  1. Don't. You already missed the retaking of Echo Isles (or whatever that gnome place is called, if you're Alliance), and this Elemental Invasion stuff doesn't give anything decent except for a Feat of Strength and some 251 gear which will be outdated within a month. Honestly, its not too great either. So its pretty much a question of whether a Feat of Strength is worth 15 bucks.
  2. We're discussing Mages I assume. What specifically? Well just like overall damage, which spec is better for what For PvP its pretty much Frost or Fire, pre-patch there were some Arcane PvP specs (Combining Arcane Blast, PoM, and the Frost tree's Shatter talent). I'm Fire PvP myself, and its amazing. The talent to cast Scorch while moving gives you a clear advantage over anyone else, not to mention it costs no mana. /instant win Raid-wise in Patch 4.0 all 3 specs can be used as raid DPS, with Frost being the least acknowledged of the three. There are some Mages out there doing amazing Frost DPS, so I may make a spec and try it out. I think its based mainly on Deep Freeze along with Fingers of Frost procs. Pre-patch the top DPS was from Fire Mages, but Arcane has a few toys to play around with with the Spell Power from Mana Stones and their Mastery ability. They do the same base damage so its based on the player's skill, knowing the rotation, and how to react in different situations. Fire is significantly more dependent on gear rather than Arcane. In Fire one wrong gem or a few off stats will just kill you, so my advice to others has been to go Arcane in the lower gear levels then once you start acquiring better gear go Fire. The ideal gear level would be around item levels 264+, but at the very least be in full 251. A few pieces can be lower if they're stat friendly or good items, for example my Mage is around 6300 GearScore, and I still use the 245 Reign of the Dead (ToGC hates me). The Arcane rotation is also much more friendly. Try what you like though, and do whats best suited to your play style. Oh and for leveling, go Frost. Not even a question. Water Elemental at lvl 10 means everything will die a horrible, chilly death.

  4. [spoiler=Convo] Oh god I am so sorry. Had to make the decision between Master Flying for my Paladin or Artisan for my Druid. Went for Artisan on my Druid, because 280% herbing w/o having to dismount = glorious. I need 16 mounts for my Red Dragonhawk. [spoiler=Mount List]7x Argent Tourney mounts. 3x PvP Mounts Red Proto (Still have Share The Love, Zombiefest, Ruby Void to go >_<) 2x Halaa mounts (if I can find someone to killswap with) 2x AQ mounts Oc/Maly drake UP Proto Green Proto 2x ZG mounts Kara Horse 2x OS mounts Hallowe'en mount Turtle Anzu Violet Proto Hodir epic mammoth Uld HM Proto (unlikely) These are all the mounts I'm trying to get atm. ._< They seem to be the easiest ones on the list. It will take me 50 days to get all the Argent Tourney mounts, or 28 if I skip on the flying ones. I do around 20 dailies on 2 characters a day, which nets me approx. 520g. That's about 15 days for the Hodir mammoth, but it'd be cut down a lot with vendor trash/Heroic loot. 170 HKs in Halaa and 700 Crystal Powder will get me the 2 Talbuks. It seems unlikely that I will get this before Cata. Alas. ._. EDIT - No wait it's 350 Powder, apparently the cost was reduced. I could put up a list of mounts I had upon hitting 100, or mounts I didn't obtain to get it. If either would be beneficial to you let me know. Some of my guildies have found it useful so they can see what mounts they've missed, or may not necessarily need to obtain to get the Red D-Hawk. Oh and disregard my post about Hunters if anyone read it, Decebal clearly knows the class better than me.
  5. Hunters are great DPS, if played right. Ever since the new patch there's some debate over the best DPS spec, apparently Beast Mastery is the new "in" spec but I don't know much about Hunters so yeah. The only gear you'll have trouble obtaining is weapons, since the weapons most desirable to you are also desirable by many other classes, but you also have a very wide range of weapons you can roll on. The rest of the pieces won't be a problem, except for trinkets which are a pain for us all. And Mages are way fun.
