Victim
HMM! That's true, or maybe it's like one of those those jacket watches that clips on or something, I may add one when I have time.

Keiphus
Needs alot of work... I don't know what to suggest, other than you should study how to shade the human body and stuff like that.... That isn't at all accurate, and the hair needs work too.
teenageloser33
Keiphus if you don't even know what to suggest then how can you precieve if its accurate or not. Remember in today's world accurate is a relative term. What may be accuarte to you, may not be accurate to me.
Zonorhc
Note how Keiphus said "other than." There was an exception. I don't really like the drawing myself; the head's far too big and just way too manga-ish for my liking. The eyes... Well, I think they need a bit of colour. The sword's nothing to celebrate about, either. Why such a long hilt for a relatively short, thin blade with no crossguard? That's about all I'm going to say at the moment. teenageloser33
Well I do agree Keiphus is a very knowledgable person but in a lot of cases I don't believe he is right. A lot of people will kiss his a** any time but I will refuse to do so. I believe its a well forumlated piece of art but the eyes do need color. Keiphus
He never asked you to agree with him whether or not I am a knowledgable person. You obviously have something against me, and are trying to bring it on this thread. If you want to talk about something, feel free to PM me. Sorry, but opinions can be wrong, and in this case, yours is. When I say accurate, it's obvious that I mean that the shading does not match what you would see in real life. Or even on a cartoon for that matter. It's blotchy and inconsistent. It's too smooth. Parts of the illustration (the black lines) are cut off, which tells me you didn't even use the fill tool correctly. Don't be naive about that the fact that someone or something needs improvement just because you think you are an artist and that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Art can suck. ColAvanor
The coloring is well...try making more defined areas for cartoonish look. As for Keiphus matter. I don't brown tongue him, I just find it amusing that people start to argue when he is absolutely right.
teenageloser33
No we'll leave it on this thread. Obviously you are not looking at the type of art he is doing. It is a manga style type of art, and if you look at a lot of manga art, the skin tones are blotchy and too smooth as you said. Also Col, when have you ever done this type of art and showed, I can't quite remember. You must also note the fact that I said "a lot of people" not everyone a lot of people. There is a very big difference there as well. J_Rod_The_Ti well as for what you have to say it just proves my point that more and more people are getting chocolate on there nose. Now you can all disagree with me or some of you can agree with me. Honestly I don't care, but art is art. Art will remain art till something comes and says it isn't anymore. Not everything is perfect, not everything is total crap. All work has room for improvement, but if you say it needs improvement. Say more then "other than you should study how to shade the human body and stuff like that."
ColAvanor
actually I made the manga type of chick back a looong time ago. (well not that long). Before I made any other brushing sigs...I think. Oh, and the shading is in noway manga type. It looks like a bit of havok with burn tool.... Zonorhc
I just don't see it as good art. It looks like just another glorified DBZ/RS hybrid. I have a distaste for manga in general, anyway. Yep, I'm the Asian who doesn't like manga. Varrock Library: Shattered Sky | Silent Thunder | The Emperor's FinestAstri @ MythWeavers

Because I have time for that. Your name alone disgraces you and discourages me from wanting to continue this oh-so-fun thread.

Eldin
Back on topic In my opinion the brushing does look off and blotchy my definition of manga was very squarish, similar to dbz characters or maybe im mistaking the two (anime and manga) in relation to the brushing, gives it a very rounded appearance for a 1st attempt it isnt to bad, youve realised you need a lightsource and various shades so your onyour way to enhancing your pieces just gotta work on consistancy of your brush strokes and adapting to the style you wish to create
teenageloser33
Honestly I have no clue what my name has to do with the person behind it. I never said you had to give him a lesson in anatomy or shading. But you could have given him a few small pointers instead of being a total well I won't say it and posting something blunt and discouraging to the artists himself. Keiphus you are a discouraging person to others as a whole, due to the fact you think you know just about everything there is to know about every type of art there is. See when you post your 2 cents, it'd just be great if we could shove ours somewhere else.
