interesting but, I think it is wrong. I believe God flooded the whole earth because humans had turned against God and God told Noah-a faithfull follower of God to build a boat a very big boat( read Genesis and see the dimensions). 50 years + later God told Noah to gather all the animals into the boat and flooded the earth with rain from what is believed to be a coat of water around the earth to make it almost perfect weather year round. After this Noah, sent out a couple of birds after it had stopped raining and when the bird did not come back he landed and reproduced from their....< I summed this up pretty quickly...so I may have left something out.

If you take that apporach then convientley all of Gods work can't be proved by us and by that token, disproved. Which to me is a cop-out. Well, if you believe in God, I think you're supposed to have faith that he did all of that stuff. It can't be proved, but it doesn't need to be. You've got to have faith that He exists and that He did all of that stuff. I don't think his work was meant to be proved or disproved. I'm not Christian, by the way. Just mentioning that. I have studied religious philosophy, and while i don't find it the most interesting topic in philosophy I still research and probably know more attempted and coherant arguments for the proof of God than you do. It seems, actually, that Tigra's post was not centered on him/herself, but was pointing out that, in his/her opinion, a lot of Christians are self centered, and wondering why, if God loves us all, he "blesses" one Christian who is pretty well off with a new car and no down payment, but lets a child in Africa die of starvation. This is as far as I can tell, at least, but I don't see anywhere where Tigra goes "wah wah, god didn't help me so he must not exist". A better interpertation would be, "wah wah, God didn't help starving Africans to just get bread and water but he gave a rich, well-off white person a new car, so he doesn't exist". The words are God breathed, you know, the very words of God through human writers. Ya, this can also touch on the basis of spiritual gifts such as prophecy. Of course, it is not direct revelation from, it a more awareness of your suroundings. Basically, you are told something about a person or place before you really meet them or go there. Not just Christians..anyone who has been chosen by God. Nothing to do with our purpose? It does. The chief end of man is this. To praise God and enjoy Him forever. The purpose of Man is to give God the glory. That is one fo the over-arching themes of the bible. Since you think it has nothing to do with our purpose, rthat means you do not understand the bible. You've read it. You've looked at it. But the Holy Spirit has not been given to you. So, naturally you are going to say," I was tought Christianity, therefore I understand it, I understand the bible(I'm not saying you do, I'm just making a point)"but if have been tought something and yet have no desire to get into it then you will resent it. Christianity can be compared to a woman and child birth. Those who are women and know what child-birth is like, know that no man will ever know what it feels like to give birth. Quite vague, just like the phrasing of your first post. Define "the message of the cross" perfectly, and I'll admit that your answer isn't vague. Come to think of it, define what that whole verse means to the point where there's no disagreement about it.-- ------------------------------------------------------- There will always be disagreement.
