  2. Used up all my charms for summoning and made it to 85. Wish I could have gotten to 88, but oh well.

I've still got a huge stack of herbs in the bank to use up- I think it's enough to get me to 77, not that great but atleast its something. Too lazy to do that right now though, so in the mean time I've been fishing for 85. Got 2 levels already, it's pretty relaxing but I find myself really missing the excitement of combat.. Hm. Maybe I'll have to return for 99 strength or defence sometime soon.

Anyways, I've got a pretty big stack of goals I'm looking at right now- I want to max my melee skills, possibly get 99 summoning, magic, range, fishing, construction, woodcutting, firemaking, and thieving. I want to get my herby up enough for extreme pots, prayer up to soul split and turmoil, finish the ardougne elite diary, maybe get enough dungeoneering tokens for a chaotic rapier, and get all the rest of my skills atleast 80+. So I don't know if I'll be able to do all of that, but if I do I think it would be time to revamp my whole goal thread.

  3. Scrap the d med helm. Those are about as useless as dirt these days. If you're training melee with slayer (I recommend it, it's a great way to break up the monotony of combat), do smoking kills quest and get yourself a slayer helmet. If you're just going to camp somewhere to train your melee skills, do the Fremmenik Isles quest and get a neitiznnot helm. They're hideous in my opinion, but have great stats.

For your top & bottom, barrows armor is a good choice. A torags top/bottom will probably cost you around 2-3m last I checked so you might need to save up a little money. They also slowly degrade over time, so there's a small upkeep cost, but it's really not very expensive especially if you're killing a monster with decent drops. You'll make up the money in no time.

Obby cape is still fine until you get a skill cape, you might also want to look into doing Nomad's Requiem quest and get a soul wars cape, which has an excellent prayer bonus for when you need it.

Ditch the sara sword in favor of a whip and rune defender- as stated in one of the above posts, you'll get the best exp training controlled with a whip. If you do want to train them seperately, only use the sword for strength, and use a whip for attack & defence.

Dragon boots are perfectly fine and will continue to serve you well.

As stated above, the best gloves are from Recipe for Disaster. The quest has several parts to it, and the more parts of it you complete, the better gloves you can buy. They go from bronze all the way up to barrows, with each pair slightly better than the last. Comparing the stats, I would only switch your combat bracelet for RFD gloves if you can get adamant or higher.

You can keep your ring of life as a safety net, but it really isn't necessary. Try a warrior ring (fairly cheap- about 500k), or if you have some extra cash I highly recommend a berserker ring (around 5m or so).

EDIT: If you've got any other questions about it, feel free to message me ingame and I'll do my best to help you out. I know how tough it is to come back from a long break- been there a couple times myself.

  4. Here's the setup I use for kuradal's dungeon-

    [hide]setup.png[/hide]

I keep all bones with the war tortoise- the profit is huge, and with the use of the fairy ring or a ferocious ring, it's so easy & quick to get back to the dungeon so it's definitely worth it. Using this setup and keeping bones I can get about 35-40 dragons per trip, so most tasks can be done in 2 trips.

The pots are supposed to be 4-dose (didn't have any in my bank at the moment to take the screenshot with).

I find that with iron dragons it doesn't matter much if you're using whip or LBS. You'll cut right through their defense either way with your levels, so it just comes down to personal preference.

For the cape, I wear the ardy cape 3 from the achievement diary (for the pray bonus). A soul wars cape would be better, but I can't be bothered to do the quest for it. If you have neither of those, a skill cape will do just fine.

  5. The bank is divided into member slots and F2P slots. Shown at the bottom of your bank screen. Try removing a few F2P items. (indicated as normal item name instead of member's object)

oh i see if i loose a few f2p items i can replace them with other f2p items ? is that correct?

Indeed. Keep an eye out for things like knives, spades, etc as they all count as f2p items but have no real use in f2p worlds.

  6. I've actually found that chewed bones aren't too rare of a drop. Just doing miths for slayer tasks I get about 1 in 20, but I might be unusually lucky.

Regardless, as others have said, go with mangled bones instead ;P

  7. Honestly I haven't seen a "bank sale" in about a year now. They were always a good way to bargain/rip off before GE though :)

They're still pretty common on F2P worlds

Most likely due to F2P lack of bank space compared to P2P.

I'd assume it's also because f2p can only use two GE slots for buying/selling.

Ah, I miss the good old days of bank sales and haggling prices. Good times ;P

  8. I wouldn't waste the points on exp, 10k slayer exp is pretty easy to get.

Why exactly can't you get a fire cape? With your stats it wouldn't be too bad, and it would be way more worth it to just get one instead of blowing through 2k points like that.

Personally I'd buy the faster killing method (which means you'll still need to bring a hammer to gargoyles, but it will automatically smash them for you. I bought this with my slayer points and I love it.) and spend the rest on slayer dart runes to sell for cash.

  9. As long as you have the full mime set, you can always just build a costume room in your house and store it there if you need to get it out of your bank or something.

