  1. [spoiler=hidden for length]

Adamant bolts are 350k to 560k XP an hour is you use mousekeys.

Only thing I can really help you with.

So it turns out like I was thinking of broad bolts rather than broad arrows, and so the question (albeit a different one) still stands. Anyone know?

there are two major methods to fletching broad bolts with mousekeys.

    1. the 456+ method

pressing these keys in sequence moves the mouse to the left, left-clicks, moves to the right, left clicks, and can then be repeated. this essentially uses the left pile on the right pile over and over again

    2. the 5+ method

pressing the 5 and + keys at the same time in your inventory results in a double click. you are responsible for moving the mouse between the two piles. this method is generally harder than the 456+ method, but most believe it to be faster. i'm not terribly good at it but after like an hour of trying it i was able to fletch as many bolts as i could with the 456+ method, indicating that i could probably go faster than the 456+ method using the 5+ method.

Sounds great, I think I will try it. Thanks :]

  2. Yeah, it would cut down on the cost somewhat, but it'd be pretty tedious gathering enough secondary ingredients for 40-50k potions. I recommend just working at it slowly. Just use your herbs from slayer, MTK, and farming, along with penguin exp and you'll get there.

Alternately, if jagex does another exp weekend, you could take advantage of that. That's how I got my herby high enough for extremes.

  3. Yes, if you want to use piety for slayer, the drops should cover it (make sure you're wearing pray-boosting gear, though!). Even if some tasks don't drop enough to break even [like hellhounds], you should easily make up for it on other high profit tasks, like dragons or warped torts.

(Although, personally, I don't use piety for slayer. But I'm not quite as worried about efficiency as a lot of people here.)

As for training herblore.. If you're making potions and buying all the supplies, you can generally assume it will cost you around 18-21 gp/exp. So, for you to get the approximately 6.3m exp needed for 92, it will cost somewhere around 114-132m. It's really, really expensive. You can save money by using all your exp lamps and penguin hunting exp on herblore, by growing your own herbs, getting herbs from MTK, or possibly training by cleaning herbs (this used to be profitable, but extremely slow exp. I don't know if it still is.)

  4. Assistclan is bigger than effigies cc. Effigies cc is less moderated and they allow payments/bribes, but assistclan is frequented by more people I find.

I think Effigies cc was one of the ones I tried, it wasn't very friendly and took hours for me to find someone. I'll try Assistclan instead. Thanks much!

  5. As always, I have a small list of questions I'd like some help with.

    1. I've heard of some extremely fast methods of fletching, something to do with bolts? What exactly is it, and does anyone have any approximate gp/exp ratios and exp rates?

    2. When solo dungeoneering, is it really worth it to do c6 meds? They seem to take a lot longer than c6 smalls, for such a minimal amount of extra exp. Also, what floor do the spiders that drop shadow silk hoods start appearing?

    3. About how many bones can be offered on a gilded altar per hour? Assuming I'm using my own house with house tabs, and a war tort.

    4. Where is the best place to find people to assist with effigies? I've tried going to daemonheim (forget what world) and everyone was rude and wouldn't help, and I got the same response in some of the CC's that I tried.

    5. Are chinchompas still the fastest way to train ranged? Alternately, is range slaying effective?

    Thanks in advance~

EDIT: Answered questions are crossed out

  6. Herblore: Gather your own herbs/seconds. It shouldn't take much to get 4 levels, kill abby spectres for a bit and you'll get it pretty easily. You'll profit since you don't have to pay for your own herbs.

Summon: There's no real cheap way to do this, so just kill some monsters for charms and fork over the cash. Still, its only 2 levels so it won't cost you much, especially if you profit from doing herblore.

  7. this is all for f2p

1.at what level do you efficiently mine coal

    2. what should i craft to level crafting (42 now)

3.at what range level can i range giants

4.and lastly what level do you efficiently wc yews

    1. Coal is never efficient, even for f2p. It's slow exp and slow money. Try iron instead, it'll be faster on both counts.

