  1. Just be aware that overload potions don't raise your magic level, only your magic damage, so you'll need restore pots to restore your magic level if you use brews. Of course if the monsters you're fighting don't use magic you're fine, but since almost every major boss fight has some form of magic in it they really aren't OP for boss fighting.

But you can still get them back up with super restores which you need anyway. The point is to be able to get your stats boosted without the brews negating that, so since you aren't boosting your magic lvl in the first place it doesn't matter all that much.

  2. I don't think a free lvl 99 skill will be a great reward. The estimated 20 million exp. are in combat, so it would probably be easier to get the scrolls then lets say 99 rc or slayer. A powerful item sounds more likely, but there's also a chance that they will classify it as an 'achievement' and give you a flashy cape or something else that's unique, but with limited usability.

EDIT: Forgot to say that i'm with you 100% about them needing to finish the rest of the minigame

  3. In the long run, higher lvl items such as godswords and gwd armour pieces usually go down. The cheapen rares such as santa's will most likely rise, but i think that your best bet would be some high-end raw materials, such as dragon bones. These items are bound to go up given enough time, which makes them great long-term investments.

  4. I just like to say that the whole reason the coinshare was in brackets as it swings both ways.

Take d pick for example; while it was rising coinshare was taking gp out of the game, but the moment it drops its adding gp into the game.

True, but when said item is rising, about 5% of the value is taken out of the game. When it is crashing and noone buys, the full minimum price at that moment is injected in the economy with the item getting stuck in the GE when the price drops.

  5. Is this even a question?

Use the best pickaxe you can. This is a must if you want to maximize your exp/hour or gp/hour.

You have not answered the question of "Is it worth the cash"

Also you are a Free to Play. I doubt you have been lent it to try it out.

Yes it is definately worth the cash. As Morionic has pointed out, you don't lose anything by using a liquid item like a pickaxe, so even if it is slightly faster then the rune pick it is worth getting if you are planning on training mining.

  6. Adding additional benefits to training a skill would only exacerbate the skill-buying "problem" as it were.

    This.

If more people are given a reason to train a skill like herblore or construction, the demand for raw materials go up, and so are the prices. This will result in higher costs, or "less profits" then before.

  7. i wouldn't blame Jagex for this. It's just the way the game developed over time when more and more people got higher levels. Even before the release of skillcapes people were already aiming for 99 goals, the capes were just a reaction to this and encouraged more people to get higher stats.

I agree that the game has become easier though, but the shift in focus isn't because of the game being easier per se, it started before a lot of these updates.

I do believe that Jagex is making the right move lately by implementing more high-level updates, but this will also lead to training of the skills, which will further shift the focus from money to XP.

  8. They're equate to the same thing. The high leveled are (usually) the wealthy. The wealthy train the skills, the wealthy reap the benefits.

Every skill can be 'bought' in some shape or form except for Slayer--which is why the Slayer Cape is still one of the most respected capes out there.

I wasn't aware agility was buyable.

It doesn't really matter if the skill is buyable or not, since it still takes time to get the money. Sure you can train construction very fast, but the amount of time spend on getting the money equals things out with skills like agility. Higher lvl's often pair with bigger wealth. So in the end, if they make high lvl untradable stuff or expensive stuff, it will always be the same people whining about how 'unfair' it is to them.

  9. the 3 items with the highest alching value will be shown, and the rest is organized according to the alching value as well, except if there are multiples of the same item in the pile, in which case the items will be placed beneath the top 3, so there's a bigger variety of items shown.

  11. i don't care that much for my ingame name tbh, so i'm not too excited by this update, but i guess a lot of people have been waiting for it for some time now, so good for them ::'

EDIT: i hear you omali, i'll probably try to get that number of my name too, but i won't change it so something completely different.

  12. You could always do Flax, that'll make you slow exp and semi-decent cash.

Otherwise, no idea for a good way of training without spending that much. :(

    he's looking for f2p methods.

In f2p, cowhides are the way to go for crafting, however you could always try to get the levels with soft clay, but it be slower.
