qezrex
Now, reporting players is good and all since it does send a msg to jagex or the admins stateing whom is doing what wrong, but is the 'report' button even worthwhile?? ive countlessly seen macroers and people doing the wrong thing almost encouraging people to report them, knowing that it will do next to nothing, i want to know, how many reports does it take for one to be banned or questions? i think too many. the report button should also be taken seriously and people whom do abuse the right of having the report button can get into as much trouble as the offender. all i want to see happen, is the report button taken more seriously and/or more power. since that is one of the few ways of stopping macroers or people doing wrong. qezrex
hmm agreed, but i mean, lets say if someone reports a particular person....... 10 odd times? THEN that would go further...eg: questioning the person and the people who posted the reports. if runescape would be a macroing free game, then i guess we'd have to spend alot of time on stopping them. Theres nothing worse than macroers in my mind. :)

unorclan
I agree that people abuse the report button...but you should not be punished for reporting someone who you thought was a macroner an ends up not one. I mean look at that lvl 3 cutting yews and not talking...looks like a macroner to me. :-w but, that lvl 3 could be a normal player - highly unlikely, so you'd report him. but theres a chance that he isn't a macroner....understand? Thanks to the amazing talent of Jopie211 for the sig!Finest Fist of Guthix Strategy Guide
ThruItAll
TBH, I think they only get permanantly banned when they have 10 blackmarks, right now, I think Jagex are having big problems with reports coming in, they are trying to find a way to handle those macros. Jagex get absolutely filled with lots of report abuse per day. danke Schon Sam!^^"Blood runs thicker, oh were thick as thieves you know"-Carl Barât

Mortifyer1
Ok as Unorclan mentioned that you know if they are a player who loves that skill. Well i ahd a low aco[bleep] that had like 40 fishing, but..... If you want to tell if they are a marcoer. Try to speak to them, if they do not respond, then they are a bot. If they speak then yes, also odd names such as 435435243 or lolt039338tty, etc. They are names that are to hard for one person to remember, you can also learn from that. As much as we all hate bots, we cannot stop them, unless jagex puts a block on bots, which would be hard to do. best bet is to try and ignore them, report them 1-2 times if needed, then let it be. We cannot stop them b/c some players are just to lazy and sad to enjoy the game themselves, and like to take the fun out of it. That just makes them lower. As i said just try to ignore them. 1/= '/0(_) C4/\/ R34D 7H15 7H3/\/ '/0(_) J(_)57 G07 />\/\//\/7!!!!!!!!!! http://sig.runeweb.net/sig/12/Mortifyer1.png

You will not be punished if you report an innocent player. The innocent player will not be bannned and the macroer wont be able to appeal (I guess from kbase) From Rule 7: "How does the new macro detection system work? Our new macro detection system monitors activity on our servers and detects suspicious behaviour. This evidence is reviewed by our team of experts who either confirm or reject the system's analysis. Jagex will not reveal the exact mechanics of how this system works because this would make circumvention easier. Will I be able to appeal against a ban for macroing? Our policy has always been that we do not tolerate any form of cheating. We do not ban accounts lightly. Significant evidence is always collected before any action is taken against a player. We will not reveal the evidence that we have collected, since most cheats only want to know the evidence so that they can avoid getting caught the next time." - JaGEx
