Declining price of nats?

Featured Replies

Wow, it's not like it's a puzzle to figure out why nat prices are going down. Everyone has a thought in their head that says "Hey - I feel like making money! Let's buy some pure ess and craft natz!" Since tons of people have that idea, other people say "I am paying too much for too much" and do not pay such high prices for such an invaluable item.

I would be very surprized if the price ever fell far bellow 300 each, if at all bellow 300. There is such a huge number of nature crafters and they are stubborn enough to where they will not allow it to go bellow 300. they were happy when it jumped up (due to pure essence) but there would have to be a record amount of autoers to drive the price much bellow 300 each due to the number of legit crafters. The reasons sharks can fall so much is because of the few shark catchers compared to autoers.

Everyone who deals in raw materials is going to have to get used to the fact that auto'ers are going to drop the price of their favoured item. And the reason is this: JAGEX DOESN'T GIVE A T*SS ABOUT YOU. Auto'ers are, in the words of a business like MMORPG's, ' a burgeoning economoy', in other words, a chance to make money. If massive amounts of Chinese gold farmers are prepared to pay for membership fees for their 'Mage Log Cutters' and 'Shark Fishers' why would they want to stop them? Ask yourself this ... how does a W/C auto'er get to 98 w/c without getting banned???????

1) Jagex has to handle way too many ban reports (for gosh's sake a level 114 reported me for sarcasm) to have an efficient ban system. Result is that new autos can constantly find ways to get around the system.

2) Autoers are horrible for the RS economy. They lead to inflation. Take, for example, Yew autoers - with the number of yew longs they introduce, you're probably increasing the amount of GP in the economy by 50%+ every year (assuming that the longs will be alched). What does this lead to? Everyone becoming rich, high-level armors becoming useless, and the only "desirables" (rares and 3A) shooting over 100M. We see these symptoms today - and it's bad, because level 75s have whips and can actually hit through my 88 defense.

Please, I really hate it when people act like they're "smart" - in reality there are always people smarter than us.

Nats were 500ea back in the day. And high number of crafters --> high supply --> competition --> lower prices.

Nats are stable around 200-300 because they will always cost more than chaos (whose price is regulated by stores), and have ties to alchemy values, which are permanent.

Natures have always been a core part of the runescape economy. Without natures, pretty much NO cash would be put into the game (Alchemy spells)

When natures go up, it's usually because of a break of school or something.. because someone says: "I'm gonna make a pure" and decides to buy 50k natures for it.

During summer the price will be more stable at I'd guess around 310-320, because right now prices are all over the place (Only by a margin of 10-20gp though)

First things first: Natures have always, ever since RSC, been around 300ea. Now sometimes, they go up to about 310-315. Rarely 320. Not long after that, prices go back down. A few reasons:

1) Essence price. Natures are mostly crafted (around 90%+) and the runecrafters want profit. Obviously, they seek the limit to what they can sell for. And if their essence goes up, thus their cost to make a nature rune, they want more money for it. Simple.

2) Merchanters streak. Merchanters buy nature runes for 300ea and sell these for.. Ofcourse higher prices. Obviously 310-315. Bulks! People buy these, because they don't have to search 10-15 crafters to get the amount they want. Crafters see it, guess what happens. Merchanters stop when prices go up and prices steadily drop back to 300.

3) Suplie and Demand. Sometimes, people want their nature runes NOW. When they want it, like they want it. And if there aren't enough natures around, or other people are buying them to. Then they just raise the price, pay a bit more, but get their nature runes faster. Obvious. Then shortly after that, when a few more crafters sell their nature runes. Prices slowly go down to 300 again.

Why prices always go back to 300: Nature runes are used for high alching. You get a set-amount of money from a succesfull alch. If the price of natures raises, they make less money with alching. Or more loss, just how you look at it. So the alchemists want their nature runes as cheap as possible. But crafters want some good cash aswell. Suplie and Demand takes place.

Why essence prices went falling down like bricks from an airplane? Few reasons aswell:

1) Essence-autoers: Pure essence was getting worth it. So hey, let us switch that programm to that old essence mining one and see how much we can make. More essence on the market, thus lower prices.

2) Merchanters. Ohh.. guys! Prices are going up! Let us all buy lots and lots of essence and then sell it a week later with 5%-10% no, even 15% profit! Millions baby. So they all buy it. Essence prices go up.. we wait a bit longer.. essence prices go up a little more. Now, SELL SELL SELL! All of the sudden, a huge suplie of essence falls from the sky. So much they can't get rid of it fast enough. Everyone has enough essence and MORE is coming. O my god, prices which skyrocketed upwards now lost their fuel and are on their way to crash on a hard brick floor. I love this process

Anyone willing to answer to this? Or shall we leave it with it?