  6. Mages do hit like trucks. Which is why I play one. :) Or played, rather. Actually its more like a freight train. I always preferred playing Arcane though, even though Frost is best for PvP. Arcane has ridiculous burst damage and when geared properly can nail 16k's with one move. I really should get back into this game. I heard they put the Cataclysm talents in, can anyone tell me if that's true? Arcane and Fire have been competitive DPS for a while for mages, Arcane does have a better burst but Fire makes up for it in sheer damage output (this is all pre-patch 4.0). Currently with the new talents, Fire looks ideal and I've switched to permanently Fire for 4.0 and Cataclysm. Arcane does have its perks, but sadly since the new talents you can't get Icy Veins with it anymore.

  8. Just follow the simple "if they want to tank let them tank" policy.
  9. [spoiler=Quote] Gotta love messing with PuGs haha. What mounts can you still get?
  10. By clicking that link you are going to a user-specific site. What this means is, when he signed up for this contest, he was given a link to provide to his friends. Every entree receives a different link. To be eligible for a major portion of this contest he has to get ten other people to sign up for it via his link. Once you've signed up via his link, you can't do it again meaning you won't be able to help your friends with theirs if they decide to enter. To sign up for the giveaway without being an unsuspecting toady visit Razer's website.
  11. [spoiler=Quote] It's fine, just make sure nobody snipes you. ;P Trading gold isn't recommended, though, since the neutral AH takes a pretty big cut for itself. Yeah I'd be doing it late at night though... its just that I'm 92/100 mounts for the Red Dragonhawk, and my choices are pretty slim now. I can still get 12 mounts from Argent Tournament but those dailies make me want to slit my throat ugh. Was looking to pay an Alliance guy to let me kill him in Halaa 170 times to get those two Dark Talbuks. I hate AH cuts:( Hehe, that's pretty awesome. I'm only 64/100. >_< Will be up to 70 in a couple of days when I hit Exalted with Netherwing, so yay. Goodluck with the mounts, though. I'd come kill you if I had a toon on your server. :3 I'm still sticking with the AT dailies, though I've quit the jousting ones because they are godawful. D: Still no Eye of Sulfuras. ;_; Got all the materials bar it, the Ingots and the Blood of the Mountain. I'm not going to bother buying the last two yet, since I'll probably get them all while I'm waiting for the blasted Eye to drop. I love Netherwing Drakes, I've ridden my Cobalt ever since I got it except when I pull out the Ulduar or ICC drake for e-peen status. Its still the only flying mount I regularly keep on my bars. Good luck finishing up the grind, try to farm as many eggs as you can it seriously helped me back then. All the AT dailies are just a pain, I've gotten pretty good at the jousting ones though. The money is nice however, and with the short list of mounts they're the easiest.

  13. Can anyone confirm whether or not its a violation of any Blizzard Rules/Terms/etc. to use the neutral AH to transfer items between Horde and Alliance characters?
  14. Yeah I was about ready to kill myself seeing all the escort quests I had to do, Blizzard should at least make the escorts move a little bit faster. Good thing about Tooga is that he follows you. Finished this Thursday morning, a day earlier than I'd expected to. Last quest was the end of the Black Morass chain inside Caverns of Time. Next goal is going to be to get the Red Dragonhawk Mount, and I'm already at 90/100 mounts for it. Then maybe finally finish up Salty and Guardian of Cenarius to round out my title count... [spoiler=Loremaster, title #23]
  15. Yeah he says a lot of funny little things, I tried to catch him saying them but good angles while moving is a pain. One of them this like "I always get sand between my toes" or something.
  16. Last time I was even inside a Battleground was a while back, before ICC even I think... from what I remember they're pretty beast though. Anyways, I officially found the best escort quest in all of WoW. Southwestern Tanaris, Tooga's Quest. Seriously. Try it. I tried to capture a screenshot but, its kind of tricky because you gotta keep moving but I caught a good one. My GM also decided he'd get drunk and break his vent headset last night, so we got to have the officer's meeting in chat today goody! -.- Kind of set me back, having to stop and type but I logged out at 669/685 easily putting it within my grasp. [spoiler=Tooga's Quest (Warning: Big screenshot)]
  17. Stayed up way too late, pissed off the girlfriend and finished off all the smokes but I got it.. and ahead of schedule! Hittin' the sack with about 80 quests left to Loremaster (shows 90 to go in the screenshot but I finished up some chains after this was taken). Its a shame as soon as I get Loremaster I'll probably never wear this again, gotta enjoy it while I can. [spoiler=Screenshot (its gonna be big)]Obvious info hidden for obvious reasons.
