  1. Don't worry, you now have the attention of just about every teenaged male TIFer there is.

We have a winner! I hope you did not play and beat it :? That was a baaaaaaaaaaaaaad game. In your opinion...
  3. Ah, I see what you mean about the job now. Still, I agree with you about the perfect world thing, but I could imagine getting bored if I got everything I wanted without earning it. Though I can imagine your older siblings no longer require your parents support. Still makes no sense as to why he should get more. But hell, you're more prepared for the future than he is. Who do you think has the better parents?
  4. Well, theres a Foo Fighters poster aswell, I can easily recognise that.
  5. Ouch, sucks. Yeah, I suppose I should ask, my mate also can pretty much get like £10 off his Dad when he asks. If I lacked the money, then hell, I doubt my parents would give me it. What cheeses my off more, is that he works, and frankly, he's broke more often than I am. Okay sure, I'm going to look for a job soon, once my French exam is over (I've got no worries about Geography), but [cabbage], its not like I need the money. Fine, most of my money now goes towards CDs and games, but the thing is, I have it. I've had it for awhile, and my sister gets pretty much the same as me, well, slightly more. She works, I don't. Oh, and I'm probably not getting the EMA now since I'm on Study Leave, but damn, I've still got more money than her, infact I've lent her money once. I mean, kay, fair enough, she works for her money (about £100 per month), so she can spend it as she wants, and she'll pay back if she borrows it. She spends it to go out with mates, saves some, and generally ends up buying some clothes. Nothing wrong with that. Admittedly, I do probably overspend a little (20 CDs currently), most of that probably came from the EMA, and money I get from my parents, but the fact is, I rarely do spend. Sure, whenever I go up town, I'll be likely to buy 2 CDs at least, I don't know why, its more of a habit than anything. But that happens rarely, I don't specifically go up for CDs, its normally something else. Sucks that you have to get rid of your car, though I am wondering why you didn't have a job, could be the job market as it is currently, I'm not going to judge. To be honest, I find it funny that you have a friend like I do, who seems to be getting more, despite earning less. The system is [bleeped] up how it works, and yeah, your friend should be paying more for himself. I've never borrowed money off my parents, and I do own a PS3, granted that was from interest from some money that was put away for my future, and also granted, that money (about £2k) is still there, but I can't use that, I'm fine with that. I'm going to be paying for my own driving lessons, and hell, when my Dad hires a car to take me out for a small lesson, I pay for that myself. Though out of curiosity, is your friend an only child, and do you have siblings?
  6. If someone was earning that sort of money, then I'm sure they can dig into their savings and tighten the belt a little. If they HAVEN'T got savings then they're complete idiots. Both my parents have been on and off Jobseekers Allowance, we've had all sorts of other benefits. But there's ONE benefit I WILL rant about. EMA. Educational Maintenance Allowance. People going to 6th Form/College who's parents earn under £30,000 a year can get up to £30 a week for... educational expenses. But NO, I'll tell you what they do, they go to college JUST to get EMA, soon enough they've got hundreds stacking up in the bank. Not one [bleep] penny goes on 'educational expenses'. They all spend it on going out and getting [bleep] drunk at the weekend. What pisses me off even more is that my parents JUST earn over £30,000 which means I don't get it. EMA is given out because the government assumes that the parents of the other children would give their kids up to £30 a week. Let me tell you how much I get £5... from my grandparents. If I'm lucky I'll get a tenner or so at the start of the week, my mum said she'll give me £2 a day for dinners and such, but most of the time it comes out of my own pocket and just gets added up to my mum and dad's debt to me (Like £70 now)... meanwhile one of my friends gets EMA, buys £100 trainers, has an Xbox 360, Wii AND PS3... He asks me how much is in my bank I'll say like... £6... he'll say like £240... It's a load of UNFAIR [bleep] [cabbage]. If they're going to give out EMA, raise the band a bit higher or give it to EVERYONE. :x :x :x :x I'm [bleep] getting it next year... I swear  Well, the way the EMA is, its pretty [bleep]ed up. My mate, well he got about £30 per month, know what [bleep]ing annoyed me? The fact his Dad could afford him the stuff he wanted as long as he paid back. Meanwhile, I get £20 from the EMA, and guess what? I lend them money from time to time. Hell, I don't mind, I get paid back, so I pretty much would lend it to anyone in my family. I've got about £300 because, well my parents can afford can to give me money monthly, well, weekly but I tell my mum to put it in my account monthly anyway. Now, what pisses me off, is if I want something, I have to save for it if I want it. Which has actually put my into a somewhat good habit of watching my money, so I don't go under a certain amount (Maybe about £150-£200? I've never reached those lately). But yeah, judging on how much your parents earn isn't a good system, it says nothing about their financial status.
  7. Badly. Its a snipe-fest in the later ranks. Otherwise its either Assault Rifle, or Shotgun.