    2. Highest you can make with leather I believe

    3. Around 40-45

    4. Eh I guess about 80-85 but they'll always be slow

  8. I tried dungeoneering, I really did. I tried the technique, with rushing C1s and then doing C6's...

But there's just no place in that skill for solo players.

    One medium C6 dungeon:

A little over an hour and a half wasted

    2000 dungeoneering exp gained.

What a bloody waste of time.

I can get almost 20 times that exp rate in slayer, the SLOWEST of all skills. Now I realize that the exp from dungeons increases as you get to higher levels, but really, what kind of cost do you have to pay to get to that point?

Oh, wait, that's right. It can be fast. If you play in a team.

    [bleep] this.

  9. Thanks for all the responses, everyone.

I'm currently trying out both Z spear and whip+defender setups on iron drags (I do have extreme pots, by the way), and so far whip seems better. I also tried the same thing on black drags, and Z spear seemed a little better. So I guess I'll just use the spear for the higher level dragons.

I actually enjoy wyvern tasks so I'll probably continue to do them anyway, but hopefully I can afford to get soul split/turmoil soon.

    Thanks for the dungeoneering tips.

I really don't ever intend to team on it though. I understand I'm not going to get great exp rates but I just dislike teaming, and I'm not going to do it just for the sake of efficiency. I just plain don't like it, so I guess I'll suffer through soloing. I'm just wondering, though- are solo medium dungeons worth it? They seem to take forever, and I'm not sure if the small exp boost is really makes up for lost time.

  10. Hi guys, I've got a couple of quick questions for you.

    1. I just got my herby up enough to use super antifires, so what weapon should I be using on the various dragon tasks that I get? I do all my iron, steel, mithril, blue and black dragon tasks.

    2. Antifire potions don't work on wyverns, correct? So I still need to use a DFS/elemental shield there? (As a side note, what are your wyvern setups? I can usually only kill around 30 per trip, is that a good amount or should I be getting more?)

    3. I was considering getting my dungeoneering up to around 50-60 from my current level (30) to pick up a couple of the cheaper rewards. About how long would this take doing solo? I haven't really trained it except from ToG, but I've been hearing the best way is to rush the first floors on C1 and do the last ones C6. Is this correct, and if so, at what point should I switch to C6 floors?

    4. What item should I bind? And what should be my second bind at level 50? I've head about the shadow silk hoods, at what floor do those start to become available?

    Thanks in advance! :]

  11. Heh, it's kind of funny that I hadn't logged on since double exp weekend, which was like 2 months ago.

I ended up using my bonus exp to get me to (almost!) 85 herby, so I'm going to be loading up on super antifires and extreme pots as soon as I can be bothered to make some stew.

First priority at the moment is the halloween event, then I'm going to be starting on the herblore stuff. It looks like I was planning to do some dung before I left.. but suddenly, that sounds really unappealing. Haha. Perhaps I'll do that once I get my 95 defense and 95 strength. I'll probably need a good break once I get that far.

So, here I go again, relapsing into my runescape addiction for probably the hundreth time since I started this awful game 7 years ago XD

  12. i was wondering is mtk really that profitable that people do it so much?

Yes, every week I get about 2m profit for doing nothing.

Or around 500k profit plus a ton of free herblore/farming exp.

  13. Exchanging stuff only to get more money kinda goes against the point - what would you recommend to spend the money on?

True, however, exchanging something for a much better alternative is always a good idea. The fact that it's cheaper is just a bonus.

Barrows is really worth it, that's why so many people recommend it.

I personally suggest you spend the money on the following:

-Barrows armor (v skirt, torag/dharok top).

-Berserker ring if you don't have one- you didn't list it in your first post so I'll assume you don't.

    -68+ summoning.

-The rest you can either save for bandos/claws, or invest in herblore over bonus exp weekend. Herb prices are crashing again, you should be able to get a lot of exp with that much money.

