  1. I must be pretty lucky, as my drop rate so far has been about 1 in 75.

I don't know if the drop rate differs per monster, but to me so far I've gotten more from greaters than any other monster, and they seem to be rare from hellhounds. Of course, that could just be random, but it's possible that each monster has a different rate of dropping them.

  2. I got a couple of levels today- 89 defense and strength.

Didn't really do any other interesting things, other than that I made a cool new siggy ;]

Herb farming is getting to be really annoying, I never feel like dumping all my gear in the bank so I can run around to all those patches. I haven't been doing it lately. Maybe I will once I finish slayer but until then I think I'lm just gonna skip it. Well, perhaps I'll just do it once per day, since I can use the ardy cape tele once a day. Then I can directly teleport to all my patches, which is a lot easier.

I think I'm going to buy 10 palm seeds and 10 yew seeds. It'll only be like 1.8m and I can get my farming goal in like 3 days or something.

Then I really only have to worry about herb farming for the sake of getting herbs, not exp. Cause let's face it- farming exp from herbs is slowwwwwww.

I keep 'forgetting' to do penguins. Or maybe my laziness has got the best of me.

    Eh. I'll do it tomorrow.

    (maybe.)

I'm going to work on this a little bit more tonight, probably finish my current task- Living Rock Creatures -and maybe do a couple more tasks. Depends what I have time for.

Living rocks are great though, I love the exp. I also love the fact that all the drops are noted and/or stackable, so I can do a full trip of ~200 without banking.

And maybe they'll be pretty good money, too, once all the hype dies down and the market is no longer flooded with living minerals.

    But I digress.

  3. They're very easy and rarely hit. They are all over the cavern so you should be surrounded by spawns no matter where you stand at.

For a task of about 200, I bring 4 extra bunyip pouches, a summoning potion (4), 2 super attack pots, 2 super strength pots, a pickaxe, and an EE.

I wear normal melee armor, preferably with strength > defense, and have a bunyip summoned.

After they die you can mine them for a little bit of mining exp (25 exp) and living minerals, but you need 73 mining to do it.

All of the drops are either noted or stackable, so you won't need to bank during the task at all.

Bunyip should easily keep up with the healing, but it's good to have the EE as a backup just in case they get a few lucky hits in (I've only needed it once in two tasks of about 190).

    Good luck!

  4. 2. I'm pretty sure all fairy rings are far from altars, unfortunately. If I'm wrong, someone can correct me, but I glanced over the fairy ring map and I don't think any of those are near altars.

    3. I'd definitely wait atleast another week to see what happens to d bones. They're already down to about 4k mid and seem to be dropping fast. Although I'd say getting 88 summoning first is a better idea.

  5. If you have a gilded altar in your house (or, alternately, you can use one in someone else's house), and you use the bones on it, you get 350% of the exp. It's just a little bit less than ectofuntus, but the speed more than makes up for it. You can get insane exp rates there with dragon bones. I'm not sure exactly what it is, but it's somewhere in the range of 300k exp an hour.

It's a pretty easy thing to do.

If it's in your house, your inventory should look like this:

    1 tinderbox

    2 marrentil herbs

Stack of house teletabs (I don't know if these existed when you last played. Basically, it's teleport runes condensed into a one-space, one-click teleport. They're stackable.)

Fill the rest of your inventory with your choice of bones.

If you train up summoning a little bit, it makes a huge difference if you bring a beast of burden to hold extra bones for you, letting you do more per inventory.

    Method:

    1. Teletab to house.

    2. Put a marrentil in each burner next to the altar, then light them.

    3. Use a bone on the altar. A "use-x" menu will pop up.

    4. If the house has a glory amulet mounted on the wall nearby (and it should, especially if you're using someone elses house), use it to teleport to edge and bank there.

    5. Repeat, get epic experience.

However, I recommend waiting atleast a couple weeks if you plan to buy your bones. There was recently a huge prayer update, so prices shot up to over 5k per dragon bone. It looks like they're starting to crash (down to 4k at the moment) so it'd be worth your time to wait a little bit before buying.

  6. KuraDAL, not Kuradel. Spelling mistakes grah! Lol.

I'd switch. With a ferocious ring, or even slayer ring -> fairy ring, Kuradal should be just as fast to access, and you'll get more slayer points as well as the opportunity to use the new dungeon, which is nice. Plus, although you lose dagannoths, you get to add warped tortoises (much better than the terrorbirds) and living rock dudes.

I haven't had time to actually try out the new tasks, but I saw it was in the whirlpool so it's worth noting that you can use games necklaces to get there pretty fast aswell (might be useful to those who haven't completed fairy tales p2/bought slayer rings/have ferocious rings). I don't know much more though :P

It's also fast if you just use lunar magics and contact npc to get assignments from her.

That's what I'm doing, so I've got a stack of teletabs for everything else. The only thing I really miss is high alch, but if I ever want to switch, I've got some astral tabs to change spellbooks quickly. So far it's working out really well ;D

  7. Kuradal is a good Sayer Master. The Cavern next to her offers players a huge convenience with Slayer Tasks. As soon as i hit 75 Slayer im going there ;)

But if this doesn't remotely convince you. Well then, stick to Duradel/Lapalok then every 10th task go to Kuradal for something different and some extra points.

