Not only did you paraphrase, but you misinterpreted completely. What they mean is that finally, we have a person that represents the people of America; someone that struggled and grew up on welfare and understands people. Essentially, someone of the people, for the people, and by the people.

No, but a vast majority were already born privileged. I came from an average family...slightly higher than average actually (dad makes $80,000 atm but he's a Federal employee). I am working for it, but you have to remember that I was still given opportunities that the average American is not. The average household in America makes $45,000 a year, and I'd say it's a lot lower than that simply because of the richest 5% owning more than HALF of the wealth, and 20% own over 80% of the wealth. So really, just because Bill Gates walks into a bar, not everyone is a millionaire simply because he makes billions to average everyone else out. I hope you understand what I meant by that. However, I was privileged. I didn't have to drop out of high school, and get a job, just to help my parents pay the bills. I didn't get a teenage woman pregnant, while not having received proper sexual education to know about the consequences. I didn't grow up in poverty. I didn't go to a [cabbage]ty high school. I was given many opportunities that I didn't work for, that many others are not given. And even I am struggling. Obama wants to raise the tax rates to LESS than that of Clinton. How is that out of hand? We had a surplus during the Clinton years, and there was a less wage gap. America currently has wage gaps worse than countries like Kenya, according to the United Nations (at least that's what we're approaching). Don't you see a problem here? The thing is, as hard as some people might work and try, it doesn't guarantee prosperity. That is the lie that is the American Dream: few live it.

I'm sick and tired about hearing that "I worked hard for what I have, why can't those other people?" Let's take an example. Joe the plumber: he's a criminal, he's a fraud, he's ignorant, and he's a liar. He owes the IRS taxes, he owes the DMV $700 in tickets and has his driving license suspended because of it, he's not a licensed plumber and if he did plumbing work for money in Ohio he is a criminal (not allowed to do plumbing in Ohio without a license), and he lied about buying a business that his supposed boss isn't even selling. Now what? He could possibly have a country record deal, he was the talk of the media since the 3rd debate, he has a publicist, he'll probably write a book, etc. Now, did he work for ANY of those things? He's not a struggling musician looking for a break. He's not an amazing author that has been looking for recognition his whole life, and he certainly doesn't need a publicist. The answer is, he didn't do jack [cabbage] for any of these things that could possibly happen. He was in the right place, at the right time, and got attention by slandering Obama. That makes him worthy of wealth? He worked for that wealth?
-
He's not even spreading the wealth around! He is giving tax breaks to people that make under a certain margin, instead of George Bush's way of giving those tax breaks to rich people. Obama--> Economic growth from the ground up with small businesses McCain--> Economic growth from the top down (trickling down) with large corporations.

I hope so. Gay marriage was banned in Florida and Arizona last night, though. California is still undecided...but it's not looking good.

Ignorance. People in America are just ignorant. They think that they live in the greatest nation on Earth, chant USA, and then leave it at that. If people would just take a look around them, they'd realize that our country isn't even on the center, but that we are center-right (now anyway, we were far right with Bush). People all around me are threatening to leave now that Obama has won, and I just ask, "Where are you going?" They don't realize that Obama is rather conservative compared to foreign politicians. Harper, a conservative in Canada, is about as liberal as Obama, perhaps even more liberal. After all, he'd never seek to get rid of the national health care there, and he'd lose if he proposed to.

Saying I'm happy, is an understatement. I just got back from the bar, and I am ecstatic. Short, sweet, to the point. Oh, my feet have blisters on blisters; I walked today for 10-12 hours knocking on doors getting people to vote. If anyone wanted McCain to win, you should have been out there. It wasn't George Bush that won us this election, it was the community organizers. Remember, we beat Hillary Clinton.

No way. I'm expecting like 55-60%. I'm currently on a break from canvassing, but here's some [cabbage] from the local area that I'm at: http://blogs.tnr.com/tnr/blogs/the_plan ... ealth.aspx So, before I saw this, I went to do a small door knocking section in the dorms. I knocked on 8 doors, and then the Hall Director (Head Hancho of the hall) comes up and tells me that without an escort, I can't be there. I said alright, hid behind the steps, and then continued to knock. 3 doors later, he tells me the same thing, but this time escorts me out. He's like "I could write you up for this, but this is your last warning." Kinda funny, it's no wonder this country has such low voter turn out.

