hisensei808 Posted April 21, 2007 Share Posted April 21, 2007 I have searched thhe forums left and right and what I have notice (on the RS forums) is many pkers are ranting about the update with the Tele-Block (TB) spell. Presently, if you are TBed then you remain TB even if you log out and log back in. The spell lasts for a full 5 minutes, logged in or not (although, it is "rumored" to be at random, but I think this is not the case). The good news is, if you are TBed and at anytime exit the wild, by any means (I.e. Zammy mage, walk out of the wild, teleported by another player) then the spell wears off instantly. The only argument I have seen against this is that many pker complain that now they would have to wait to access the Mage Bank in 54 wild. Many argue that this update "ruins" the game. I am sorry, but I completely don't see how something "challenging" ruins the game. I decided to bring this discussion to a bigger audience. I have posted in other areas of the internet to help me gain a clearer picture as to how this particular update has "ruined" pking forever. I do pk, and I have never used the "log out and log back in" technique of erasing a TB. But that is just me. Therefore for discussion....The TB Arguement.... Is the updated version bad and should Jagex return to the old system? Once you've left the wilderness you are safe, so either you loggout and back to erase a tb is the exact same thing as just having that tb stop. Some argue that it's too easy to dodge poison but the only possible scenario is where the person has no food, is poisoned with 6 hp or less and has a house teleport with them and makes it out of the wilderness so they can house tele just seconds before poison hits. I mean, its better if no longer fades off when you log in and out, as in theory, you can stay forever in the Wilderness and have no fear of dying. (Just out run the attacker, log in/out and then you can telly away, or just hop to a safe world...) This new spell does make Pking a little more exciting, and gives it more risk. 123Yourgone Posted April 23, 2007 Share Posted April 23, 2007 Of course a bunch of low lvl no names will agree with you, of course you cant see how this update ruined pking, if you step into wild at the magebank your going to get destroyed though. Heres an explanation of why the wilderness is ruined by this change. The mage bank lever cannot be used while you are tbed, niether can the ardougne exit lever. So if you are tbed at magebank by a team here are your options: Die. Thats your options, thats the only option available now is: Die. Your in lvl 53 wilderness, you cant leave you have a bunch of moronic di or rot members tagging you and screaming owned. The only thing you can do is switch worlds, wait, you log in and theres another team, they start tagging you, you still cant get in mb. Your only option is death, that or running 53 lvls through the wilderness, with a bunch of ancient mages chasing and freezing you. This is the stupidest update since tb, which ruined solo pking the second it was created, tb was fine untill they changed the mage bank ladder to a lever, that was the nail in the coffin of the mb pk scene. The mage bank was never safe, it was always a solo pkers best bet for a good fight, and a lot of people died there, it took skill to pk there, knowing when to spec, when to eat, when to run.. now its when to tag, when to pray and when to teleblock. Its become a tag teaming loser hotspot and multi combat wilderness is deserted becouse its more profitable to pk in single area with teleblock. Basically, what is happening now that couldn't happen before the TB update? I have to run past the mage bank several times when treasure hunting, and have never had much trouble there. But if there are now mobs of pkers there looking for the now easy kills, I'll have a bit of a problem getting passed with only my dragon dagger equipped. I do think that not clearing tb after logging out is a good idea. I don't really understand why they would make it so that it didn't. I also understand why they would make it so that telebock prevents you from using the levers. That deep in the wilderness shouldn't have an easy escape option like that. Maybe the best thing for this particular part of the problem would be for Jagex to finally fix tagging. Or perhaps a new potion or magical item to erase a tb. There have been a couple quests (Wanted! is the main one to come to mind) were they talk about people who's teleportation abilities are too strong for conventional tb spells, so perhaps there could be a way for players to get those increased teleportation abilities. The easy escape was fair, becouse you could get attacked by some one 50+ lvls over your own, if they didnt kill you before you got away they didnt deserve the kill, in modern rs there is enough ko ability for a meleer that if you dont kill some one before they ladder they could have just ran through pirates and logged anyway. No one likes the new mb except tag teaming little wusses, no one uses multi anymore, ever.
