Safespot for Ankous in Stronghold of Security Question

Featured Replies

I have looked at a few guides for the SS, but they do not give me a precise location to mage from on the 4th floor to hit the ankous. While I know that there is supposedly a spot in the south room, 2nd from the east, I do no know the exact location. I've been trying to determine it experimentally, but I end up taking loads of damage without finding it. If you know exactly where the safe spot is, please let me know in your reply. I am trying to assemble the scepter, and i just need the final piece. Safespots are a necessity, as i am a lv 43 pure. Screenshots really help.

In the NE corner room filled with only ankous there is a skeleton on the ground you can safe-spot behind.

Alright, thanks. I will check it out now.

Edit:

Is this the skeleton? And is it the only safe spot on the whole floor. Because 1) the Ankous are agressive 2) sometimes they don't always get pinned

Good to be gone :)

The northeast room spots are "cover" raher than safe, once melee'd into submission, mage can be used effectively. I lost piles of runes in that room, and completely failed to claim or hold a spot.

The first "Room 2" spot in the guide is the one I recognise (no idea about the others), easy to work, but DO NOT try to leave a trapped skeleton for later, if it is aggroed on you (turns toward you as you move), then you must eliminate it. Logging out from the safespot may be another way to make it go away. Remember, you can log in and out when they are non-aggressive and they will continue to ignore you, but if you get a random event that takes you away, they WILL become aggressive.

NB. If you log out of the safe spot while they are still aggressive, it is possible that you may log back in with one in the safe spot, it will probably attack you when it moves a step out.

The big room in the sw portion with the skeletons and Ankous has a safe spot in the bottom right corner behind the bones. U can mage there all day long and just eat mushrooms when u get hungry (they drop them).