  14. Taking some time off slayer for now to do some other skills.

I used up some dragon bones yesterday on my gilded altar, got a prayer level. It's kind of nice to get it for free like that, since all the bones were gathered myself through slayer.

I also got tired of seeing my woodcutting level sitting at 89 (which it's been for the past 2 or 3 years), so I'm chopping ivy at the moment to get it to 90. Round numbers are so much better looking. Only about 70k left now, so that'll be around an hour.

After I get that level I might actually try to do some more dungeoneering- who knows, maybe if I like it enough I'll get a few goals completed. Or maybe I'll get a couple rewards- a gem bag would be pretty convenient to have for slaying, and herbicide would be a pretty nice choice as well (although that one is a little pricey). But I'd also like a scroll of life. Hm. 120k dung exp isn't too bad I guess, it would get me to 50 dung for my second bind, and I'd get enough tokens for both a scroll of life and gem bag. Or I might just do one dungeon and get bored out of my mind.

  15. Well, it seems my good luck streak is over.

No real good drops lately, a few mauls and d boots, but that's kind of average. My clue scrolls the last few days have been awful, I'm barely breaking the 100k mark when I price-check the rewards.

Oh well, I hope it'll start to get better again soon.

I've changed my mind a little bit about the order I'm going to do my goals in- I'm just going to go straight for 95 defense, then 95 str, then both 99s. No point in switching back and forth all the time.

I just can't stand training strength. I hate switching my weapon to something crappy. Sara sword is alright but then I lack a defender, which is a pretty significant loss in stats.

Wish I had the patience to get a chaotic rapier, but that's not happening any time soon. Ugh, dungeoneering.

I'm watching herb prices at the moment, hoping for a nice crash so I can afford the stuff I need for double exp weekend. It looks like they may be having a small crash right now, but who knows how long it will last or how far down the prices will go.

If I can't get the herbs and stuff for a good price, I'm just going to use what I have. It'll probably get me to around 82 or so, I'm guessing. So I won't be that far off.

Extreme sets would make this whole slayer thing go a lot faster, and it would be nice to have the super antifires for when I'm doing strength with the sara sword.

  16. Haven't done a scabarite task in a while, but I used to go to the ones east of the agility pyramid with guthans. They hit hard, and they're multi-combat, so I'd leave guthans on until they went unagressive, then continue to kill them like normal.

That's the only method I know of, and it's pre-summoning, so there may be a better way. But if you already have guthans, go for it. Always worked for me.

  17. I like your blog ^^.

P.S. U really have that much piercing?

where did u put them all?

I've always wanted to get a nape piercing. I think I'm going to get one soon..

    Thank you :]

Yes I do have 11 piercings, although most are on my ears.

3 on each earlobe, and also my left tragus. Then I have my nose, lip, belly button, and tongue.

I haven't gotten any recently, I'm more into tattoos now ;]

    In other news...

    NEW CLOTHES UPDATE!! :twss:

As I mentioned before, clothes are probably my favorite part of runescape. I love when they update the default shops~

    My new default outfit:

  18. For some reason I could not find this blog, I almost panicked. Weird.

College is good so far, nothing really eventful except a lot of parties and things like that, but when you're at one of the top 10 party schools in the nation, you kind of expect it.

It's a lot of fun, anyways.

So with double exp weekend coming up, I (like many, many others) have decided to use it for herblore.

Now, if I can buy all the herbs I need it will be a miracle, but I'm going to try regardless.

I will only need to make somewhere around 7k super energies to get to 85, and I'll be putting the herbs in vials beforehand, so I should be able to do around 2k pots per hour.

I'm also doing pengs beforehand. I just finished this week's pengs and got 78, and they'll reset tonight so I'll be able to do it again tomorrow for another little boost of exp. And then again the wednesday before double exp. So that'll save me a little bit of cash.

