  1. Lol don't know why, but i thought *staves* (excuse the sp. mistake  ) gave def exp. Dam, what a loser i am... Thanks for the help.
  2. My magic is 27 on my pure at the moment, and i'm interested in getting it to 59/60. Just wondered what was the quickest or cheapest way to get there. I don't use staffs due to defence exp. and i'm F2P. Thanks for reading; any advice appreciated. :)
  3. What your boy said above. You don't need defence for F2P pking, however at the higher levels in P2P it can become handy. Have a search on Graveyard Discussion H&A.
  4. I'd recommend going for NPC's with a high hp. For example, on the 2nd floor of the white knights in falador, there's a torture room with a few respawn points. Good maybe for mage training due to armour. However i've only tried training there so far with range so not too sure if it's profitable in terms of exp. In terms of ranging, i like the guards at edgeville jail. Try to find a spot where the number of NPC's count is high, respawn is quick, and their hp is relatively high to their combat level  e.g. men at edgeville; pretty low hp, however fast respawn and plenty of them, therefore good quick exp. (for lower levels, say training from 1-40 strength).
  5. SCORE! Every less click counts, lobby fishing F2P is pretty tiring anyway. *Scampers off with 30gp to go sunbathe in karamja*
  6. Just wanted to say great guide, seriously helped me out in training my pure up. Di_0medes Att:40, Def:1, Str:51, Range:44, Magic:1, HP:46, Combat:41 All this as of yet, of course going for the hybrid (got a hell of a lot of runes in my bank ready for the mage :D ). Enjoyed the read, and has inspired me with my pure. Thanks very much  Good luck with the pking, not that it looks like you need it...
  7. Its possible if you restore down both I.E's. Then you can resize each box so that it fits half the screen, and then drag both boxes so that they are on opposite corners or opposite sides of the screen. Absolutely awesome idea, just tried myself while mining. :D Hope i helped.
  8. I liked the guards at edgeville. Pretty good training. Scorpians are good as well.
  9. I think definitely get your runecrafting to 44 for the natures. Prayer is also much more useful P2P, so get that up to say 45. I think fishing also you might want to get up high. Very useful  Catherby :) Also good advice is to look at some of the skill guides for members and look to get some items ready for those skill e.g. feathers for fletching. Most of all enjoy it when it comes :)
  10. I believe it all really depends on what your going for. My pure at the moment is Attack-40, Strength-50, Defence-1, Range-40, Magic-1, Hp-44 Combat 40. I like the approach of keeping melee as my main combat type and training range and mage for the extra hp levels. However of course if you want to keep a lower combat, train mage using spells like curse, as doomster said, as this will not give you hp exp. It also holds true that raising magic and range on the side increases your defence for each ability, and this is especially useful if your not gaining combat levels. I personally prefer the extra hp compensating with a few extra combat levels :) Also, if you are F2P i wouldn't be getting prayer; it's just not worth it at lower levels, especially without prayer pots and the like. Hope i helped a bit...
  11. I'm smithing (as in mining and smelting) 5000 mith bars at the moment. (Yes it's hard work... ) If you consider the profits... I make mith bars, smelting 5000 gets me 531319 exp If i sell for 1K each i make 5mil I can then buy another 20,000 coal for 4mil and i've got another 1mil spare to keep (considering i mine the mith ore). Or i can buy more mith. Then i can make another batch. Doesn't seem that profitable but it's a snowball effect. If you want to gain levels effectively, put the money back into the skill your raising. Hopefully, it'll pay back eventually. :D Money sitting in the bank is useless. You might as well spend it on something that's going to pay dividends at a later date. Well, that's my view anyway  maybe just words coming from a skill-slave with no pocket money
  12. If you are 62 range you got to have at least 333,804 exp. For level 70 your looking at getting around 565000 exp. There's a start...
  13. To be honest, i think a great place to train range at that level until about 40 is the guards at edgeville. Close the gate and reap the exp. Trained my hybrid pure here for ages (only 40 range at the mo). Used steel arrows. I'm sure there's better suggestions for P2P, but for F2P and for me it floats my boat
  14. Mith bars seems a good idea. Used to make batchs of 100 barsand sell to a mate, making 100K at a time. Nice little earner. 8-)
  15. Well not sure if this if this is right, most likely to be the Pillory Random Event. But... In RSC i used to train down in varrock sewers and there always used to be high level players who used to take mid-levelers down to 'protect' them and make random claims of 'getting them rich' and whatnot. Odviously if they didn't bring a weapon they couldn't get out, and hence died and lost their stuff. I suppose it was a form of luring, don't think it happens these days (at least not at varrock sewers... ), due to axe respawn + it's easier to get out. I'd go for the Pillory Random Event :)