She's more qualified than Obama is. Bwhahahahaha. http://andrewsullivan.theatlantic.com/t ... e-war.html

Scared of losing Indiana and Georgia, GOP? First, voter suppression in Indiana: Opening voting centers doesn't risk voter fraud, and they know it. And here's a beauty of a quote from Georgian Senator, Saxby Chambliss:

Lol, whatever. You said he almost tore the country apart, and now you're agreeing that he saved it. Which one is it? So who was your favorite President of all time and for what reasons? Calvin Coolidge?

Sarah Palin prank phone called: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CcEiR01QK7o You know, you'd think she'd be a little bit tipped off that it was a prank phone call when they mentioned "Nailin' Paylin", but she still believed it to be Sarkozy. She's so clueless...
-
Well, she fires people for personal reasons, and hires her best friends...I'd call that corruption.

I blame these men/the men that created these films: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loose_Change_(film) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alex_Jones_(radio) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zeitgeist,_the_Movie It's nothing more than an internet phenomenon, Trapical. These are your Ron Paul libertarian worshipers, that have basically taken over the internet and youtube. They do monitor phone calls made out of the country, though.

I want you...to die for America and the GOP. I love Halloween :)

I've had [cabbage]ty phones my entire life, handmedowns from my mom. My last phone was like 6 years old lol. I upgraded just a month ago to this: [hide=][/hide] Mine is black. It's the newest LG Shine with a analog stick instead of arrows. I like it a lot.

Are you freaking kidding me? "Almost lost half of the US"? Dude, he SAVED the US. He is revered by most historians as the GREATEST President of all because of his ability to keep the US together, and you're telling me he's awful because he suspended Habeus Corpus? In case you didn't know, the US was at war with itself  "It's not their country". This election affects every country around the world. Ugh, I can't stand your mentality.

They won't die, they're going to split into other factions with party in-fighting. Sarah Palin is preparing for her election run in 2012. She's going off of John McCain's message, and talking about the prospects of '12. There's people inside the campaign (Giuliani and and Romney's people) that are dissing her left and right. The neo-cons want to go one way, the social conservatives/evangelical fundies want to go another way, and the Paleo's/fiscals want to go yet another way. George Bush destroyed the party's chances in Congress, AND for the Presidency for a good while. They either need to re-tool, or re-faction. I can see them re-factioning because of all the directions the party wants to go. I love how Republicans are making excuses: it's for the best to let things cool down guys, it's ok. This is going to be some FDR/LBJ style governing, and I cannot wait.
-
Although I respect the republican history, I can not agree more here: what the republicans stand for and stood for the last decades is sometimes no less than disgusting. It seems they have brought this very much upon themselves and I would be thrilled to see them losing their choking grip, finally, on the USA. Let's hope it can last for more than a couple of years and that they return to what they used to stand for. If they were still the party of Lincoln and Roosevelt as they so like to claim on their stumps, I would vote for them. Teddy R. is one of the best presidents of all time, and he could possibly be my favorite one. If this were 1904, I'd have some serious contemplating to do to make a choice between Teddy R. and Eugene Debs.

Obama might start moving into Arizona, because he's within stealing distance there. It certainly would be embarrassing for John to lose his home state that he was leading in by 12-15 points at one point. Obama is within like 4 points, and now McCain has to send ads there to defend it on a limited budget. Obama winning, Ted Stevens is a felon, the Democrats might get a 61-39 majority, Sarah Palin thinks she's going to be the 2012 nominee, and the Republican Party is dismantling and imploding. This is the greatest election ever.
-
"spreading the wealth" would be more along the lines of 'from each according to his ability, to each according to his need'. And I'd be willing to bet that Obama would be perfectly happy to go along with Maxine Waters when she said "this liberal wants to socialize oil companies" If any industry should be nationalized, it should be the Energy Industry, which includes the oil companies. At least, that's what I would like to see happen, lol. Health care as well, but that's just common sense

http://www.colbertnation.com/the-colber ... rian-moore Socialist Candidate clears up the differences between socialism, and Obama...or at least he tries to. Socialism is a system in which the people democratically control the means of production for the good of the whole society....rather than a few corporate heads. It by no means implies, "Spreading the wealth".

Voting doesn't start for another week -.-. Unless it was a mock election. What are you talking about? Early voting started weeks ago.
