Nintendo's first online game, will be released, along with Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. I'm thinking it will give Nintendo DS that little extra boost to keep it going strong and keep it away from the clutches of Sony's PSP.

I'd say the contrary. With PSP's Killer App coming out a week from Tuesday, I bet that PSP sales are going to go up exponentially. GTA games have always done alright in Japan, but extremely well in North America. I can't really say how many people are getting PSP's just for this game, but I'm betting on a lot. Then they'll tell friends...And so on. Not really. What's really holding the PSP back from exploding in terms of sales is the price. You'd think a lot of people would get PSPs just to play GTA (I like GTA, personally), but they will say "no" to the $250 pricetag. GTA:LCS will cost $50, so that's basically $300 to play a game based on an extremely popular franchise. It's also possible that constumers perceive LCS as an updated GTAIII and not as something new (it doesn't have a new style like Vice City and San Andreas). But it will very likely be the best-selling PSP game, and will definately drive up sales of the PSP for a while.

Who cares about sales? Well, it says a lot of things. For example, if a certain product is selling very good, like the DS, you can expect a continuation/sequel to the product in the future (enhanced DS, like GBA and GBA SP, or a new DS in a few years from now). It also tells you how well the product will be supported by third parties. Now, if the DS was selling a lot worse than it is now, and PSP would be leading the way, there would be more third party support for the PSP, and not for DS (and since it is DS that is selling best, it has the most third party support, surprise surprise). As for software sales, it tells you a lot as well. For example, if Okami (PS2), a new game by Capcom (Clover Studios) that's yet to be released, sells very bad, they will forget about developing a sequel. If it sells extremely well, on the other hand, it will be likely that they will create a sequel for it on the PS3 or something. If Okami would have been a multiplatform title and would appear on both Gamecube and PS2, and if it turns out to sell a lot worse on Gamecube than on PS2, they'll forget about releasing the sequel on the Gamecube (or Revolution).

In Japan, DS is leading big-time. It's doing enormously well. It's sold ~3.4 million, while PSP has sold ~1.8 million. In the US, the DS is leading as well by approx. 200,000 units (I expect this gap to grow bigger). In the US, the DS is leading with ~2 million units, the PSP is at ~1.8 million units. The PSP is doing a lot better than I thought in the US. I don't have any numbers for you in Europe, but the DS is leading there as well. I'm thinking the PSP is doing well in Europe, just like the US, except it's being sort of held back due to shortages (Sony tries, but, apparently, not hard enough). The numbers I gave you are very recent. Also, the PSP hasn't sold that well in September (last month) in the US, disappointing numbers. I should note, Nintendogs were released for Nintendo DS in late-August in the US... In Japan, PSP was leading (not overal sales, it was catching up to DS sales quickly) until... Nintendogs were released. Ever since, DS sales has been extremely good. Nintendogs is the first real killer-app for DS, it has a massive appeal and it's selling very well in all territories. DS is leading in terms of world-wide sales, I don't expect this to change anytime soon. In five years from now, I expect the DS to be leading in overal sales. The one, main advantage the DS has over the PSP is cost. The success of the GBA was thanks to it's price (sub-$100).

Clicky. Uruguay on spot 25, Australia on 50. See, it's not that bad! The Netherlands number 2, woot.

Watcha talkin' bout, foo'. South-Korea didn't have that many good players, and look how far Guus Hiddink brought them in the World Championship last time.

The first GBA is a POS. :) The screen is way too dark. Gameboy micro FTW! That's a pretty damn good deal. :P

You just bought that?! Bubsa, do you realize there is an updated GBA SP out there? It's got a new screen, it's incredibly bright and vivid. Great colours. Here's a pic: Same price as a regular GBA SP. You can recognize GBA SP with improved screens by the box, it's says new brighter screen or something.
