What if Prices for the Ranger and Mage Class was cheaper?

Featured Replies

Warriors make up a huge population due to it being the most cost effiecent class in the game.

Now, add a few thousand "How do I make money" people in the mix and you got yourself a nice variety of billions of warriors.. and no rangers and mages.

Now, there is mages and rangers in the game, but they are usually outnumbered 20 to 1.

Did players make Rune Arrows or Blood Runes expensive?

The answer: NO.

Jagex did when they put the price tag on NPC items.

That means that Jagex is the one who made the Ranger and Mage Class expensive!

Thus, did players REALLY have a choice considering money was restricting them?

Is the Triangle truely balanced when your limited only the wealthy to have a choice?

Why are the other classes expensive anyway while warriors get away scott free? (I'm a warrior myself btw).

So, the discussion is, what if Jagex introduced a new update, that allowed all NPC shows to carry 100,000 runes and arrows of every type, and the most you would pay is 10 gp for a rune.

Besides Runecrafting completely going out of business, do you think this is how it should have been in the beginning? With all classes cheap in the first place?

that would rock for the magers and rangers getting lvls but it would ruin the whole economy. Also JaGEx would never make an update to help us.I thought ppl knew this by now...

Something like the magic/range tutors giving out arrows, but better ones, and making them untradable, would probably work better without killing runecrafting/fletching (arrows of course).

10 gp arrows/runes... as you said would just utterly kill runecrafting. <.<

But why is Runecrafting and Fletching in existance?

If you said to cheaper the prices of runes and arrows, you are correct!

The 2 skills are completely unneccessary if the prices were cheap from the beginning!

Plus, everyone would have a fair chance at picking the class they love the most.

At the moment, only the rich can choose. Even then, they are restricted. I have tons of money myself, but don't want to waste it on playing either of the classes due to me being bankrupt within playing a few hours of the skill.

This is why jagex has added trainers to the game...they give free runes and arrows every so many minutes...A person could train mage with these runes....and in the time it takes them to use them up...they can go back and get more.

all melee weapons and armor should break, just like barrows, except you should be able to use your smithing to fix it, with the proper materials and lvl. thats a cool idea right there. and also, weapon poisen should wear away after awhile to make it fair.

imagine only paying around...hmm...id say like 100 gp for a fire wave

price of a d skim 100k

now...

d skim = 1,000 casts of fire wave

whip = 17,000-20,000 casts of fire wave

see how this would totally make things unfair? dking would be extremally easy as you would practically never run out of runes, melleing would become practically extinctish, the economy would fall, dow jones would go up 5 points and the earth would fall out of orbit and crash into the sun

your not getting it at all.. just because someone can easily now use magic like melee, doesn't make melee extinct...

The expense of mage and range is part of waht makes runescape unique, unlike every other mmorpg where they are around the same cost. (because mages use mana, and there is only one type of arrow)

I like the system we have now, where you can choose the efficiency of your chosen combat as you level (bronze armour vs strike spells vs bronze arrows with a lame bow), where you can improve as you level. Sure, melee is comparatively the cheapest long term, but i like it :)
