You have no idea what you are saying. I think you even confused yourself on that one. What else did you want me to tell him? Did you want me to hold his hand and do it for him? neo_bahumat Posted December 23, 2004 Share Posted December 23, 2004 well its not bad, however its a bit blotchy, but after browsing around sites at different work similar to this, i found it was actually rather similar, as i saw that shading in alot of manga wasnt "realistic" eg, DBZ shading is all over the place, but it adds to the pictures, overall not bad, i personally tink the template u r working on is pretty shabby to be honest :( my advice would be to start from scratch but on the same template, were just aiming to get ur colouring up to a good standard, first off use ye ole http://www.google.com/images and search for similar work, and note how they do the shading etc, try and perform it in ur own art, also its almost as if your fill tool has a too higher toleranc, and it "eating" the linework, knock it down and give it another shot m8 :wink: also this whole teenage, kephius war is pretty stupid, mainly coz kephius hasnt done any research into this style at all, and its clear, also if ur gonna call it crap (which was the point you made, you just sugar coated it) offer some decent advice, rather than some bs about, look at the human anatomy... yeah that helps him improve dosnt it :roll: and one last thing, uh who died and made you king, you cannot say some1s opinon i wrong, nor can u say there art sucks, eg in my opinion ur an over rated average graphics designer, but heck some people might disagree, and i might think ur sig bites, but it dosnt mean it does... im fed up of people, just coz theyve been here for years think they can tell people whats good whats bad, yet not help them, and who think there above other people, ive been here years but i dont go discouraging newcomers etc, and the people who suck up to him, not mentioning any names.. advice (yes advice not pointless mumblings) take a look at ur own work. :wink: Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

See that is the style of manga/anime and beauty is in the eye of the beholder and if I may say so myself, Keiphus you must have a pretty ugly eye. The shading is totally different. In the above image, shapes and lines are used to shade, where Victim uses a burn tool and has very soft shade transitions. Not to mention, the shading isn't even consistent. But that isn't even the point. The point is that the shading needs alot of work, and the only way to improve on it is to read up and learn. Look at pictures, read books, do something to educate yourself on your subject. It doesn't matter if you intended the shading to look like that; it still sucks. As I said before, art CAN suck, and you know you are [developmentally delayed]ed when you go around saying that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, only to defend your own work. Why bother posting if all you want is praise? Don't try and criticise me about styles, I assure you I can best you in them all. If I wanted to sugar coat it, I would have. I have no problem telling somebody that they suck. Nobody died and made me king, I can say whatever I want. I just want to practice, if somebody has a decent rl outline of something I would much prefer to do it on that... BTW, manga shading is way to easy, that takes like 2 seconds in paint and isn't what im trying to practice, if I wanted to practice block shading, I would have said.. Also even if it wasn't they style he was trying to achieve it still looks like that style to me. And I don't believe my intellect has anything to do with this, I believe its the fact that the arguement just didn't swing my way. That isn't at all accurate, and the hair needs work too. Ditto. A lot of it looks like random burning... Its not bad for a start though.
