How to get into Runescape Worlds with Firefox

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Some of you may have noticed that you can't use the old link saved in Firefox to get into a Runescape World. Why? Because Jagex changed all the world link. Now using this guide I'm going to show you how to get into ANY world using Mozilla Firefox and the new links to get into the Runescape worlds.

This is Not against the Rules. I sent a message to Jagex asking them if it is illegal to do this. My reply was it isn't considered against the rules unless you are using a 3rd party software. You aren't using 3rd party software by using Mozilla Firefox.

Once on the Homepage Click on the version of your operating system. In most cases it will be Windows.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

You'll get a message asking you what you want to do. Run, Save, or Cancel are your options. You want to click `Run`.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Once you have Firefox installed run it and go to tools.

Now choose the link of the world that you want and `Paste` it into Firefox. In this case I used the link for World 2.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

When that has been pasted into your address bar click `Go`. Doing this will take you into world 2.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Now to Save your `World Link`. Click on `bookmarks` right next to `tools` on Firefox.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Now you want to click on `Bookmark Page`. Clicking it will bring up a menu like this one.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

If you are making links for multiple worlds you would want to change `Runescape Game` to something like `World 2`.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Quick Access to Worlds or a Web page

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

If you have 1 or 2 worlds you want quick access to and don't wanna go to bookmarks and then click world and just wanna click the link right when you start then this part is for you.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Basically is the same thing as adding it to bookmarks. There are 2 ways of doing this. These also work with any regular web page. I did this for Runescape Help sites ( Tip.it, Sal's, Runehq).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

1. You start off by copying the world link into the address bar. Click `Go` so it loads the world. When Runescape has loaded you want to click and hold the paper with the corner folded. Then while still holding it you want to drag it down right by `Latest Headlines`.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

2. If you have already put a link to a World or a Web page into bookmarks but you want quick access to follow this. Open Bookmarks. Then you want to click the Web page or Runescape World and click and hold it. As in the first method drag and drop it onto the bar with `Latest Headlines`.

All jagex changed was the last part to the link so they could try to stop all the world switchers, theres a guide on this already, two really one with all thelinks listed and tell you how to make it your self and another were you can download the links to all worlds, so why copy them, all they need to do is update it, they also list how to do it in firefox.

Whats the point? Jagex just added the in-game world switcher which switches faster. ~28 seconds using in-game switcher, ~23 seconds using this one.

Well, I guess it's good if your just going to bookmark a few worlds, but before the in-game switcher was released I spent 3 hours makinga world switcher using this method, which is now useless.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

And those 5 seconds can make a difference, and just a few days ago saved me full dhide.

Yes the new world switcher is good. I added all the worlds in case somebody wants a world besides for world 2 or whatever and wants to get on a faster. This guide is mainly on how to get into poplular worlds like world 2. Worlds can be full as well.

Theres an easier way to get the bookmark into the area with "Latest Headlines" without having to click and drag the bookmark. When using the bookmark tool, just use the 2nd drop down menu and select "Bookmarks Toolbar".

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Also, instead of first visiting the page and then bookmarking it, you can just right click the bookmark tool bar area and select "New Bookmark". Than you can just copy and paste the URL in.

For those wondering of the RS world switcher, it isn't as viable as it doesn't let you into the login screen of full worlds.

Working way to get into the worlds and bypass the links page through a bookmark

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

This is probably too short and has too much of other peoples posts to make my own guide, so I'll just post it here to incorporate into your guide.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

First, use Bradley_006's method to creating desktops shortcuts.

However, in the notepad file (that you save to .htm) you have to put in the new world link found in this thread.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

For the file to go to firefox, make sure it is your default browser (Tools > Options > Main > Always check to make sure firefox is your default browser) .

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Once that is done, click the file and you should be directly at the login screen.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Notice the URL at the top of the page is the file path from your computer to the file. Press Ctrl+D and bookmark this page instead. Essentially, this is bookmarking the filepath, so when you click the bookmark it will tell the browser to open the .htm file you created, which in turn links to the world.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Clicking this bookmark should work for sending you directly to the login screen of the world you want.[/u][/b]
