Humus
This is my second guide, I hope you like it. :anxious: NOTE- sorry about picture quality! EDITED. For this guide, the requirements are- Tree Gnome Village (quest) Monkey Madness (quest) or have a whip. Waterfall Quest Recommended: 60defence 60range 70stength/attack and have these three items- 1- Glarial's Amulet (needed to get in) 2- Rope to get across. Here are my stats- Not that great, huh? But I can get some pretty decent xp from ranging them. First of all, getting there. Start off at The Grand Tree, there is a bank there. follow the red line untill you reach the house with the quest symbol on. Board the raft, like you did in the Waterfall Quest. After boarding the raft it crashes on a small mudbank. Use one of your ropes on the big rock just south, on another little island. Now you characture will throw the rope onto the rock and swim across. Now use one of your ropes on the dead tree infront. Now you are by a door, just like in the quest. Walk through the door. Now you are here: Okay, If you want to range them I would suggest the room straight north, if you are melee'ing, go to the west room. My range outfit- Head- Archer Helm> Robin Hood Hat> Karils Neck- Glory Amulet/ Fury/ Obsidian Necklace Body- Dhidebody/ Spined/ 3rd Age/ Karils Legs- Dhidechaps/spined>3rd age/ Karils Boots- Rune Boots/ Ranger Boots/ Boots of Lightness Gloves- RFD Gloves/ Coloured Gloves Ring- Ring of Wealth/ Ring of Life/ Ring of Recoil Weapon- MSB/ MLB/ Seercull/ Darts/ Knives/ Karils Xbow Cape- God Capes/ Obsidian Cape/ Coloured capes Arrows- Bronze to Dragon The arrows are if you are using a bow NOTE! I only wear rune boots because at first they are aggressive! It only gives like-1 or 2 on range attack and helps alot with defence! Bring better boots for when they stop being aggressive! Melee outfit- Head- Beserker> Warrior> Helm of Neitzot(sp?)> Any metal helm Neck- Glory/ Fury/ Obsidian Necklace/ Strength Amulet/ Gnome Amulet Body- Rune Body/ Dragon Chain/ Barrows/ 3rd Age Legs- Rune legs or skirt/ Dragon legs or skirt/ Barrows/ 3rd Age Boots- Rune Boots/ Boots of Lightness Gloves- RFD Gloves/ Coloured Gloves Ring- Ring of Wealth/ Ring of Life/ Ring of Recoil Weapon- Whip/ Dragon Scimmy/ Dragon Battleaxe> Dragon Hally Sheild- Rune Kite or sq/ Dragon sq/ 3rd Age/ Obsidian Sheild Cape- God Capes/ Obsidian Cape/ Coloured capes If you wanted to use a Dragon Hally, you should just use the range techniques. RANGING Start off going to the north room. Stand here: Once they stop being aggressive you can move onto this spot: But you don't have to, you may want to stay by the doors, where you can get away quickly. MELEE'ING If you want to kill these brutes with melee, it is alot more simple. It is recommended you kill Fire Giants in west room when doing melee, so go in and bash 'em around, pretty easy! I hope you enjoyed my guide for killing Fire Giants. CREDITS.. Me! Tip.it for some images. Lord Diddy
I don't understand the "best equipment to wear (from best>to least)", some are just odd, as in d hide being better then 3rd age, a glory being better then fury, in rings section theres no warrior\zerker\archer. Your equipment picture is far from the best, and yet you recommend it even down to rune boots being better then archer. Just find the stats of the items and better determine which are better. Dark bow maybe expensive and does require expensive ammos, but it is the arguably the best bow yet. Please note in your recommended items list whether you are recommending the items in terms of expenses or equipment stats. Otherwise the list is confusing and misleading. rsn: wassupdude90 Age is meaningless; we are all the same on the inside.
CampbellMC
3/10 for this guide. If you range with dark bow, people can steal your kills because it is so slow. Rope will not break going across, I did 72-97 range there and with my tons and tons of trips a rope has never broken, nor have I heard anyones who has. All your Equipment selection things are wrong, and even in your personal inventory you have rune boots on a ranger which lowers your range bonus. Yeah...Those little equipment tables go from best to worst. You don't just type in the equipment randomly. It's very misleading. EDIT: You have Rune boots on your guy. That lowers range bonus. Humus
For heavens sake... do people here try to be as mean as possible?! 1. OK, I read somewhere thast your rope could snap. I mean, so-rry! But you don't have to be so arrogant.. 2. I've taken Dark Bow out, and no, people can't take your kill when you attack with Dark Bow... don't argue with me, somebody came to Fire Giants earlier and I couldn't attack, just to prove you point. 3. Sorry about the >/< thing...I didn't realise. EDITED! Happy now? Resources / My Photos / INSPIRATION BLAWG
CampbellMC
Red vambs are better than mith gloves by far, if you are fast then you can steal a kill from a dark bow and if you post a guide about a well known area expect to get a lot of criticism. You may call it arrogance, but we are just helping you make this guide better for people who actually want to know how to effectively train there and not use trash gear. piman1053
A lot of the range equipment is backwards.
dangelo
also missed out alot of range stuff. Power amulet is not in the amulet section? Surly vambraces should be in glove sections? Missed out two bows - Dark Bow and Crystal Bow And also a trimmed cape for capes?
CampbellMC
Ive noticed atleast 20 more errors but Im not gonna bother pointing them all out, they are pretty much all to do with the gear. If I point out all these errors and then you jsut spaz out for me giving you criticism then I may aswell write my own guide about fire giants. Norton3000
I have always thought that the western room is for ranging. You can easily range there even if they are still agressive. Retired from RuneScape for as long as possible.
CampbellMC
It is, both room are good for range; and the east room is the only one good for Melee... another mistake in this guide.

Missed out two bows - Dark Bow and Crystal Bow And also a trimmed cape for capes? Well, you get the general idea. :P I was only suggesting what some things would be used. I took Dark Bow out, people were moaning about how people could take you kill.. :wall: It is, both room are good for range; and the east room is the only one good for Melee... another mistake in this guide. Ok well, whenever I go there, rangers usually kill in the east room. That's just personal preferance... Once you get enough experience you can change things around abit and do things your way. This guide isnt meant to be used as a Bible, I just wanted to give some helpful information to new members who may want to try them out. 8-) Sorry about me getting annoyed, It was 11pm and I was feeling abit cranky... It's just the way people have worded their 'constructive critisism' seemed a little bit harsh. Resources / My Photos / INSPIRATION BLAWG
