no offense its a text sig, only way it would have worked.. thrown in images and stuff would it have worked? NO

Seriously, you try it with images, etc etc.. it wouldnt work..

No because its meant to be simple eg when you see a typo in a tabloid do you see rendered backgrounds..? No, i cant even read the text in your sig.

typography can say as much as any image, I think you've got the right way of thinking but I agree you could experiment more with how you go about this. I wouldn't say just plop a render into the background, but think outside the box..

 

 

 

A good way to look at this would be to actually type it on a typewriter, print it out and take a high quality picture of the result.

 

 

 

you could also mess around with the line spacing, don't have it perfectly dead centered.. Having image/text slightly above the center is somehow easier on the eye, especially on display.

 

 

 

 

 

 

I quickly made an edit, probably a bit OTT on the back image, I know it wasn't your intention but I do think being a bit more creative could be to it's advantage.

I know you probably ment for it to look unpleasing to the eye with that white background, but Terley's edit is pretty good too

i was only joking..i only made that edit because i always see people on these forums go, 8/10 give it a border and it'll be better, yeah it is a bit plain, but it's still good, Terley's edit is great as well
