game_proffy
there are several things I want you to have in mind: 1. Using stat restorers may be actually a bad idea. The thing is, while the positive effects are not cumulative, the negative ones are. But this is exactly what makes the beauty of this situation! As soon as your skill drops to, say, 10-15 points below it's max, it will start drifting a bit up, and then a bit down. That's simply because the hances of getting negatives are the same as chances of getting positives, efficiently making the stat "float" around one point. 2. Take into account the Runescape timer. You know, the timer by which all farming plants proceed their growth etc? The fact is, all stat restoration happens on the base of such a counter. I believe, for stats it's about 2-3 minutes. You should perhaps figure out the counter interval and hitting moments. Why am I telling you this? Because you need to be careful eating spices when timer reaches 0. The stats may "update" and mess up your observations! 3. Good luck with buying/making all those stews! : As well as 3k doses of each spice... :wall: [EDIT]: Oh, didn't see that you already mentioned the "tick". Although, if I were you, I'd measure the tick timing and find some kind of custom timer on internet and use it. Dunno if anything like this exists though... Yes, I plan to do it this way when I do my testing, I'll just restore stats when they get to 6, unless I find out they can be negative. However, it is NOT true that the stat will float around one point, as long as the method isn't biased. Each trial is (should be) independent of the others. That means if I've already lost 10 skill levels, I do NOT have a better chance of getting a positive result at that time. I have the same chance of getting a positive result as I always do for each trial. [EDIT] Ok, I've thought about this and you're right. When a skill is at its base level and you drink a few stews, you'll tend to end up with less than the base because the negatives stack down to 0 but it only goes up to +6 with positives, and the positives don't seem to stack at all above the base level. When I'm kind of far below my base amount, the positives do stack at least until the base level, so the hovering effect will take over until I approach an extreme. 2. Yeah, it'd be good to use a custom timer and then not take stew around that point. It would eliminate the need to take damage and recalculate things whenever a tick happens. 3. Yesterday I posted a question to the RS forum asking for a response from JaGeX about exactly how it works. They haven't responded yet so they probably won't. I may end up using less stews because this is taking forever. I guess I should just do the runs, check the results, and if the deviations are too high, I'll do some more runs. It's not the ideal method but I miss playing RS.

katakid1
Very good however I have found that certain combinations of spices for certain players always give the same result. For example I have a +6 crafting stew that was 3 orange, 2 brown, 1 yellow, and no red that works 100% of the time. Thanks to Fally|Thor for the sig :Wub:It is better to keep your mouth closed and let people think you are a fool than to open it and remove all doubt. - Mark Twain3636 to 99 fletching on Katakid1 date unknown#13,300 to 99 range on April 2nd, 2008#14,323 to 99 mage on May 18th, 200899/99 mage99/99 range94/90 hp75/88 str
game_proffy
katakid1, are you serious?? Do you mean that certain spice combinations give fixed bonuses?? This needs more research...

[EDIT]Sorry, katakid1, I tried your recipe but it only raised my crafting 1 level. The most it raised anything was +3 for fletching. [EDIT]I tried a few trials of eating stew and I failed to take into account that they heal HP (because they're food)! I'll just have to use a timer to avoid the ticks.
