  1. yeah, animation turned out sort of grainy. I'll look into that in my next creation. And I'm not a first timer, just my first time using a version of ps better than 5.0, and it is my first time making animation. I've used 5.0 for some time, my abstract backgrounds never did get the same effects as what 7.0/CS can do. Maybe I can finally make some of those liquid metal/crystal themese :)
  2. yup, that's exactly what I did. I made the diagonal bar smaller, to save some size too. Thanks for the compliment. And it's 29853 bytes big :D
  3. sorry for the misunderstanding, it's my first sig in CS/imageready. So it's the first time I made a sig in a better version than 5.0 and first time I did animation. For the first sig, I used paint brush to color in some stuff because I didn't know the paint bucket tool was on the same button as the gradient tool  I should show you some of my old sigs, maybe I'll post them from my other comp. Those sigs were made on ps 5.0 so they were quite limited. So i'll say again, this isn't my first sig, but it is my first in using the newer ps and first time doing animation. Thanks for comments, I'll try to see what I can do for an avatar :D
  4. I think this piece should be called "end of the world" when all things are about to die... are you going for a new style now? Instead of making realistic photographic sigs, you've been incorporating supernatural settings, like the ones in movies. Whatever it is, I like it :)
  5. or maybe just trying to get some cash  J/K  Sig isn't bad ;)
  6. Many thanks to Col Avanor and Nadril for help. Col Avanor for help on saving it to reduce file size and Nadril for some help on where to go to learn some neat stuff :) Well I personally think it's my best, I know there is still a lot to improve on and hopefully i can get tons better with 28 days left. Feel free to rate and CC is welcome!
  7. Jab started out not so well-known, but his progress is evident and he just keeps getting better and better. I've noticed from your older sigs to your most recent. Good luck with your decision Lax, going to be a tought one. (ps. remember CR!)
  8. what exactly are sliders? I just tried to look for something that seemed related to what you were trying to say, but I couldn't find it. Help would be appreciated. Thanks.
  9. lol, your rite, ill get rid of the boarder. :) even without the border, you only saved 60kb and your sig is still over 3x the limit.
  10. If i have text animation, can I still save it as a jpg? I'm not really sure, this is the first time I've done any kind of animation and I noticed that all sigs with animation were gifs
  11. aight, I'll try looking for them, can't right now, doing some hw. I don't even know what you're talking about but I'm sure I can find them =) (p.s: yesterday was 24 hours since i started using image ready and CS so yes im a newb at it still)
  12. it's a heck of a lot better than my first. Anyway, it is pretty good. As a suggestion, try doing animation on the text since your username has "whoosh", you could try to make it like zoom/fade off the screen and come back ;)
  13. I finally finished my animated sig, and when i chose "save optimized as" and saved it as a .gif, the file size turned out to be 35kb. How would I minimize the file size without losing too much in size and resolution?
  14. It's really good, IMO, I think it would be even better if it was animated and his cheeks were glowing like this ---> Well not the whole face, just the cheeks :D

I think Mars is more like a desert, barren with nothing on it. Mars is a red planet but not that red, and I don't think there are any lifeforms on it either because there is no water (none?). You could try making it with mountains and craters and stuff, that's really what Mars terrain is like (well I wouldn't really know... havent been there).
  16. that's a decent background for your first sig. The cut-out rs items don't really match in there. Good attempt though :)
  17. hehe... sorry to spam, but I thought I would never find Lax on these boards... noticed it a while ago, just never said anything about it. Good luck to all that enter :)
  18. Done in photoshop. It's not the usual liquid metal or crystal theme, I don't do those because frankly, I don't know how to on 5.0  Well I'm currently trying terragen, but I got bored and decided to make an abstract. So here it is =)
  19. You're my inspiration for working on terragen, started on it just yesterday :). The clouds are awesome in that sig. Good job as usual
  20. In his post, he had the word "how" in caps, obviously that was for emphasis. It isn't just for rating, he's also telling people how to make those changes. Advice is good for directing people in the right path, that is people that do know how to use the program.
  21. i tried making my first one yesterday, turned out okay except the atmosphere was pretty plain, there was no grass on the land, and the sun's rays didn't really fit in. Well i guess that's just about the whole thing  But that's what i get for trying it without reading the user guide, i didn't even know how to save. Anyway, that pic had a pointed mountain, like a peak. Are we allowed to ask for advice without a pic of our work? Because then my question would be... what settings would you change to achieve a pointed-mountain landscape. I don't really remember what I did, played around with some numbers and got it. Thanks alot
  22. i can't do pixel sigs, well can't really do sigs at all... , but I think there are too many lights/windows on the buildings. Making more buildings or less windows on each building would make it look a lot better, nice statue of libery tho. ;)

Just wondering... what font is that? Btw, nice sigs and good luck with your business :).
  24. Yeah that is what I did. I didn't think it made a difference but I printed it on my sis's printer which is nearly the exact same (if not THE exact same) and it came out perfectly. No warped colors, just the way I wanted it to be. Kind of odd eh? :? Well thanks for suggestions, got the answer to my question. Mods can lock this =)
  25. lol, reminds me of the books of Redwall ;) Really nice job on the squirrel, I remember when you started to make rs characters out of paint. They were pretty good back then, but it's nice to see you've made a lot of progress :)