But he made fashion into something that is badass instead of something pansy-like. Just look at those glasses. Look at the shoes! He can wear those and still look hard as nails. That is badass my friend.

Actually, I'd say your parents were the more normal ones, from what Rach has said, hers seems to overreact a little. Okay sure, from how you say it, maybe they are a little too positive, but hell, if you aren't doing anything worth being punished for, then why shouldn't they? I understand what you mean about jobs though, even if you dislike it. Hell, I've got into college, so I've no worries, but I still need a job for the money really, and to get out a little. For one, I would have never dreamt of working in retail, but hell, now I've matured, and considering the job market today, any job you can get is a friggin' miracle. Breaking the habit of not caring is a little tricky. I think at one point (when my parents pretty much wouldn't shut up until I did get my hair cut) I used to avoid going for baths and showers all the time. Now, at most I'll go three days without one, normally its once every two days, 3 days when I had school and went for a shower on Sunday evening/Monday morning because it fits better for school. Honestly, its just the thought of my hair being greasy that makes me shower. Since I am growing my hair, and as I've said, I'm almost constantly adjusting it, it feels horrible if its greasy and I have to move it out my eyes, plus it looks crap when it is greasy, and considering theres a mirror in my room, when I walk past it, I kind of notice it. (Its in there because I need to tidy my hair up in the mornings (or afternoon, whenever the hell I get up), it only takes a few minutes, but its better than using the bathroom.)

Good luck with the job hunt. I'm going to use some time on Study Leave to do so myself. I'll agree with you on parties with under 18s, but hell, the way I've seen people act about it, most parties now involve getting hammered, so to quote a friend "For a party now, you need booze or weed". Then again, getting hammered isn't my sort of thing, well, booze in general anyway, and [cabbage], my parents would trust me enough for me to not drinking probably, or even not drink at all (they'd allow me to, I just choose not to, hate the stuff). Might give my mate a call and see if he's busy Monday, if I remember correctly, the schools are off then. Rach, it doesn't matter, [cabbage], I'm extremely [bleep]ing lazy, I'll stay up til 2am, 1am on school nights, or for now, when I have exams, or later, and I'll wake up anywhere from 1pm to 3pm, yet, I still make the effort to shower. Little advice though, try showering in the morning after you have woken up, it feels better than during the middle of the day/at night. Good hygiene helps with good health. [cabbage], I'd feel the same that it isn't really worth getting clean, but I hate the feeling. After two days, or even at times, one day, my hair gets extremely greasy, and I hate the feel (since I'm just about constantly moving it out of my eyes, or flattening it at the sides (I don't mean to, I just do)). Damn, I don't know how you can stand living there, haven't you got anybody you can move in with? Grandparents or such? And hell, you don't need the motivation, just do it. I'm probably not the best guy to say that though, I only really go see films with one guy, and thats rarely because he's either broke or doesn't want to go. The other guys I know, well, they're about 14 (I'm 17, but I've known them awhile, and they're good guys, usually) so they can't get into 15s. Sure, I'd risk it by trying to buy them their tickets, but its just too complicated, plus if they get caught when trying to enter, I'm [bleeped]. EDIT: I suppose there is someone else I could ask, but it'd be kind of hard. She has a boyfriend, and well, she could take it in the wrong context, so I honestly don't know. I suppose theres a third aswell, another female, but I dunno, she used to fancy me, and judging by some of the things she asks, going by her actions in the past to get my reaction, she may still have feelings for me, or maybe not, I suck at reading signs.

