There's not really any "good" spots for mithril. Your best bet might be world hopping at the Lumbridge Mines.. there's 5 ores there. Head more or less south from Draynor, and it's right there on the corner of the coastline.

Hobgoblin mine is the best.

 

 

 

You might consider Crandor, because you will have reasonably fast banking in TzHaar, and there are 7 rocks - enough so that the first will respawn, or be close to it, by the time you finish mining the 7th.

 

 

 

Those are about the only 2 spots where you can continuously mine mith. I think you can do so while in the haunted mine as well, but that's a huge pain to get to. If you're going to superheat, try the mine SE of Draynor. A glory back will be quick banking, and it's usually empty on members worlds.

Try the Ones on crandor but hobgod mine if your not scared of pkers

I know you said not the mining guild but that is the best place I think. You can get mith and coal, then superheat it with magic.
