  1. About the "If I Had to be a Noob Again, I'd Say No" article: RuneScape isn't like other games, it doesn't have a starting area, and for the most part areas of the game aren't reserved for high level or low level content. You can go where ever you want and do what you want, and explore. Jagex tried to make Lumbridge a noob haven when they introduced the skill tutors, and guess what happened, it didn't work. Lumbridge is nice, but eventually everyone wants to move on, and that should really be sooner rather than later. If we encourage noobs to never leave Lumbride, they may never get a taste for exploring and quit.

  2. One time someone stole my wallet (they stole it intentionally, I didn't lose it), including my drivers license and credit cards and a considerable amount of cash, and then they mailed my drivers license back to me. It didn't really make me feel better, since it got delivered after I had already gotten a new one.

  3. Rename "Tip.Iters Runescape Events" to "Tip.Iters Events, Groups and Teams" to better incorporate looking for boss hunting groups or partners for similar activities.

I only disagree with this change.

The reason behind that would be helpful :P

I can just imagine it now, all the actual event threads getting buried in dozens of "looking for such and such group" threads.

For example, the RSOF (opps, bad example, I know) forum Teamwork has ten different "Corp CS 125+" threads, people need to join existing teams and stop making their own topics, but they don't.

If this was done, each boss would just need to have it's own sticky.

  4. The way you asked the question, I believe the answer is actually no. From what I understand, the way it works is that the ROW affects the normal item rewards as it normally does, without increasing the chance to receive a Barrows item; but if a Barrows item ends up in your rewards chest, it's more likely to be a better (more expensive) one.

  5. Respawn hubs have recently been reworked, with a respawn interface that allows you to choose which 3 items you'd like to keep and which respawn point you'd like to be taken to. As of the last Edgeville graphical update, new players can choose to respawn at either Edgeville, or Lumbridge (except for the first time they die when they'll be taken to the Grim Reaper's Office temporarily).

After Recruitment Drive, Falador is unlocked; after King's Ransom and completion of the Knight Waves Training Grounds, Camelot is unlocked; and after Nomad's Requiem, Soul Wars is unlocked. You may always choose to respawn at any of these permanent respawn hubs (Edgeville, Lumbridge, Falador, Camelot, and Soul Ways) on the respawn interface, as long as you've unlocked them.

You can also choose to respawn at the last minor hub that you visited, these being: Ardougne, Canifis, Daemonheim, Dorgesh-Kaan, Edgeville, Etceteria, Falador, Keldagrim, Lletya, Lumbridge, Seers Village, TzHaar City, Varrock and Yanille (note that you can pick to respawn in Falador and Seers' Village even if you haven't unlocked them, if they were the last minor hub you visited).

Therefore, it's no longer necessary to choose a permanent hub.

  6. 150800 (noted) adamantite ore is a known drop from the rare drop table.

@armybuilder: While the ring of wealth affects the chance of you receiving a drop from the rare drop table, it is neither required to access the rare drop table nor receive a drop from the table.

  7.

Taken from Zybez, originally from RV forums:

I believe that everyone knows by now that Runevillage's gold status has now been revoked by Jagex due to Hiker being on the sex offender's register. If you haven't seen the topic, it can be seen here: [no link]

It has been found out that he was once convicted of distributing child porn, attempting to groom a young boy on the internet and sexual battery of a 14 year old boy. He was also accused of kidnapping and giving drugs to him of which he was not convicted. It's a very sad day for Runevillage which has now been destroyed and all credibility stripped away because of an untrustworthy site admin. Hiker, we would all like to know why you kept this a secret. Most of us joined this site as children and I believe everyone had a right to know what you did. You should not of been allowed to make a website for kids but now the truth is out I think the question on everyone's mind is, why? Why would you do that? Why would you allow this to go on for so long? You must of known this would come out one day. So again, I ask you to please explain to the people who have been loyal to you and this site for so many years because now, there's nothing left to stay here for.

He was convicted of attempting to 'groom' a young boy over the internet. I suppose I was wrong that he wasn't capable of it. Oh well. He was also arrested for transferring photos of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct, twice. Once by mail, and once by computer.

I obviously am reading the info in the screen caps wrong, but where does it say he was convicted of attempts to groom or sexual battery?

Yeah, I too am curious to know where that above information has come from.

And being caught with a picture of a teenage girl and being labeled a sex offender at the age of 18 or similar, is quite different than being caught at the age of 46. He didn't receive those images in college and sent them on to some of his homies.

The information is from Zybez, sans the URLs that link to law enforcement pages. The bolded part was retrieved from RuneVillage forums and reposted on Zybez. I have no idea if the charges of 'sexually grooming a minor' in the bolded are true, considering I don't know where the RV people found that information from. However, the owner of RV was quoted in the OP here saying he pleaded to 'unspecified charges' of sexual battery.

Honestly, the classification of "VIOLENT" is enough for me to decide that Jagex did exactly the right thing with the information they had.

  8. I'm not so sure about the master runecrafter robes, but I don't see why F2p can't have the bonecrusher and a bury-x option. Also, F2p should really be able to craft chaos runes to bring the price down (I even think it wouldn't be so bad to let them craft law runes and give them Entrana).

  9. Mining shooting stars while wearing a charged Amulet of glory and ring of wealth produces lots of gems. You might want to bring a gem bag if the star location is far from a bank, as depending on your mining level and star size the gems can fill up your inventory. You can join the cc "w31 stars" to get star locations.

  10. An easy way to remember then/than is this phrase an English teacher once taught me: I found a panda and then we bought malt liquor. I hold my malt liquor better than a panda.

The pure ridiculousness keeps you from forgetting, and if you remember it it's pretty easy to see that "then" is for progression of time and "than" is for comparison.

  11. Here's a post made by Mod Mat K, it has some pretty interesting info in it. Source is at the bottom.

Honestly, while I believe most of the things he is saying, I really don't believe that there are things about bots that they can't tell us now but will be able to tell us some day.

  12. I miss the old mining rocks, where you could tell at a glance if they had ore or were empty.

Indeed. If there has even been a really bad graphic update, it's this.

I thought I was the only one who felt this way. The new rocks are way harder to tell whether they have ore in them, especially coal.