How can your hygiene be horrible? Make the damn effort. Sucks about your brother though. I still stand by the "beating some respect into him" idea though. Fear is as good as any form of respect.
  12. Probably Atheism. Just to give every religous nut the finger. Then again, the one the Vikings followed might be cool, but only if I get into Valhalla.
  13. Haha, well theres no signs on texting. If you do not get a reply in 10 minutes, then do not send more until she sends, or it has been 24 hours, probably the only sign that isn't obvious (the obvious one being "Night" or some variation on that). And basically it means that you should let her talk more than you do.
  14. Signs such as her eyes no longer being focused on you, rather on the surroundings, she's looking for an excuse to leave. EDIT: Oh and remember, you have two ears and one mouth. You should listen more than you speak.

Meh, well its hard to get people to say the truth, so I don't know much about methods. As its been said, torture is a way to get people to confess, not to tell the truth.
  16. Kiriyama replied to Robert_de_Sable's topic in Off-Topic
To be honest, I have little ideas. Though wouldn't a lie detector work? Plus people inadvertedly show small signs when they lie anyway. Failing that, I'd give them the bare minimum to keep them living, reducing it slightly the longer they are held.
  17. Kiriyama replied to Robert_de_Sable's topic in Off-Topic
The point is, its just not dirty water that can cause those. Clean water can, dirty water just has the higher risk. There is no justification for torture. We are not animals.

  19. "Good" Ending of Fallout 3. Macalania Springs in FFX, The Home scene just before the Airship too. [yt]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M5mxnnLJjIo&feature=related[/yt] [yt]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QCqnjoZZP_A[/yt] Yeah, if someone wants to fix those, then go ahead.

A 9 year old can beat you up? May I just add that my services are for hire. Armed or unarmed you choose. I can guarentee that 99% of the time, it can't be traced back to you.
  22. Kiriyama replied to Leoo's topic in Off-Topic
Your brother needs some respect beaten into him. Or just beaten for listening to Hannah Montana. Either one is good.
  23. And yet you still decided to say it has far superior online, and better exclusives. How can you make that assumption without playing both? I just don't want any fanboy stuff in here, and that is what you were doing. Because it does have superior online because of Halo. And stop saying I'm a 360 fanboy, if anything I'm a PC fanboy. GTFO Halo Fanboy. Seriously, what is so great about Halo? It came in at the right time for the market, thats all. If anything, its just another average shooter that didn't add in any new innovations. EDIT: Oh and yeah, I played the original. Mostly played the trial at school in the mornings until it got banned. But hell, we couldn't do anything else really, now could we?
  24. I cannot help much on backwards compatability. Since I own a 40GB model that I put a 320GB harddrive in. Silver X-Box live memberships allow you to do basic things, and its free. However, you CAN NOT play online with Silver. Gold, you can play online, but you have to pay. I'm going to say avoid buying used consoles, just because you do not know what problems you will encounter. I'd say get the cheapest model you can. I was told thhat you can turn the PS3 into a media centre, so the bigger the harddrive, the better. From a biased viewpoint, I'd say PS3, because thats my preference. However, if you want something that you can use as a media centre, then its the PS3 too, and if I remember correctly, you're supposed to be able to put Linux on it, or something. Regarding backwards compatability though. The 80GB model could play either PS1 or PS2 games, maybe both, I don't know. Its on the box. 60GB Models can play both. 40GB models can play MOST PS1 games, and are unable to play PS2 games. Price drops, well we can never be sure when they are going to happen. If you want to risk buying a used PS3, invest in a fan, and get either the 60GB model if you must have backwards compatability, or the 40GB model, and replace the harddrive with a larger one (I went for a 320GB at £55, so in total, my console has cost me £300 for the system, and £55 for the harddrive, this was a new console). What I must warn you, is there is the chance of failure/overheating. My first PS3 lasted a total of 7 weeks. However, my current one has been through all-nighters, has been on for 12 hours a few times, 7+ hours regularly, and its still running fine. Sure, I get some issues with the games freezing, but thats only been FO3, Oblivion and X-Men Origins: Wolverine. The main factor for me was both the games (I prefer the Playstation games tbh), the capabilities of the machine (PS3 is more of a beast than 360), the fact its a Blu-Ray player (how many HD-DvDs do you see? Honestly?) and finally, storage space. I can get a bigger harddrive for the PS3 at less of a cost than I can for the 360. An added bonus is the built in wireless. The 360 lacks this, and you either have to have cables running about (an annoyance for me since I have taken my PS3 places and would need to reconnect it every time, plus it would take some effort to have the cables running to the modem (its downstairs, the PS3 is usually upstairs in my room) or you have to buy a wireless adapter.