  18. Very nice. Do you know what's going to happen to that achievement when Catacysm hits? (I don't) AFAIK It's becomming a Feat of Strength and there will be a new loremaster achievement, it will work in the same way you get achievements for completing x amount of quests in Howling Fjord, Icecrown, etc, so you can see which zone you are missing completed quest. Did anyone see the Plants vs Zombies quest? <3: Yeah what Brad said is true. The current Loremaster and 3000 Quests Complete ("the Seeker" title) achievements will become Feats of Strength, for having obtained them during WotLK. New achievements will be released to update the number of quests required including the new zones. Without that completing 3000 Quests would become far too easy with the new zones available. I don't know if the titles will change or remain the same, personally I hope they change so the people with the Feat of Strength can retain the special feel. And yeah I did see that quest, I saw it on Totalhalibut's YouTube channel. LOOKS EPIC. 88 Quests to Seeker 178 Quests in Kalimdor to Loremaster Edit: I haven't looked it up yet, but does anyone know if the above concept is being applied to other achievements such as Ambassador, the Explorer, etc.? I also heard that "the Kingslayer" title will be removed (no-longer attainable) come Cataclysm, any confirms or denies?
  19. 221 quests to go in Kalimdor till Loremaster.
  20. http://www.wow-professions.com/wowguides/wow-engineering-guide.html I thought I'd share this link for those who don't know about it yet, its truly amazing. He has great guides out for so many things, but this is one I used the other day and just loved. I dropped my Tailoring to pick up Engineering because of its greater raid usefulness. The materials list looks intimidating but it really isn't, on my server I was able to get everything off the AH for about 3700g (this may vary depending on your server's economy) and a few items from my Guild Bank (they've been sitting there since I first joined and I'm an Officer now, there's my validation). I even had enough mats left over to put the Nitro Boosts, Hyperspeed Accelerators, Frag Belt and Parachute Cloak on my gear. I did have to drop another 2000g for the mats for MOLL-E, the Helicopters, and Jeeves though : / but seriously a great site and great guides for any professions you want to get up!
  21. wtb fan art that isn't arthas/lich king, illidan or sylvanas pst
  22. Pending updates at BlizzCon the midnight release date for Cataclysm will be November 2. Pre-ordering the collector's edition means you get to know:P
  23. Alright, lets see here. One, yes it is typical to not see your loot drop. Being a Hunter you use gear that is also in-demand by many other classes, so gearing will be a slightly painful process though. Stick with it though, repetition and dedication leads to rewards. Also your best bet is to find a good raiding guild, or a beginner raiding guild since you are new to raiding. A PuG run (formed in Trade Chat usually with random people) will rarely do as well as a guild, and stopping after Saurfang is pretty typical for one. The Paladin spell you encountered is called Divine Shield. It grants complete immunity to all effects, removes all debuffs, and can only be removed by a Priest's Mass Dispell or a Warrior's Shattering Throw. While they have it up they are immune to pretty much everything but only deal 50% damage for 12 seconds. This has a 5 minute cooldown on it. Paladin's also have the Hand of Protection spell. While the Divine Shield simply looks like a bubble, HoP can be identified by a giant crown that will appear over the Paladin. It lasts for 10 seconds and the Paladin can cast this spell on others. While under the effects of HoP, the Paladin or their target is immune to physical damage but cannot perform any physical action (they can still cast). Paladin's also have a third bubble spell called Divine Protection, which reduces their damage taken by 50% however they still deal maximum damage. To sum it up: Divine Shield: Total immunity, 50% reduced dealt damage, 12 seconds. Can only be cast on self. Hand of Protection: Total physical immunity, cannot perform physical actions, 10 seconds. Can be cast on allies. Divine Protection: 50% reduced damage taken, 12 seconds. Can only be cast on self. Each ability has a 5 minute cooldown, and using either one applies a 2 minute debuff on the Paladin called Forbearance, preventing them from casting any of the three spells for its duration. This prevents them from casting the three spells back to back. That all make sense? Wow I love to type ^
