Heh, sounds a little like me. Except I couldn't continue with Chemistry because they only had the Higher Course. Thankfully, my college course is Digital and Multimedia studies, or something close, I forgot the name. The annoying thing is, I need to pass Int 2 English for the Conditional offer for the higher leveled course, I went for the lower one and got the full offer. Though honestly, I hope to hell I can get in with Higher Maths and French, those I can study for and do. English, well it can completely blindside you and have the quetions so you really have to twist your knowledge. Geography wasn't included, even if it was, I wouldn't have revised, and had I [bleep]ed up and failed somehow, both Prelims got me A's, and I've passed all NABs with A's, so I'd have no trouble appealing. English, well I couldn't appeal, infact, I'm probably just in, the required Prelim percentage was 40%, I got 39%. Same goes for Maths really, but that can be studied.

Yeah okay, our teachers' can teach us what they think the questions will relate to (I've got Valentine, Dulce Et Decorum Est, Wind, Cal and A View from the Bridge) but seriously... WHAT [bleep]ING USE IS IT? When are quotes from these ever going to be useful? I've grasped a better understanding of the English language from the time I've spent online. I wish they had a way of testing your grasp of the English language that isn't handicapped by how slow you write (honestly, I had 2 hours for a Geography prelim, missed 2 questions (about 5 or 6 parts), still got an A though ^^,). Seriously, I could learn the quotes, but my problem is my writing speed, I kind of feel cheated how I can fail because I write too slowly, and seriously, I will be pissed if my French teacher is right and they do judge based on how long it looks. Yeah, I fit about 17-20 words per line, so I'll be looking at less than someone who manages 10. Guess whos will be looking longer, and guess who may infact have the longer one. Seriously, I feel that the whole system needs to be adjusted so we can actually learn more about basics of the English language. Hell, theres probably some other country who teaches it better, and its not their primary language. Hell, its not the first time a foreigner will have a better grasp on the techniques of the English language than a local.

Sucks. To be honest, I'd go over every single part of the agreement to make sure it is stated. Then double check, just to take my mind off it. Good luck with your final, sucks to have this to worry about the night before. Plus the stress of it won't be helping. I've got my Int 2 English exam tomorrow, and I am dreading it. Well, if its explictly said in the contract that it is a 9 month lease, and you have a signed copy, which is dated, then you should have your way out. EDIT: Oh, and they are likely to have the original contract anyway.

So wait... The agreement was that you paid monthly, and that you were only to be staying for 9 months? If thats in writing, theres your way out. If not, then unfortunately, you sound buggered.

do you know that that is usually included in the lease agreement? OT: i found a line on the lease that states that a month-to-month tenant must give knotice written knotice 60 days ahead of time would that get me off the hook? Did you give written notice 60 days (roughly 2 months) ahead of time that you wanted to move out? Honestly, if you can afford to, just stay the extra month. Its a lot less of a hassle.
