Diesel
I just got Mario Party 8 this past Wednesday. I haven't had much time to play it yet but it seems pretty good so far. The mini-games seem to be of the same Mairo Party style. The last Mario Party I bought was the first one for N64. I'm just glad they got rid of the stupid microphone. Has anyone else gotten it yet? Any thoughts on how they incorporated the motion sensor into the mini-games? Last.Fm My Bloggy Proud to have served on Tip.it Crew
Adam007
From all the reviews I've heard it was horrible. I used to like Mario Party games, but I never get around to playing them with more than another person anymore, and I can't stand single player. Waiting through all that dialogue and computers taking 2 minute turns you can't skip just takes too long. I was thinking about giving this at least a rent, but from what I've heard, I'll pass on it. Jar3dp
I LOVED the mario party games on the nintendo 64, but so far mario party 8 has gotten bad reviews, I might rent it to see if I like it first.
Nadril
I read the IGN review and, wth, it doesn't even support widescreen? Game looked dreadful from the screenshots. Other than that I tired of the series after the 3rd one...

No, seriously. Ever heard of being able to control your movement speed in a game? And yes I love sonic and I probably love the sonic series more than mario but that doesn't detract anything from the series. To everyone else: sorry for a slight hijack, I've seen this kid say mario 64 was a horrible game a few times and wanted to find out why

Diesel
OK, I finally got time to play it. The host REALLY gets on my nerves! :wall: His voice gets old in about 2 seconds and he talks for like a half-hour before you ever get to do anything. Also, I was expecting a few more game boards. (only 5(You have to unlock the 6th)) As for the Wii's motion sensor control use in this game, it's quite basic. Twisting or rotating the controller is about as much as you get. The reactions from the movement are very glitchy in some of the mini games. (Chimp Flip #-o ) There are a few that are fun (the lasso one and shaking cans of soda pop) But other than that, you don't really get what you paid for. Bottom-line, I'd pass on this one if I were you. Last.Fm My Bloggy Proud to have served on Tip.it Crew
Nom
^Ha. And you were telling me that it was good. Change your mind? I think you spoke too soon. On another note, Super Paper Mario is amazing. One of the best Mario games yet, if you have a Wii get it.
spikerkid
Last mario game I got was Mario Party 4. I rarely played it so i'm leaning towards no for the Wii one. But leaning towards yes on how the new controller will work with it. Will probably be a no in the end. Quit RuneScape :)

Mario 64 paved the way to gaming as we know it, it was the first fully 3d game and had awesome gameplay. Cartoony looks weren't a drawback either. WokNGo
IMHO, after the 4th\5th one, it went downhill. =\ I used to love the second and third. We would have my friend and his sister over, (making it 5 people, so one person would do something else), and we play often. I was playing MP4 today with my one of my friends, and I won. I win 9\10 times, the whole winning-most-minigames gives me a huge advantage in items. My mom loved number two, mostly because of the desert land. She would just go crazy for it. I personally really liked number 3, the last one for N64. I'm so disappointed, as I've lost both MP3 and Super Mario 64 :(; Either way, I really like the boards, and the toad cellphone that let you call the item shop and buy an item was real unique. They need to stop making new ones, especially for the Wii. The whole point of playing the games for us to sit on the couch with wireless ;o
foolgool
Mario Party two was the climax of that entire series. Shock Drop and Roll is the best minigame ever. The code in my sig should say 1032 not 0132.
