Ok so i'm worki ng on a new website design for a friend. He asked me to use orange/brown and 2 sprite's in it. So i just started and this are the 2 versions i came up with:

EDIT: Ok so since V1 was bad, V3 with border is terrible i have a v2.1 with border. I hope this version is a bit better :anxious:

 

 

 

Yes i know its a pretty easy to make banner but its what he asked :wink: Also that "the power" is what he wants in it.

I would try and add some type of brushing or some such around each character... like a red aura on the lh side and a blue arua around the rh guy... maybe use a really small render in there too

v2 is the best, maybe add a border like runemetsa said (yay wrote the name right!), and dont you think it looks a bit... empty?

 

also if its possible maybe make the sprites have a bit more the colors of the bg so it looks like theyre drawn on it

my bad, didnt notice that it says "with border", and as my forum background is black i cant see black borders... anyway i said maybe add a border to v2 and not v3 :P

Looks good, just two questions though, what sort of website is this for? and the Rik is there just so people know your making it for now right? like a "Sample" thing... Silly questions I know, just wondering

 

 

 

Anyways as for the banner, the v2 looks best imo so far, the 2 bottom ones seem too um smudged/blurred (I don't really make these sigs at all...struggle to work through all the buttons lol)

 

I guess and the blue definately shows that alot more.

 

 

 

Hope that helps, maybe try gives the sprites more of an "auro" around them, I think that's what your kinda going for, but yeah it's blurring the actual characters too much, it would be good with the quote "The Power".

i still like the v2 most. the colors of version 3 is bit off and the border is too big. try to do the movie border about 5 pixels.

What i ment was more somthing like detailed in this tutorial with the lighting effects and such but of course on a smaller scale

You can cut out quite a few of those steps and still get a really nice outcome...

V3 no joke.

ok guys thanks for the comments, and i have a V2.1 since almost everyone thinks V2 was better.

as far as i can see its clouds or grunge brushes with 2 sprites and minimal smudging to try and blend them in.

 

 

 

i would do more with it, i would make it like an epic battle between them - hard to explain, but id do it. also, the 1 with the border will ultimately look much better IMO - it gives it a sense of body, of being there (hard to explain again)

 

 

 

V3 is horrible btw - why blue around the guy? it does nothing for the sprite - hes black and purple not dark blue.

yep first part is right, and i untherstand the battle thing. I also try'd some thing with a battle'ish look but it never looks better then now :anxious: If u have an idea how i possibly could make it look that way, please tell me :

BG image. c4d. smudging. filters. just try and try again. consider it an LP of a sprite battle tag. and btw, its good, but its not great.
