EDIT: What do you enjoy about vista?

I like the graphical layout of aero, also the switching windows. Also the asking to run programs is a nice security option.

Vista is a good program but, you need a nicer graphic's card to run it like a 128mb, because all the fading and messing with the angles and etc to make it look nice...that could be why may need a better video card if not idk why then unless you got alot of stuff jammed into your computer.

graphics card is ok, maybe I just expected vista to be faster. Does anyone know how to do this in this article?

USB key speeds up Windows Vista

Windows VistaMicrosoft's upcoming Windows Vista will allow users to add memory to the operating system through the use of USB memory keys, the company revealed at its Professional Developer Conference in Los Angeles.

The option is part of a technology called Superfetch designed to make the next version of Windows faster to use over time.

Superfetch will monitor the data and applications accessed by the user in recent months and preload those into its memory. This allows for faster access to data and applications.

In current Windows versions the software loads applications and data only as the user asks for it. This takes time because Windows has to load not only the application itself after a system reboot but the drivers and other auxiliary applications.

"Superfetch works great if you have a reasonable amount of memory, and it works fantastic if you have boatloads of memory," Jim Allchin, group vice president for Windows platforms at Microsoft, told delegates in Los Angeles.

"But even if you don't have boatloads of memory, we have thought about that [with the USB option]."

Go to the properties of your thumb drive and go to memory and click use this device along with setting the amount of memory you want.

Use task manager to see any processes that may be hogging your cpu.

Well, if I had to choose between Vista and xp MCE, I would have a hard time:

-Areo is awesome

-xp has Direct x 9 which is lots better than 10 in terms of useability

-Vista has better security

-Vista has a new kernel(sp?)

-xp has the old kernel

-halo 2 works on vista

-Xp runs more stuff

-vista takes lots of ram

- and harddrive

-the list goes on...

My friend got Vista.............thing is that 75% of his Windows XP programs won't work on Vista. LOLZ!!!

I like the whole GUI of Vista. Looks more stylish and alot cleaner than vista. One thing I would have to change though is the way the 'All Programs' list appears. It should pop out like it did with XP, but I can live with that. The aero effect is very nice and is an absolute improvment.
