  1. 949. Nope, no special drawings or jokes.
  2. False. TPUM is posting right now.
  3. Non, never heard of it. Disco
  4. Good luck! I would donate something, but I'm too uptight.
  5. Spot on, but I'm not sure I have enough money. And Besides, I'll just get to 60 range and get red D hide.
  6. The title pretty much speks for the goal. I wish to get level 70 magic, but using only ranging to accomplish it. The only possible way for me to do this is play Pest Control, which is, in my opinion, the most painfully (literally) boring mini-games in RuneScape. The last time i played it, I was going for 80 strength, but had to duck out at level 75 due to carpal tunnel :(. This time, I will be playing in moderation, and, as I have previously mentioned, all the points will be going to magic. Why Range? Well, as most of us know, magic is pretty expensive to level quickly and effectively. To set me at more of a disadvantage, I only have 11k. As probably none of you know, my ranging level is, as of now, 55. So why not kill three birds with one stone? Play some pc, gain some serious levels, get muchos goldos pieceinos. I'm going to try to update this at least once a day, which should keep it alive as long as you people post, too. I know you're there. Right now, I'm making 3k steel darts, which will be used as my chief ranging weapon for Pest Control. I'll probably run out, but luckily I have a few thousand arrows in my bank to back me up without interruption. During my goal, I will be wearing... D-med Darts Dragonhide body (green) D'hide vambs (green) D'hide legs (green) D'Team 26 cape Der Fighting Boots What do you know They all begin with D. Day: 1: I decided to do a little math before I start. To get to level 70, I'll need 513,928 XP. If I cash in my XP every 100 points, I should get this in 800 games, which is slightly more than I want to spend doing this. I'll go scrounge up some runes in my bank and see what I can do. The runes I have are... 18 laws 333 bodies 1691 waters 33 cosmics 1142 nats 1018 airs 51 deaths 23 chaoses 18 minds 76 earths Not a whole lot I can do with that. I do have 922 pure ess, so I guess I could make some more body runes and cast curse during Pest Control. I could fletch or something and then High Alch the stuff I make. Other than that, I'm stuck with 800 games of pest control. Day: 2: I forgot one very important aspect for my plan to work: I need to WIN some of the games. Unfortunately, some people would rather talk and trade than actually win, so I guess I'm stuck for a while. I will still persevere, and it would be a great help if someone told me good pc worlds, other than 78. Day: 3: Okay, it's official. Noobs hinder my chance of doing this with ranging, so I'm taking a different attack on it. I'm going to collect 1,000 seaweed, turn it into 1,000 soda ash, then get 1,000 buckets of sand, make 1,000 molten glass, then turn them into 1,000 uncharged orbs. I'll get my crafting to level 54, then make 1,000 water staves and high alch them. I can use the money to buy some serious death runes, and just cast fire blast from there on out. Day: 4, 5 & 6: Not a whole lot happened these days. I collected my 1k seaweed, and turned it into 1k soda ash, then I got some sand and made 1k molten glass, which in turn went to be 1k uncharged orbs. I went to the dungeon when I realised that I didn't have the crafting level necissary to make those staves, but I also didn't have my grapple. I can still enchant the orbs (I hope), but I can't attach them to staves. Day: I lost count: Still not a whole lot. I have about 680 more staves to make. I finished all of my runes, so I started attaching the orbs to the staves, which got me to 55 crafting and 400k. I spent it all on cosmic runes. If everything goes right, I'll have 2 mil. Yay!
  7. I had the very same goal, once. I didn't make it, though. Good luck!
  8. If you want stuff for F2P, try anakous and lessers, and hill giants for power training. A low-level F2P could probably make good use of your guide if you branched out more.
  9. In my defence, Woodcutting and Firemaking are combined into one guide.
  10. Ok, your way may or may not be better, but either way, I said that most of the guide was just number crunching, and your numbers were just crunched a bit more expensively.
  11. Ok, pure ess is just like regular ess, except it is the only kind of rune essence that can be used to make cosmics, deaths, chaoses, and nats.
