I saw the pics from a guy of the Hogwarts founders, and it inspired me to make a pixel Slytherin :D note that this one has nothing to do with the inspiring one, it was just the idea.

You will notice that heÃÆââ¬Å¡Ãâôs holding 2 of his known relics, his locket (made more or less like the one on the cover of deathly hallows adult edition) and his ring, which would later cause big trouble to Dumbledore :? CC is especially needed for them

 

 

 

and most importantly, comment on anatomy and texture, i really had problems making the robes look cloth-like, so comments on how to make it more cloth-like will be a gift.

robe and anatomy are wrong. robe looks FAR too big for someone with his anatomy (id be thinking along the lines of an anarexic IMO due to the arms)

 

 

 

the thumb is horrible. doesnt look realistic, and it doesnt look like hes holding the wand, it looks like its falling out his hands. shoulders dont work - the ro be is hard to make out due to the fact its a pure black BG - makes it look like 2 random holes around his neck. the hood is good, but the face isnt.

so i make stronger arms, fix the shoulders, make a better thumb and a better face?

 

now, i need to know whats exactly wrong with the face, need help

His shoulders are weird, and whenever I think of the Hogwarts founders I think of somebody older then what you created, it doesn't really look like someone who would "find" a school, more like a student. His sleeves are too big, and I think it would be better if the glow of his wand was bigger (the glow at the end of the wand).

anyway it is really goood one of the best pixels i have seen :thumbsup: The anatomy is great aswell!

the shading makes the piece look like a chunk of cardboard, its good th shade around the object, and the best practice is to look at REAL cloth bending around your arm (power of a mirror) as you draw.

 

 

 

another thing is i find the 86 colors you use to be in much excess, i could see that piece done in 12, and even then that is a little much, dithering is used to lower the amount of colors in the piece. and a bit of AA wouldnt hurt either

With the right arms thumb, maybe make the bottom of it look more distant, because it kinda looks like it's meant to all be part of the thumb where as I think anyway it's meant to be just the fatter bit at the bottom.

 

As for what was said the black needs to be changed if your using a black background, it's way too hard to tell between the two which is taking away from the person's shoulders. Give some more grip to the wand probably wouldn't hurt either. Also making the guy look a little older, I'm not sure how you'd accomplish this, it seems hard but yeah that would make it look pretty good.

 

 

 

I like the contrasting and the detail so far, just those things would make it great.

make the BG a diff colour and it should look much better. maybe a grey?

Updated version! With stronger arms, a bit better face, fixed hand and another few fixes. Removed the cape as it didnÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t really fit, and changed the BG from black to a very dark grey

 

 

For those who think that he looks too young, I will make an extra version with beard. He actually had one, his statue in the Chamber of secrets is descibed as having a beard that touched the ground (IÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢m not going a beard THAT long!)

2. the point of pixel art was to be used with minimal colors, you dont have to, but it sais MUCH more about your skill if you dont need many colors, contrast is key, as you have many colors, but they all look the same to me, leading to the flat feel
