im not sure if you have to do the arena itself but the points needed are as follows:

 

 

 

• 240 telekentic points
   
  240 alchmist points
   
  2400 enchancment points
   
  240 graveyard points

No you don't have to do the Arena or anything.

 

 

 

The points are just for 'buying' the wand from the Arena.

 

 

 

They cost about 4.2M.

That's the points needed to buy a master wand all right, but don't you need to have bought a beginner, apprentice and teacher wand first, before you can purchase a master wand? (equals...a lot more traiing/points)

yes.. to buy the master wand you need to have every other wand in your inventory.