Players if not having a Ferocious Ring can access the Fairy Ring in the Ancient Cavern (Anti-Dragon Shield is recommended)

    Under the Fairy code: BJQ

Below are the common Tasks, Exp and even Bonus xp for killing TzTok-Jad

    Can she assign jad?

I'm sticking with kuradal till max melee because I like convenient new dungeon, although I don't use it for iron or steel dragons due to the new place after the temple at senntisten, and the ferocious ring for the extra boost while slaying.

Nah, she doesn't assign jad, but if you kill him while on a tzhaar task you get 25k slayer exp.

The thing is, you can't kill him on a normal Tzhaar task as there are tons of monsters you have to fight before actually fighting jad. The only way to be able to kill jad while on task is to take Kuradal's offer on getting the chance to kill jad. She then bumps the number up to 280 creatures

Ah, I didn't know that, since I haven't gotten a TzHaar task yet.

    Thanks for clarifying ;]

  8. When I got 99 cook, I did monks from 85-94, then sharks to 99. At the time, it was a pretty inexpensive method.

Prices fluctuate a lot though, so I recommend checking out prices before you choose what method you're going to take.

With gaunts, you stop burning sharks at 94, and monkfish at 90. Swordfish are also good exp, you stop burning those at 81.

Without checking into costs at all, the fastest way would be: Tuna to 74. Lobsters to 81. Swords to 90. Monks to 94. Sharks to 99.

It's up to you to figure out what works best for your budget though.

    Good luck!

  10. For money:

    Zaff, of course.

    Pure essence in ardy.

Flax in seers (but it isn't really worth it).

    Sand from bert.

Buying broad bolt tips from a slayer master, and either selling them as is or fletching them and then selling.

    For exp:

    Phoenix

    Skeletal horror

    Jade vine

    Bork

Umm that's all I can think of off the top of my head.

  11. You mean in my signature?

There's a lot of websites that make them for you, all you have to is go there and put in your name and it'll generate one for you.

The ones in my sig are from runelegion.net and draynor.net.

  12. As someone who doesn't use a cannon, I much prefer Kuradal's tasks. I had a blue dragon task from her earlier today, and because of the new dungeon I was able to have 6 of them all to myself. I got 2 ferocious ring drops, which was more than enough to teleport me there and back enough times to bank all the hides and bones (giving me a 900k+ profit in about an hour and a half, which was really nice).

I'm at living rock creatures now, which is a somewhat long and boring task, but the drops are great- all of them are either noted or stackable -and the exp is pretty good as well.

So far, I'm really enjoying using kuradal instead of duradel.

But then, I never liked his tasks anyways. I always used sumona instead. So maybe I'm a little biased ;P

  13. I had the same problem yesterday when I attempted my first waterfiend task.

    Here's what I found out:

    1. Z spear is the best weapon, as far as a good balance between cost and power. If you have a lot of money though, SS is better.

    2. While they are still agressive to me, I pray range and piety. After they go nonagressive, just pray range.

    3. Healing is a big deal here. Enhanced excalibur makes a HUGE difference, and I don't think I would even go near this task without a bunyip. I'd skip it until you have 68 summoning for bunyip, since the waterfiends drop raw sharks and lobsters often, which makes the 'swallow whole' ability really useful.

    4. You might want to skip it anyways until your stats are higher, but you should be able to pull it off if you bring super attack+strength potions.

My invent was 6 pray pots, super atk/str potion, enhanced excalibur, teletab, swallow whole scrolls, extra bunyip pouch, and the rest sharks.

With my stats, which are reasonably high (89/88/88) I was able to do about 80-100 per trip, finishing my 176 task in 2 trips.

If you had a bunyip, you'd probably be able to finish it in about 4 trips, but without that it might take you a long time.

EDIT: Just checked out equipment stats, and I noticed that if you can't afford a z spear or SS, then try using a dragon battleaxe+rune defender combo instead.

It gives you +18 more strength (!!) than the torags hammers, plus all the defense bonuses from the defender.

  14. Hmm okay, that takes care of the green dragon problem. Thanks guys.

What about a weapon? Should I continue using the zammy spear or is a whip better? I suppose I could get a sara sword, I can easily afford it, but I won't use it for anything else so I'd rather not buy one just for this particular task.

Oh, and should I pray range or not? I didn't see anyone down there using it.

  15. Well, I just got waterfiends as a slayer task for the first time. I checked axe man jack's guide in the AOW already, and it suggested that I use range pray while wearing karils and using a crush weapon.

So, I loaded up on p pots and bought a z-spear for the occasion, just to go down and see most people using whips and not praying at all. And, to top it off, I keep getting blasted for 30-40 by those brutal dragons nearby so I can hardly even stay alive. I try to stay away from them but they seem to keep finding me >.<

I have a feeling the guide that I was looking at is pretty out of date, so is there anyone here who has killed waterfiends recently and can give me a hand with this? If I can't figure it out I'll probably end up blocking them, which I think is a shame because of the great charms they drop.

    Thanks in advance :]