  12. I never said you had to like it, I never said you had to agree with it, but at least tell me what I can improve on.
  13. Ok, thanks everyone!
  14. I've another guide up, for woodcutting and firemaking, f you're interested: here
  15. Trees help turn carbon dioxide from fires, humans, and car exhaust into useful oxygen that can be breathed in by people and animals. They help deplete greenhouse gases, are homes for a plethora of cute critters, and also look pretty, too. But we don't care about that. We're here to chop 'em down and burn the remains! To start, you're gonna need an axe and a tinderbox. Chances are, you have one of these from Tutorial Island. There's not a whole lot to go over that you haven't already learned from Tutorial Island, so I'm not going to waste time on repeating stuff. If you're starting from level 1, the best place to slay trees is west of Lumbridge. There's not a lot of room to burn them, though, but you can make do. So, are we ready? A NOTE BEFORE STARTING The layout of this guide will be done like the example below: Levels: Woodcutting AND firemaking Trees you're cutting: Inventories you're filling: Hints: It will address a certain range of level all the way to level 99. You'll be cutting a certain type of tree for most of that section, so it will be listed there. Filling an inventory constitutes 27 logs (wield your axe and have 1 space for tinderbox). Levels: 1-15 Trees you're cutting: Normal Inventories you're filling: 4 Hints: Normal logs give 25 XP to cut, and 40 XP to burn, so you should get your first level within three trees. Just fill up an inventory, then take it to an open area, and burn them all. Repeat this until you've reached level 15, which will be soon. Bored? That's because you're doing what is generally acknowledged as the boringest activity in runescape. Pass the time by listening to music or chatting, or you will get very, very tired very, very quickly. Levels: 15-30 Trees you're cutting: Oak Inventories you're filling: 11 Hints: Now you're moving on to the big boys. When cutting oak trees, you have a chance of getting multiple logs per tree, which means less clicking! There should be an ample supply of them around the Lumbridge Forest and Draynor, so cut trees there until you reach level 30. You can burn them inside falador, starting from the area just north of the walls, and going west until you're finished. Levels: 30-45 Trees you're cutting: Willows Inventories you're filling: 26 Hints: The best place for willows is close to Draynor bank, so when you get full inventories, you can save time by banking your logs. There is competition, though, as this is a popular spot. Just keep cutting and banking (Getting redundant, isn't it?) until you get to level 45. You can sell your willows if you want, but that's not in the spirit of the guide. Burn your logs in the marketplace until your firemaking matches your woodcutting. <<>> Levels: 45-60 Trees you're cutting: Maples or Willows Inventories you're filling: Maximum of 112 Hints: You now have a choice. Either continue to chop willows until level 60, or cut Maples (member's trees) until level 60. Keep in mind that willows will go faster, but Maples require less inventory-fulls. If you opt for Willow trees, your best option is still Draynor. The best spot for maples is above Seer's village and the path leading to Rellekka. Burn these as soon as you get them, any spot will do. Levels: 60-75 Trees you're cutting: Yews Inventories you're filling: 200 Hints: Non-members have now reached the best tree they can cut- Yews. These can sell for up to 250gp each, but they take a while to cut down, and when you burn them, it's almost like your burning money, which is why most people give up firemaking at this point. Due to the expensiveness of these logs, you can stick to Willows, which are clearly faster. If you opt to continue with yews, the best spots are behind Varrock Palace, and in some dilapidated ruins between edgeville and the Barbarian Village. Yew spots tend to not have a lot of space for burning, so banking your logs may be the way to go. As an alternative, you can just build Wakas and travel back and forth between canoe stations on the river Lum. Wakas give 150 XP to build, and you only need your axe. You can start building a canoe from Edgeville to the Goblin House in Lumbridge. The only problem is that the paddling animation gets annoying. Levels: 75-99 Trees you're cutting: Magics or Willows Inventories you're filling: (Magics) 1,751 (willows) 6,256 Hints: Finally, the Holy Grail of woodcutting for members. Magic logs. It takes a full 20 minutes to get an inventory full, and the best spots are in Seer's Village and the Tree Gnome Stronghold. Again, willows are faster if you're going for speed and 99 firemaking. Magic logs have a nice selling price, which is tentative to change, and fletchers are eager to get their hands on them. Good luck, and be ready for the longest logging haul of your life. Just to reiterate, willows are much faster than magics CONGRATULATIONS! YOU MADE IT TO 99 WOODCUTTING/FIREMAKING!!! Jungle Cleanup Near the hut of Trufitus in Tai Bwo Wannai village, you can speak to an NPC named Murcaily to begin this minigame. In this game, you must chop through jungle bushes (Light, Medium, and Dense) to make spars for the repair of the village fence. As you repair fences, hack down jungles, and kill enemies (be sure to bring anti-poison pots!), you will earn favour from the villagers, which can be traded in for trading sticks. The game is simple- just bring food, armor, a weapon, nad a machete. Guide © Heart of ink (Check out my guide on getting 99 runecrafting, too: click here
  16. Does he only attack with melee? what's his highest hit?
  17. I'm wondering whether or not my combat level (83) is high enough to beat the demon at the end of the quest without incident. By "without incident" I mean without almost dying. I'm going to use combat, since my range and magic levels are extremely low, and I have 49 prayer, which probably won't hold out. Your thoughts? Here's my strategy so far. First I will weaken him with fire bolt and fire blast, conveniently disposing of extra runes, then I'll change my armor and weapons to melee to finish him off. I finished the quest without incident, like I had hoped.