Hopefully at some point I'll actually be able to buy my herbs and seconds on the GE. Haven't had too much luck so far (only about 85 avantoes out of 7200..), but I haven't even had my offers in for 24 hours yet so I should get it all eventually.

Until then, I'll be slaying to try and make up for the ridiculously large amount of money I'm spending on this.

  19. I think pretty soon I am going to sell my bandos and buy supplies for 85 herby. I'll be able to stew to extremes pretty easily, since a +3 or +4 is way easier to get than a +5, and the super antifires are going to be worth it too.

Before I do that, though, I'd like to farm the rest of the seeds in my bank, check my kingdom, and use up all the herbs from that. Then I'll do my pengs, use it on herb, and also get all my effigies used up and put the dragonkin lamps on herb also. Once I'm finally done with all that, I'll take a quick break from slayer to sell my bandos, buy my supplies, and make a ton of potions. I'm estimating that this will cost me somewhere around 35-40m, including the cost of making a couple hundred each of extreme attack, extreme strength, and super antifire.

It'll also drive me completely crazy since I hate training herblore, but that's beside the point.

  20. Got 95 hitpoints & a whip drop today. Not bad. If I can keep up the good luck I've been having lately, I should get the 40m I need for herblore in no time.

Anyways though, in other news, I moved into my dorm yesterday. I'm alone at the moment since my roommate hasn't arrived yet.

It's kind of nice, but also pretty boring. And I'd like to meet some people, so I'll be going out this afternoon to wander around town.

    Sigh.

  21. Melee armour:

The best inexpensive armour is going to be barrows. The whole sets together aren't that great for everyday combat, but if you mix & match tops & bottoms you should come up with something you like. The best combination is a verac's skirt (2m) and either a torag or dharok top (both have the same stats, so it's your choice depending on which you prefer in terms of looks and cost). Consider upgrading to a set of bandos armour when you can afford it (about 23m for the top, 27m for the bottom). For a helmet, you'll want to get a helm of neitiznot (from the fremmenik trials quest), and a black mask (eventually upgrade to a slayer helm) for when you're doing slayer. Cape isn't too important at your level, a legends cape or obsidian cape is fine. For a shield, go to the warriors guild and get a rune defender, it should only take a couple hours. The best gloves in the game come from the recipe for disaster quest line, so just do as much of that as you can and use the highest gloves you can get. Dragon boots are pretty cheap (about 500k), so get a pair of those. Rings and amulets tend to be small upgrades that cost a lot, so don't worry yet if you can't afford the best. Start with an ammy of glory (75k), and upgrade to a fury (14-15m) when you can. A warrior's ring is okay (400k), but a berserker is even better (4m). The whip continues to be one of the best all-around choices for a weapon (about 4m, I think), but when you want to train strength, consider buying a saradomin sword (around 10m?).

    Range armour:

Black dragonhide will always be a good, cheap staple to have. As usual though, barrows is a good upgrade. A karil's top (about 5.5m) and bottom (about 600k) are worth buying if you can. Also, a pair of snakeskin boots is a cheap but effective option. Eventually you'll want to get a set of armadyl (top: 17m, bottom:17m, helm: 3.5m) and some ranger boots (17m). Rune crossbow is generally regarded as the best ranged weapon to train with, along with broad bolts which are fairly cheap but effective. If you haven't already done animal magnetism quest for Ava's accumulator, you'll want to do it.

    Magic robes:

Mystic is still half-decent if you can't afford better, but definitely look at getting a set of ahrim's robes (around 7m for the set). Battle robes are currently around 15m or so, but they're nice because when you use them, you have a chance of casting a spell without using up some of your runes. The staff of light (5m) also does this. Infinity boots (1m) are always good for mages also.

As a side note, I highly recommend training your summoning up higher as soon as you can. It's extremely useful for combat. Beasts of burden, healers, and combat familiars all have their specific uses, and they'll help you a lot if you plan to spend a lot of time on combat.
