jabraulter
ok heres the story. i got a pm from Lion_Red regarding my free pixel sigs. he ovbiously was determined to get one, so he suggested a reather peculiar, yet, very good idea for a sig. he wanted a horse racing sig. it was to include seabiscuit (horse) and war admiral (also, a horse) and they are racing on a track. now the problem is, horses ar EXTREMELY HARD to draw...let alone brushing and pixeling them. so i guess what I am getting at is, does anyone have any ideas of how i could make this for him, because it really interested me when i read the reqeust, but i know it will be difficult to make it look realistic. i dont want to "trace" a horse, because i know that i would get shot and yelled at and possibly banned... so if ANYONE, hind, jeppoz, m0ther, or the like, could give me any suggestions on how to do this, it would be greatly appreciated. :) -Jab-
teenageloser33
my suggestion is sketch it out on paper yourself... and then scan that into your computer and trace over that. Since its your own drawing theres nothing wrong with it.
jabraulter
hmm, i like that idea. now to do some research to find the right pose, muscle and bone structure.

Lowgravity
Just go into paint or whatever, scribble a really quick sketch of a horse without taking your finger off your mouse, and then you should have a very rough but workable outline of a horse, then you just refine the lines and touch up some things you messed up, and you have a outline! Also use referances.. Lowgravity, I want to be just like you. But...I never will be as 1337 as you. :(
youmakemesik
Well, unless this is against the request, I'd say just have their heads poking out of the 'place where they start' (what's it called?)... Their starting box or whatever it's called... That way, you don't reallyhave to worry about the horses body structure, muscle positioning, too jmuchh shading/brushing etc... jabraulter
yea it is against the request kinda. he wanted seabiscuit and war admiral racing and seabiscuit in front of him. going out of the starting gate wouldnt really show both horses and one in fron tof the other. ill ahve to think on this, cuz i really want to make this good. Keiphus
..... For a while you had me going that you were an artist with alot of potential. Judging by your last few posts, however, it leads me to rescind that ideal. Stop limiting yourself by only naming artists who you think would know. Not only does it make you look inferior to them, it also disenchants other users from wanting to help you. Nobody can give you a lesson in drawing. That's an assumed skill when entering into the field of computer graphics. If you want to do it right, I suggest you download alot of references from the internet. Then get out your sketchbook and make about 20 thumbnails of different ideas. Refine those you like, discard those you don't. Choose one, detail it in, and go from there. Don't expect to just use some contour line style to draw out a horse. You are going to have to draw out some gesture lines before you pixel it, if you want it to look right. But on that note, pixel is a waste of time when compared to real brushing. That's for another day.