  10. 1. Dragon square is pretty useless, I don't know why they even included it in the new barrows guide. In almost any situation, there's a better option than the D sq. It's still a viable option for a cheap shield, I guess. Your best bet would be to do summer's end quest and save up for a blessed spirit shield (about 4m last I checked).

    2. Not sure about zanik's bow (I think it's mainly used for pvp, but I'm not positive), but you'll want to stick with rune c-bow & broad bolts for almost everything. Salamander is good for barrows, but I can't think of any other real uses for it. Crystal bow has a few select uses (a lot of people use it at Tormented Demons from what I've heard), but it's not really good for general training.

    3. Torags is fine. You might want to consider a verac's skirt though in addition to that, for times when you need a little extra prayer bonus while still having good defense.

    4. With your defense, you should do pretty well tanking torag, guth, and ahrim (wearing melee armor for the two melee brothers, and range armor for ahrim, of course) and only using the ancients for verac and dharok. It should save you some money on runes in the long run, and I personally think it's a lot less hassle if you don't have to keep freezing them and all that. You might want to try both ways though just to see for yourself though.

    5. No idea, never been to DKs myself.

  11. Wtf? Rock lobsters don't drop blue charms?

I....don't know what to say to that...

Perhaps you could start by answering the question?

Not everyone here has been to rock lobsters.

I've never been there but the bestiary says that they do in fact drop blue charms, so I'm assuming what OP meant is that he got an odd number of them, which wouldn't make sense if they dropped charms in sets of 2.

  12. Darkbows are fairly useless, except for a couple specific situations (I think they're good in pvp? Not sure).

Stick with a rune crossbow for all your training, or any other situation where you need to use range.

Similarly, D2h is pointless, and you're much better off using a whip / D scim / sara sword.

  13. 1. I have 1000 harralander seeds, using super compost, and making energy potions, will this more than likely get me to 99 herblore? No. It'll get you roughly 400-600k herblore exp, which is only about 4% of the way to 99.

    2. If the answer to the above question is no, then what is a rough estimate of the level it will get me to? and how much gold roughly would it take for 99 herblore? Depending on your starting level, probably about 65-70. Herblore is currently an extremely expensive skill to level up. If you were going to buy all your supplies to make potions for 99, expect to spend somewhere around 200-300 mil.

    3. What would a good crop for making money to cover the costs of seeds and secondary ingrediants for the potions be? Toadflax are generally regarded as being a good, low risk profit, but you'll get less exp than if you farmed something higher like avantoe.

    4. Also time isn't much of an issue, but I would like to know about how long it would take me to grow these herbs for herblore. Assuming you're using all 5 patches, it would take you 200 farming rounds to plant all 100 seeds. Since it takes about an hour and 20 minutes for herbs to grow, it's reasonable to say you could get 2-4 rounds done per day, which means it would take you approximately 50-100 days (or 2-4 months).

  14. No! Don't bother changing to curses, reasons why:

-The deflects animation makes you lag like a mother in multi-combat

-The mage deflect does not work on dragon breath (I've died to steels 3 times so far)

    Clearly you fight steels wrong.

If you ARE praying u shuld be praying melee while meleeing.

Otherwise you shuld be maging/ranging from a safe distance and combo of shield + pot or the super pot = 0 damage.

Running past steels while going somewhere in kuradal dungeon?

Personally wouldn't bother with curses, they aren't that good on anything except arma or something to leech def.

Steels are at the very end of the dungeon, there's nothing past them.

  15. There's a couple things you can do to earn money without really trying-

    1. Farm herbs. Toadflax are pretty good at the moment. Just use supercompost, plant herbs in all your patches, and run back and check them later. You'll rake in a nice bit of cash with minimal effort.

    2. Do the quests kingdom of miscellania and royal trouble, and use your kingdom to make money for you. Put 10 workers on herbs, and 5 on either maples or raw fish, and just check your kingdom about once a week to get your approval rating back up to 100% and put some money in the coffers (try to keep around 1.3m in there if you're only checking once a week). With this, you can easily make a mil or two a week without any effort at all, possibly even more.

  16. I've heard that chinning nechryeals can be pretty good (about 180-200k exp/hour). You'd need to get your slayer up to 80 first, though you could do it with range.

They drop a good amount of crims and other charms, and supposedly you can actually profit from it, although I haven't done it myself.

There's some guides you can check out, here's a pretty good one.

You no longer profit chinning nechs :\ rune boots went down the toilet and you'd need some insane herb seed drops to cover it because they also dropped. It is still relatively viable as the loss is not too heinous (-200k or so a trip where a trip is about 1k chins), and it is about 160k range xp an hour... slower than other chin spots because you are looting more and need to use EE every once in awhile for some health (I did this for nech tasks for a looonnnng time, however no longer because it is no longer profitable and melee is sadly faster)

    Ah, ok. Thanks :P

Still, if you want to chin without breaking your bank I guess it's not too bad of an idea.