  18. -Your enemies stay still while you take turns hitting each other -If you fire an arrow at something and that something moves, the arrow follows them -The easter bunny exists -Gnomes exist -Elves exist -Most books are only a few pageslong -The majority of the human population spends their time wandering around doing quests and training, yet the economy doesn't drop into a deep depression. -If you're frustrated with the way life in runescape is working out, you can take a break. -Millions of lobsters and sharks are on the market, yet neither of them are an endangered species. - A network of magic carpets runs trips around the desert.
  19. 590! w00t!
  20. You can, but it is extremely expensive due to the price of pure ess. You lose lots of money compared to the experience you gain. That's why I suggest to mine your pure ess. It takes longer, but it's much cheaper.
  21. nah, it was easy. you just need the formulas.
  22. Ok, as usual, the first things come first. Before you even begin to craft runes, you must complete the Rune Mysteries quest. Now I know that the majority of you are experienced runescape players, but disclaimers must be disclaimed, in any case. However, even though my assumptions lead me to believe that few of you have very low runecrafting levels, I'm still going to start the guide from level 1, and stay true to the title. So, the first thing you're gonna want to do is acrue a mass of rune essence ("ess"). This is mined at the "Rune Essence Mine" (yes, the name is official enough to earn quotation marks!) which can only be accessed by being teleported by select wizards or store owners. The best for non-members is Aubury in Varrock, while the best spot for members is the Wizard's Guild in Yanille. These are both close to a bank, meaning less walking back and forth. I suggest getting 2.6k rune essence to start with. Don't worry, you'll get it fast. Once you have your large amount of rune essence, it's still not time to craft. You can't enter the runecrafting altars unless you have a talisman, which corresponds with an aforementioned altar. I suggest collecting one of each of the non-member talismans to start out with. Wizards drop all of the F2P talismans, if killing innocent mages is a path you're interested in traveling. You can also buy them off of other players, which is cheaper and involves a lot less bloodshed :). When you have all of your talismans, collect a few blank tiaras, through either purchase or through means of crafting. You can also skip a step and buy the pre-enchanted tiaras, but you'll have to craft a few more runes in the long run. So, like I was saying, you've got your talismans, you've got your ess, you've got your tiaras, you've got to GO! A note before we start: The layout of this guide will be done like the example below: Levels: Here there be the levels this section is addressing Runes you're crafting: You'll be making this type of rune Trips you're making: You're walking back and forth repetitively this number of times Ess used: How many of those funny circle-rocks you're gonna need Hints: If everything goes right, some hints will be here. "Accidents" do happen, though... The rest of this section is basically number crunching, but it could potentially save you time. Some instructions will be shown under the hints section. Don't stop reading, though, there's still some junk at the end that you might want to read. Breaks to mine essence will be displayed as so: <<<------------Go Mine some ess, fool!------------>>> You only wear a tiara when runecrafting. You can run longer with less equipment. Members can wear boots of lightness for added comfort. Levels: 1-11 Runes you're crafting: Airs Trips you're making: 10 Ess used: 278 Hints: Ok, so this is your first run. You get 5 experience per air rune crafted, thus a full inventory will get you 140 xp. But your first run isn't a full inventory. You've gotta bring along your talisman and tiara. The altar is located south of Falador, north of Rimmington, east of the Makeover Mage and west of the path that runs by the quaint little farm. Enter the altar with your talisman, and then use it to make your tiara. Never take this off, unless you're switching tiaras or taking a break, of course. Doesn't it make you feel pretty? So anyway, craft your runes, then go through the conveniently placed glowing yellow circle. Congratulations, you've just become level 2 runecrafting! Follow the aforementioned path by the quaint little farm all the way up to Falador East bank. Bank your airs, and withdraw 28 ess. Go back to the altar, make your airs, then visit the bank again. You've just given level 3 a miss and gone straight on to level 4. Repeat this 8 more times to get to level 11 runecrafting. Now, if you try to go back, you'll get twice the amount of air runes! (same amount of xp, though) Levels: 11-22 Runes you're crafting: Earths or Fires Trips you're making: 22 Ess used: 614 Hints: In that last little morsel of information, you just gained the levels to craft 66% of all non-member runes. Gratz. You now can craft a bunch of other runes, but their