  1. The only time I made money was when I wanted to get 43-52 prayer. I hunted red chins for 3 hours, sold them 750 each, bought dragon bones and used gilded altar.

But most of my money is from random things such as clue scrolls and randoms. I've also earned a nice amount from Hunter and Runecraft.

But I play the game for fun, I don't make money. I never train the same skill more than 1 day in a row. That's probably why my total level is extremely high compared to my total xp.

I'm very unlucky, I've only gotten three rune drops during my 3+ years of RS. Two rune scimitars from Fire Giants during the same slayer task and rune sq from a cockroach soldier. I usually don't have luck in party room either; however; I spent like 100k on my pure to get explorer's ring 3 and then bankers started yelling "1M drop in the party room" and I thought "why not?". I went there, and got 547 gold bars. I got 100k from them. My only lucky moment during my RS career -.-

My best clue scroll reward was a Zammy Page from level 1 clue in 2007... sold it for 175k. And a year later it was 1M, dang.

  2. Haunted Mine was the worst. :wall: Too long, hard boss fight.

Or, maybe The Great Brain Robbery, hated that boss fight, Went and got 65 Att, Str, Def to 70, just so I could do it. :wall:

I don't mean this as an insult or anything offensive, but I found your post sort of funny. Every single Quest on the Tip.it Guide that says it has a boss fight in it, I never take it seriously, none of them are hard lol. I killed that Barrelchest thing in like 20 seconds. Tip.it needs to rethink their difficulty levels for Quests lol, most of the "hard" Quests just are not hard at all. Some medium ones are worse.

You must've gotten lucky on Barrelchest. He's one of the hardest hitting and most accurate quest bosses in the game...

I did it at level 89. I happened to have a defence potion from Zogre Flesh Eaters which I did last summer :D so I used it. I won on the first try, although he hit constant 15+ on me. The secret is to kill it fast ;)

But what I really hated was Underground Pass. I did it at level ~70 in the summer '07. Took me two damn hours to get to Iban's Temple when I had the doll. Two most annoying hours of my RS career.

  3. I did it at level ~65 with no problems. The quest isn't that hard really, many lvl-3's have completed it...

You can do it with your stats. Use melee for the boss, and wear your best melee armour (addy/rune). Also use a ring of recoil. Use lobsters or better food. Monkfish should do the job. If you want to do it easily, poison it with a superpoisoned dagger and go to a safespot. When the poison wears off, repeat. Slow, but will kill it. Also, with your stats I recommend getting a combat potion and defence potion with you. Drink a dose of both before you attack.

If you want to use magic, use the rock as a shield. You can also try using a halberd.

  4. Just become a member when you want to.

    I recommend doing these quests:

Tree Gnome Village and Grand Tree - to get around much faster

Fairy Tale pt. 1 and the beginning of pt. 2 (you don't need the requirements) - Fairy Rings are extremely helpful

Priest in Peril - Unlocks Morytania

Recruitment Drive - Initiate armour is very useful when you use prayer

Death Plateau and Troll Stronghold (WARNING: Troll Stronghold is nearly impossible without 43+ prayer): two 10k xp lamps are always nice

Druidic Ritual, Wolf Whistle: Herblore and Summoning

Fishing Contest - you can use the tunnel to get past White Wolf Mountain

Recipe for Disaster - do as many parts as you can, you can buy very cheap and very good gloves.

    And other things to do:

Train Agility - faster run energy recharge and shortcuts

Varrock armour 1 - 16 battlestaves per day is 20k+ profit with one minute of work

    Explorer's ring 3 - yes it's a f2p item, very useful in members and f2p alike

To make money in members', you can:

Collect flax and spin it into bowstrings - 10 crafting required, good profit. Collect flax in Seers' Village and spin it in Lumbridge Castle. Gives a little bit of crafting xp. ~100k per hour I think. However I have not made bowstrings since they were 200 gp each.

Mine pure essence - 30 mining required. Average profit ~80-100k an hour I guess?

Kill Flesh Crawlers - I have not tried this myself but everyone says that they're good profit and xp.

Get 15 slayer and kill Banshees (level 23) - USE EARMUFFS! Banshees drop a lot of herbs and pure essence, and "a lot" means a lot!

You do not need to do everything, do whatever you like to do.

  5. I have an account named "Luftballons". (a reference to the song "99 Luftballons", pretty interesting that "Luftballoons" was already claimed though...) I also have a three letters long username "Z8w". I think all three letter usernames are already claimed :)

I once saw "Tool" in Lumbridge. Not too long ago. I also have seen "Battlestaves" in Forsakenmage's chat. And "Sokeripala" (it's Finnish and means "a piece of sugar") was funny too
