These days both aren't really respectful in my opinion. Cooking is such an over-rated, easy and lazy skill. Which can cost alot, but doesn't really. The firecape on the other hand actually costs more* and takes quite some time to prepare, while cooking requires for you to just sit in front of a fire.

To answer your question respect wise Firecape>Cooking cape.

*This can change I know. By this I mean that you are not using sharks, but some lower quality of fish which is why I believe fire cape materials is more expensive.

 you care about what others on rs thinks about u.... thats never good

personally, i'd go w/ one of the harder skill capes like prayer (well not after pc :wall: ) hunter, farming etc.

if ur gonna do cooking and the such i'd go fire

What the others said.

Firemaking is one of my favorite skills, so definitely firemaking.

I don't really respect either but at least cooking has a point to training.

I would advise you to stray away from seeking respect through capes and other items. If you want respect, try to earn it through being a kind, helpful addition to the Runescape community :) Good luck!

BAM! Follow tripsis' advice.

here!

Judging from your combat lvl, having a fire cape should earn you more respect compared to a cooking cape which can be owned by a lv 3 drop trader.

Strangely with WotLK so near, I wished I could delay it a bit to push through that last TBC content in MH/BT :'(.

Dont try to gain respect trough capes..

Anyways Off-Topic, whatcha guys were talking about firemaking cape?