altars are too far from a bank to be time-saving. What is suggested it to take a pick of either Fire runes (the altar is above the duel arena) or Earth runes (the altar is near the Wild Boar inn) for This next section. They're both relatively the same distance from the bank, so I'd suggest going with fire runes. Crafting these gives 196 XP per full load (earths are 182 XP), and making the fire tiara gives 35 XP(32.5 for earths). So that's 217 XP on your first load. That's about halfway between level 12 and level 13. Go back and forth between the altar, bringing 28 ess each time until you've reached level 22. Levels: 22-33 Runes you're crafting: Bodies Trips you're making: 60 Ess used: 1,680 Hints: You've probably begun to notice that you're not gaining a level every trip. You've probably also noticed you'll be able to craft body runes, the ultimatum of F2P rc-ing, with 210 XP per load. The tiara is 37.5 XP. So, in theory, making tiaras gives the most XP. However, you will be spending a lot more money and effort to get all of the talismans necissary to make those tiaras. The runes are definitely the best way to go. Anyway, grab your unenchanted tiara, talisman, and rune essence, and head a little west of barbarian village, and south of the monastary. When banking, you have two options: Edgeville or Falador. Pick one, and stick with it until level 33. You'll be surprised how much time you waste being fickle. I believe edgeville is slightly shorter, though. So anyway, continue for 60 (gasp!) trips, and in a while, you'll have 33 runecrafting. <<<-If you're a member, then go mine some ess (pure or not, depending on the following) fool!->>> Levels: 33-44 Runes you're crafting: Bodies or Cosmics Trips you're making: Minimum of 178 Ess used: Minimum of 4,984 Hints: Ok, so you're faced with another choice. Body runes or Cosmic runes. If you still have a few ess left over, I'd finish it up, then mine some pure ess. If you're an F2P, forget the rest of the guide, and just go with body runes until level 99. Keep in mind, that Cosmic runes have a longer journey to the altar from a bank, but are more profitable to sell. <<<------------(Members) Go mine some pure ess, fool! ------------->>> Levels: 44-99 Runes you're crafting: Natures Trips you're making: 57,684 Ess used: 1,442,100 Hints: The last new rune you'll be crafting, if you're going for speed. I'd suggest get about 10K pure ess (NOTED!!!) to start, and 40K. Take a ship from Ardongue to Brimhaven, and be prepared for monotony. Sell 25 NOTED!!! pure ess to the general store that's halfway between Tai Bwo Wannai and Brimhaven. (Hint: It's on the west side, past the "neck" of the island) Immeadiately buy back your ess to have 25 unnoted pure essence. Walk diagonally through Tai Bwo Wannai, (if you really look, you can see a path) past the mining area, and you'll wind up North-by-northeast of Shilo Village, precisely where the altar is. You can also use the Shilo Village bank if you've completed the quest. (I haven't...) If you want to go from level 44 to level 99 all in one go, you'll need 1,442,100 ess, 141,325,800 gp, and nerves of steel. (the bank can replace the money, so it would be wise to complete the Shilo Village quest) CONGRATULATIONS! YOU'VE EARNED 99 RUNECRAFTING!!!! Trips you've made: 57,954 Total ess used (pure and regular): 1,449,656 Extra Junk: The Abyss The abyss is a risky, yet worthwhile way to craft runes. After completing a short mini-quest (begin it in level 5 wilderness, just follow the river Lum upstream until you see a Zamorak monk), you can craft your ess much faster. However, unpon entering, you will be "skulled", and susceptible to being harmed by PKers. I don't use it, personally. However, you can get rune pouches from the abyss, which can hold a certain number of runes. You can only have pouch of each kind, so I'd suggest getting one of each. Small pouches (level 1 to have) hold 3 rune essence Medium pouches (level 25) hold 6 Large pouches (level 50) hold 9 Giant pouches (level 75) hold 12 Runners Runners are very important aspect of runecrafting which I forgot to mention. I wouldn't suggest getting them when you're first starting out becaus you're clearly not going to be able to make a profit off of them. I would suggest using runners when crafting cosmics, nats, laws, or deaths, since they are the runes whose altars are the furthest away from a bank, and you can make back the money you spend on runners easily. That's it for now. I know what you're thinking, "Man, that guy can ramble on about runecrafting!" My defense? It's a gift. If you plan on leaving a negative comment such as "bleah, I don't like it!", it would help me a lot if you told me what the problem with my guide was, since I would like to improve on it. You can use this guide (you as in anyone who wishes to use it on their individual sites, etc) so long as you (also meaning anyone who wishes to use it on their individual sites, etc) contact me first and give me credit.
  23. I added some either some birds or some flying "M's. Also a sandwich and a doughnut on the side, because I'm feeling hungry.
