Artificial_Doom_Flavor
An autobuyer is a typical macroer that spends its days doing nothing but buying goods from stores that its master will be able to resell for substantial profits. In free worlds, these can often be found in rune and arrow stores, especially in Rimmington and Port Sarim. Autobuyers, once they trade with the shop proprietor, will not receive any random events. This means that they can stay logged in and buying merchandies perpetually until banned, but their transactions with the owners will probably occur long before then. So what does this mean for us? It means less money for rising merchants, it means very few cheap runes for rising mages, and it means oodles of cash lining the pockets of macroing greedmongers. So, autobuyers SHOULD BE STOPPED FOR ALL THAT IS GOOD AND PROPER IN THE EYES OF THE ALMIGHTY SARADOMIN (May his pixels be blessed). I propose that all players who are buying items and are to receive an event be subjected only to random events that instantly teleport them to other locations to complete certain tasks, as other random events that do not immediately teleport have obviously failed to stop them even briefly. The events that should be administered include: - The Maze - The Mime Theater - The Pinball Game - Molly's Sister - Evil Bob's Island - Evil Bob's Prison Why? First, they stop the player from buying for a brief period of time. Second, it resets the aggressive zones for the player, meaning that a macroer who has an enemy lured to them can be destroyed once it teleports back  Third, it may very well interrupt some scripts, which will throw the less savvy macroing programmers for a loop (no pun inteded). This wouldn't be hard to implement, I'm sure. We'd be putting money back into the hands of players instead of into a macroer's pockets. Good idea? Bad idea? Pickle? What's your take on this? Silentsurf
Hmmm... I like the idea, but I can imagine many players complaining about getting too many random events. "I was about to buy a blue party hat from the general store for 1gp when I got teleported to this maze thing! *Swear, blame, curse Jagex...* Well, that example was too exaggerated. :anxious:

What, macroing programs are really that advance :o Or maybe it could be done so that the shop keeper will ask you to leave and if you don't he will ask an guard to come and kill you (with one blow) so you end up in lumbrigde/falador without any runes. And if people don't notice that the shop keeper warns you in the chat box they are just too stupid! Greedom1
Didn't realize this was the case. I support for rune shops and the like - less so for general stores. Also, stores in wildy (rogue's gen store) should be off-limits. (Can you even get randoms in the wildy? I can't remember seeing one in awhile.)
