  3. I said realistic ways  even though that's not what the question asked for.. Magics aren't cost-effective
  4. Fastest ways to train skills realistically..coming from me :) Attack, Defence, Strength, HP, Range = Pest Control * Magic = Pest Control (or superheating) Prayer = D bones at guilded alter Cooking = Sharks with cooking gaunts WC = Draynor Willows Fletching = Stringing magics Fishing = Fly fishing in shilo Firemaking = Yews Crafting = Blue bodies Smithing = Steel plates or superheating gold with smith gaunts Mining = Was granite when I played, but now iron under lumby castle (asuming u DO need waterskins) Herblore = Range pots Agility = Ape atoll (or wilderness for some fun too  ) Theiving = Pyramid Slayer = Lost city slayer master (14-15k per hour if using cannon) Farming = Magics, calquats, palms Runecraft = Hire nature runners Hunter = Haven't played since its been in game Construction = Oak larders with oak planks * Training combat stats are most time-effective if only training them while slaying Although the question says "cost doesn't matter", some of the ideas wouldnt be possible even if u had unlimited money to spend..so yeah..these are the methods I used..
  5. U've made a good point, but I don't think that the introduction of skill capes would have made that much of an impact. Taking the example of logs again..Sure, the demand for logs for fletching and firemaking may have risen slightly due to people wanting a skill-cape for those 2 skills, but so would the supply of logs due to people CUTTING the logs to get the wc skill-cape. I dare say wc is a much more popular skill than fm, and the existance of a fm skill-cape isn't going to make a large amount of people think "oo let's spend X amount of money to get a fm skill-cape", if they weren't already going to do so anyway. The game basically has 3 categories of players: - Those who mostly train skills - Those who mostly make money - Those who just have fun and do a bit of everything On the whole, people aren't going to be swayed into aiming for skill-capes if they already spend their time making money or doing other things (of course, there will be exceptions) People that already skill will continue to skill, people that make money will continue to make money. Basically I agree there may be a relationship, but theres definitely not a strong or significant one. Not sure why everyone's been so wrapped up in the idea of party hats = skill-capes..money has always been "worth" xp, and xp has always been "worth" something. Money is stored ability to do things in game, whether that be buying a phat or a 99-skill. Of course phats and 99-skills are the same. If u have 200m spare cash for example, u have a choice to either use it on a phat or a 99-skill. People take the opportunity cost of buying (or keeping) a phat to buy a 99-skill instead - that's always been the case while I played. The only difference is that the oportunity cost of the 99-skill is perhaps greater because u can't sell it for the amount spent on it again as u can for a phat, but yeah..that's not relevant... I definitely agree with u here :) And I dare say I know more about cash vs. skills than anyone here..so it's true.. Plus, I don't think most people understand the term "opportunity cost" :P Edit: Whoever claimed that people with phats scammed/hacked/cheated to get them..just..no. I worked for my wealth, and happily gave it all away to my friends that deserved it for being such great friends.
  6. If u get bored training agility do it in wildy where I did it  The pkers up there were just funny Get halfway by this weekend

Wow.. nice to know people think of me in that way  Just for the record..I am only "Sediti0n" in runescape. People that have used my name in any other places/games/forums etc aren't me.
  9. That's what I did - hence the lack of hearing anything about me til I quit. It's a good way to do it..u feel relaxed doing the last EASY skills. Definitely get slayer and mining out of the way anyway  I'd also recommend planning farming well in advance - seeds take ages to buy (unless things have changed since I left). I found it was best to have a farming post open on the forum at any time when ur in an easy trading place where ur not moving about (draynor willows = perfect place to train and buy/sell on forum). Also with farming ur limited how much xp u can get a day (using trees u can't get much over 150k xp a day etc, depending what times u can play), so plan ahead :) I found farming was perhaps the most awkward to keep doing every day and having seeds stocked, while training other things at the same time.

Yeah - the community is what made leaving so hard
  11. Thought I'd pop by with a few words of encouragement. I remember seeing u at abby demons a lot on my way to 99 slayer. All 99s isn't that hard rly, and it looks like ur going the right way about it :P I had to RC to afford all 99s as well..although somehow I ended up with 800m too much. Don't try to make too much money like I did - might save u a few hours work. Shame we never got to know each other in game. U'll be passing me in no time :) Looks like u've got everything planned out, but if u have any small questions feel free to ask (msn?). Good luck. I'll be watching.

In a word..no planesrock - To get money I mainly crafted nature runes. Made about a billion worth from rares appreciating and runecrafting. I didn't join soon enough to get cheap rares either. Luke - I quit because I disliked the game as well as the fact it was running my life. The only thing I liked about the game was player vs. player, which, to be honest, is stupid anyway. Pking alone isn't possible unless you want to be savaged by 50 people you happen to bump into on the way.

Thanks everyone. My account remains in lumbridge, wearing a ring of life given to me by Lon3 Wo7f, for the same symbolic reason as N0valyfe's ring of life :3>
  15. Ohh now I have to choose which one I want :wall: They all look so pretty
  16. I'd make them myself if I felt like wasting money on the gold leaves
  17. Tried posting this elsewhere but didn't get a particularly good response. I've only seen the Bob and Zamorak guilded icons, and the pictures in the knowledge base are unclear. Anyone have pics of the Sara and Guthix ones? 8-)
  18. I only saw him a few times. The first time he was being harassed by people at fast free laws, and he ended up logging out. I felt sorry for him because he was trying to be friendly to everyone while they were hurling abuse :( The second time he was runecrafting via the abyss and there were many high levels trying to PK him. It's truely amazing that someone that gets treated in this way still manages to be so friendly to everyone. I certainly know I wouldn't be able to. Definitely one of the nicest people to ever play this game. RIP
  19. Rofl! I was about to say that :( People with low defence get killed, a lot. A bit of both works wonders.
  20. Blimey you're too clever  Nice, interesting article. One thing I would say, you asumed that construction would be "at least" half as popular, and provided estimates based on it being half as popular. No doubt in a few months it will be a lot less than half as popular as is has been, so perhaps in a few months it won't have anywhere near as much "drainage power" as predicted. I think that more money is entering the game now through high-alching etc. than it was when you last did the estimates for total GP, seeing as there are more people playing the game (I believe this is backed up by one of your graphs). Asuming this, the average GP income into the game inbetween these two times should infact be less than the actual GP income today. Therefore more money is entering the game every day than predicted. Combining this with construction becoming less popular, the affect of construction on the market may not be as great as it seems in the long-term. No doubt it'll still remain a large money drain, though. As to the comments about marble blocks, gold leaves etc.. I believe that these do drain a lot of money out of the game at the moment, but these are purely short-term purchases. Once every rich person has already used these to decorate their house as they wish, they can no longer use any more of these items, so it will no longer have much effect (Unless they completely destroy their house and start again, which won't happen). I personally know nothing about economics so I may be talking rubbish. Just my thoughts :)
  21. If theres one thing I've learnt from playing RS, it's that if theres a way to annoy someone, people will do it, no matter what. [i realise this doesn't apply to most people] Take mining as another example. You're mining, surrounded by other rocks to mine. Where will someone try to mine? At the same rock as you. They do it to be annoying. Apparently it's "fun" to annoy people and waste their time. They can't say they do it for money, since the RCers make money at least 5 times faster than them. Agree with your post 100%. Don't care about glories, but why the pouches?! :)
  22. In order of good-ness: 1) Black cav 2) Robin [if the outfit is right] 3) Black wizard hat Then obviously - party hats. These depend too much on hair colour though :)
