  1. The thing is China are doing our donkey work now, but when the next generation of kids that are taught well due to the money from this donkey work, America and Great Britain will be stuffed, because those kids are gonna take our jobs. I beleive America will want to go to war over this, and Tony Blair will probably stick up for him (stupid mug) and it could result in war haveing a lmae public excuse like liberation, but only really about the power. 8)

Actually, the education over there isn't too great even compared to ours lol. You have to understand that as their "level" of jobs rises, so does ours.

  2.

Iam sick of seeing all the American Jobs move to china, it is gunna weaken our economy only strengthen theres which will not have good results.

We need to force the big corporations to stop doing this because it is betrayl to the people of our country!

Hey hey hey...watch your tounge. To any businessman, cheaper price for the same quality or better is usually what most of them choose. That is the primary reason why jobs are shipped overseas ----> Americans today do mediocre jobs compared to the past and the quality has deteriorated + prices are rising.

Ask any businessman or woman, why pay higher price for something you can get it done cheaper and maybe better?

Acautlly, the quality of labor isn't doing too good in America, but it's AWFUL in China. One of the major problems of all communist countries is the productivity of labor and the quality of it's products. If you got paid the same no matter how hard you worked, would you try at all? That's the problem.

  3. The unemployment rate is about 5.5% which is only .5% higer than the natural rate of unemployment which is generally estimated at 5%. There isn't much of a problem there. As far as outsourcing in general, it isn't something that can or will be stopped. Companies only have 1 goal: to maximize profit. To fulfil this goal they must cut costs as much as possible. If American companies don't do this, we fall behind. If we try to keep lower-level jobs in America, we will just hurt American companies which will kill the economy.

Structural unemployment will always be present and the fact that it5's rising isn't such a bad thing. The real scare is that it's moving to slightly higher-level jobs these days.

Although it doesn't appear to be correct, a weaker dollar is actually a very good thing. At the moment, the Chinese tie their currency to ours, which is harming them more than us. (This is partly due to the fact that we have more foreign customers.)

Again, the problem is not as bad as it would appear granted it's still bad. Right now the Chinese economy has about an 8% growth rate, which is amazing. If this goes on for a while, China will be very strong very soon. The problem with this is that they're causing economic problems by manipuilating the value of their currency so much. This can't go on forever, and, when it stops, the results will be very interesting. I think that this will be the deciding moment of the current US-China economic situation.

Of course, there's also the element of communism. It's never been very politically stale, and China is no exception. The government isn't very friendly over there, which would cause problems in the future.

So in conclusion sort of, the problem isn't as bad as it seems, it can't be stopped, it's a natural part of free market economies, and the current situation will be changing on it's own shortly.

  4. The other reason why gaim is amazing. The IRC client is great (not quite mIRC though). There's something about talking on IRC in an AIM-style IM window....

  5.

If you're getting erorrs in dev, it's your fault. Chances are you aren't up to date on the newest standards.

im jsut enquiring about compilers, not coding advice. the reasonn i got a particular error was because of dev, not me (reasons im not willing to go into).

battletrax although i appreciate ur advice reguarding gcc, can u aviod posting about code (i spose i wasnt originally clear about it, but i am doing so now).

Actually I thought it was quite informative to let you know that gcc won't work for you either.

  6. Dev uses mingw which is just a windows port of gcc. If you're getting erorrs in dev, it's your fault. Chances are you aren't up to date on the newest standards. Post some code you can't fix and we can look at it.

  7. Maybe you got some spyware from your autotyper. Generally one doesn't want to post evidence that they cheat on tipit...

On a side note, you should probably upgrade to sp2.

  8. Well...you could do it with pretty much any language, but I am quite sure that you yourself see that it would be much easier to do it in VB. You could do it in Perl, C, C++...hell, even Java itself. However, to do it in any of these languages one would actually have to code an API that would integrate with the JVM client. That means that Perl is automatically disqualified (eh...who the writes APIs in Perl?). It would be much easier to do it in C, but even easier to do it in VB, since there are already a load of hooks available for MS JVM client.

Thecreature, quite frankly, I think that you don't know what you are talking about. I mean, *? Recognizing colors? Do you realize that it would be very inprobable to implement?

Yea. Vb would be much easier, but efficiency>ease of coding lol

And you keep saying how improbable this is, but it's all been done long ago. Old-school autominers to work by recognizing colors. It's a java game, the colors are all fairly basic and easy to detect.

Again, this stuff is old news...

  9. I'll be very frank...The only way that I see it to be plausible to actually create a bot/auto script for RS is to basically record your moust clicks and then send them to the appropriate window. This can rather easily be done with Visual Basic.

This type of a script is rather unreliable and does NOT protect you from random events. Random events are just that...random. I am rather certain that they are generated through something like, Math.random(); function generated by a server and interpreted by the client There is very little possibility of detecting them. That's just the problem with RS2. Almost everything is done through the server. There are definitely a load of code that gets uploaded and loaded from the user's computer (check your Java cache and open all the .gtz (I believe) files you find with WinRAR). Most of these things simply include the large majority of the login script and some random things such as the timeout script (which I believe still gets checked by the server) and all sounds files.

