Any Home Studios out There?

Featured Replies

Anybody here have a home studio? My brother and I are looking into buying one, just to lay down tracks for ourselves, to help capture inspiration and to entertain ourselves.

If you do, some specs would be nice. :)

I'm soon building a home studio when I move into the other room in my house, mostly for vocals + hardware synths as everything else I do is software.

Using Reason 3.0 with Cubase for recording and mastering atm.

Give me a pm if you need any help choosing stuff, I just finished a BTEC in music tech and going onto HND!

My home studio is pretty hardxcore.

I have Cubase, a $30 sound card, a microphone, HammerHead RhythmStation with custom drum voices, a $70 effects pedal that I use for pitch shifting so I can play bass on my six-string, and a 1/4" mono to 1/8" mono audio adapter to go into the microphone port of my computer. Total cost: about $100, and I have a full band in a box.

handed me TWO tissues to clear up. I was like "i'm going to need a few more paper towels than that luv"

I just record in my basement. Obviously sound dampening, and making the room acoustically solid is paramount if you are really serious about it.

Metal fans, check out my band!