The only plausible method seems to be to actually get the file containing the information you wish to audit, audit it on your home computer, run it from your home computer, and run something like Proxomitron to filter/edit all the headers from packets that specify your REMOTE_ADDR and change it to that of the given server. This might trick the login server into believing that the file is really residing on it, and not on your home computer... Alternatively, one can try to actually filter the packets (doubt its possibility, since RS uses TCP and not UDP, meaning more authentication gets done) with some other utilities (which I won't name for obvious reasons), but I doubt that this would work, although theoretically it should allow you to do some thing like change the amount of money at the trade screen.

Anyway, to implement something of the above nature into making an auto-miner script is rather improbable, imo.

Yea... They did that years ago in stronger languages than VB...

  10. I thought it was good. It was funny on it's own and it had moments that were made for ppl who read the books. I was also kind of dissapointed that they left out so many funny parts and they had to thrown in a stupid romance that added nothing to the movie. I also didn't liek the guy who played zaphod and the heads not being side-by-side ruined a few jokes...

I guess I have mixed feelings. I think I'm going to read the book series again (gotta be the 4th time by now) and then decide how good the movie was. :)

  11. I've always used gaim. It has many of the features of trillian (many more if I'm not mistaken), and it also supports TONS of chat networks. It's free, open-source, beautiful, and powerful. I suggest you check it out. It also has a great plug-in community.

    http://gaim.sf.net

  12. There are awful drivers of every age, but I think the older bad drivers are easier to detect. There are tons of bad yougn drivers who could easily pas a drivers test. Most bad young drivers just don't try to be good drivers. I know tons of guys who drive like madman but who could easily drive correctly if they needed to take another test. Bad old drivers would be easier to root out because most of them cannot physically drive well, so they can't just fake it for the test.

The costs involved in making everyone retake the test every 5 years would be huge (and the DOT would be even worse (imagine that)), but if we just phased it in for a more effective demographic first and then checked the statistics, it would go over better.

  13. well reset makes u lose all info correct? well until the date that u reset too.... unless you format the harddrive.... the guy could do that.... not reckamended but your moms account wouldnt affect u anymore... :P

Actually you'd lose anything encrypted with xp encryption, which I doubt many people use.

And Merc, you're really not in a position to call people trolls.

  14. I'm not sure exactly what's wrong but I find it very hard to believe that underpowering your speakers can damage them or the soundcard. I'm pretty sure the guy was wrong, but I could be wrong. Since the set that doesn't work is amped this shouldn't be a problem anyway.

Have you tried just plugging in the speakers that don't work correctly?

Also, have you tried them with another computer or a cd player or something?

  15. But Runescape doesn't have much of an inflation problem. The shops still all buy things for the same price that they have been since the game came out. People are not making more money, the money is simply worth less. Many people make their money buy making things and selling them to the shops or high alching them, its always been the same price. A rune pick, is still, 32k, from the store. This is like where everything has a price control, as well as limits, and the trading, is simply the black market.

    That's called inflation....

  16. I think the best solution to the problem (in America at least) would be to have everyone retake their test every 5 years starting at age 60 (or something to that effect). The problem with this is that AARP would throw all of their power and money behind stopping it, so it's political suicide. Unless both parties come together and jointly propose federal legislation (and a bit of propaganda to combat AARP), there's no way to do this. As long as interest groups continue to control the government, crucial legislation like this will never become law. But I digress...

  17. in the future if the party hats get like to 300mill

money will be worth more also

    ex.

your grand father bought a piece of gum for 5 cents

you buy your gum for 1 dollar

your grand father got paid 5 cents a hour

you get payed 5 dollars a hour

    do you see?

That's called inflation, and I think that it can only keep happening as fast as it's happening if runescape keeps growing quickly.

  18. On rs2? I highly doubt there are autoers. Their anti-random event scripts are mediocre at best, they'd just end up dying..

You obviously don't know much about the cheating community.

Yes the anti-random scripts are kind of crappy, but why even dodge random events. Autoers just powermine until they die, and then they autowalk back to the mine. I'm not sure how they handle random teleports, but I'd imagine if they take a tele spell or item with them, they can just use that and then have a set path from the destination to the mine.

It's still a big problem, although not quite like in rsc. Jagex seems content just trying to detect and ban them, but that doesn't stop anyone...

  19. the square dropped from 8 mil to 5.5 in like a month... I think people are hearing rumors of new armour (and recently a confirmation by jagex) and selling it off in case the new armour is better. If the new armour doesn't come, all of the people will want their drag stuff back.

Like I keep saying. The fixed supply and growing demand makes the prices fall, but on it's own it won't happen this fast...

  20. The prices appear to be rising so quickly because of insane amounts of merchanting. Looks sort of like a stock market bubble to me.

The limited supply isn't enough to raise prices that fast. Technically, the demand is the only thing that can raise the price, and it's mostly fueled by merchants. I'm just waiting to watch the bubble pop :)

  21. The only problems with smoking in America.

It's still allowed in public places.

The taxes need to be raised to help our deficit. (Why not tax the smokers. They're addicted enough to pay it :) )

Parents are allowed to smoke on their children.

On my drive to school every morning, I see parents driving their kids to school SMOKING with the windows closed. If it were up to me that would be a capitol offense. Talk about bad parenting.... Abortion isn't supposed to be legal after the birth.
